I have to go to 3 different appointments with the nutritionist. I'm not required to lose a set amount but don't want to gain any. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I saw the nutritionist going on a month ago. She wanted me to start trying to eat 1200 calories with a goal of 60-70g Protein. I did really good for a whole week..... Then I have gotten off track. When did everyone really get strict to prepare for eating afterwards? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Today was a busy day... I met with the nutritionist and exercise coach... Then went right after and met with the doctor for the first time. He told me I would or could have surgery 90 days from today... So sometime in November! I got an appt for my EGD and next appointments with nut and exercise. It's moving very quickly. He said it should be an easy surgery... I do not have comorbidities really... Just high BMI. I'm excited! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I'm starting the process.... I have appointments with the nutritionist Next week and my first consultation with the Doctor Thursday. I'm still bouncing back and forth from being absolutely sure about the surgery, then times I wonder if I will someday regret this. My mom is very worried about it all... She thinks it's too drastic. But my friends are very supportive. I have a friend who's also going through the process with me, and I know the doctors personal scrub, who also had the sleeve by him a couple months ago. My biggest fear is having complications. I know there's always risks, and I know when I come out of surgery I'll be relieved it's over. I know the diet will be hard, but I'm less nervous about that than the possibility of complications. Does anyone else worry this much about what could happen? I read and read and look at inspiring pics on Instagram. I read the good and the bad.... And I just hate that I'm so worried about what could go wrong. The good news, I could have the surgery as soon as November! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Thanks so much! I just left a seminar with one of the physicians who do the surgery.. I work at the hospital so luckily I have some insight of who I want. I am ready! He made me feel very good and at ease. The good news is once I have an initial consultation with him, the minimum wait is 90 days... So I'm thinking it may be January before I'll actually get to do it. But I'm excited! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

That's awesome!!! I am trying to make the decision to have surgery or not... I worry about having complications or regretting it.. But if I could have the outcome u have, I would do it today!! Great job! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
And that 40lbs came right back on after I had to take a break from working out when my hip hurt so badly I limped while working out. I have to face it I'm getting older... My body isn't liking me much lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

That's awesome! I can't imagine losing 70lbs! I lost 40 a couple years ago... It took me about a year to do that... And I worked out 3-4x a week and went 2 years without cokes. I ate good... I felt better but I feel like I should've been able to lose more in that amount of time! I'm currently about 290... Sounds crazy to say cause I don't feel I should be this big. I still mentally have the body I did 10 years ago when I was in shape... After 2 kids and probably some depression I'm just not sure how I let myself get this way! That makes me second guess things.... But I know there's risks to doing it as well as risks for not having the surgery. I'm pretty healthy besides being over weight. I have high cholesterol, but besides that not many problems now. I am at high risk for heart problems and diabetes genetically... So I wanted to do something now before it gets to that point. I guess end of the day, is it worth it in the long run.... Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Great hearing that! Everyone I've talked to... Some who have had gastric bypass.. Say just do it. My mom is semi supportive.. She thinks it's extreme, but also said its my decision and she will help if I need. I've lost weight... But it always seems to creep right back. I love hearing the success stories! I'm 29 years old from Arkansas...considering having the sleeve done soon... I have a seminar with one of the doctors tomorrow. I've been reading a lot and decided to join to read others' experiences.... Good and bad. There are times I know I want to go through with the surgery, then times I second guess my decision because of reading complications. Any suggestions on reaching a definite decision? It's scary but when I see others success stories, I want to do it! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
