Did I do the right thing???Help!
TeganRheana replied to TeganRheana's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thankyou all so much for making me feel like I did the right thing. Of course I want to lose weight, but I also didn't want to have to come home (I live an hour away from the office) and just have to go back again because I was having troubles with it...and the fact that I could still feel the Water there in my chest made me feel as though that was going to happen. My doctor is my surgeon and I know that they usually have incredibly poor bedside manners,..he has always been blunt even with my pre-op appointments. Its not that that bothered me, its the fact that I walked away feeling as though I shouldn't have gone against his suggestion and now I'm just hoping beyond hope that I will lose weight with just the 5cc in (instead of the 5.5cc I would have been upto if I hadn't of had him take out the .5) to prove him wrong. I honestly don't understand how I couldn't lose weight with a top up of a whole 1 mil when the .3 that the doc last time put in (a different and obviously more conservative doc that was filling in for mine) even made an affect. Has anyone else found good restriction at just 5cc?? Thanks again for all of your comments - it really has helped!! -
Excellent!! Sounds like my goal is definitely in reach then!! I don't feel so bad now! Thankyou so much

How many "holes" do you have?
TeganRheana replied to Lisani's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Two incisions and 3 holes. -
Heya! I was banded May 7...definately keen to catch up with other people in perth who have been or are going through the same thing I am!!

I don't mind the scars...probably because they get lost within my childbirth war scars aka stretch marks LOL ...you can see my port one is the biggest one on the right....I have 5 total but 2 of them are harder to see than the others. There is a pic of my scars in my progress pics album (link below)... (I don't know how to post a thumbnail so if anyone can tell me that would be great!!)

Anyone else had less than 1 ml fill and noticed a difference?? I only got .3 put in yesterday for my second fill and I'm not noticing anything So I'm now at an even 4mls in a 10ml band. Was hoping for some good restriction this time...my doc said I would feel it...does it gradually happen or do you immediately feel a difference once filled? Anyone??!! Feeling a little down today.

Interesting appointment...check out these plates/bowls!
TeganRheana posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So I've just got home from my second fill appointment...apparently I have lost 3kgs since my first fill (YAY!)...so even though I have been eating more than I thought/think I should be, it has to still be better than what I was like pre-band. Anyway, he only filled me up .3!!! I was hoping for more but apparently I was only at 3.7 (not 4 as I thought) and my band had some air in it. So he withdrew the 3.7 and replaced it with an extra .3 which now brings me to the even 4 I thought I was. LOL...I am just hoping that that .3 will do something! (Has anyone else only been given a small fill (less than a mil) and actually noticed a difference?) Whilst I was there, he told me to go to this website and order this measuring plate/bowl especially designed for lap band patients.....I think it's a great idea, and I'm definately going to get one, that way I will know for sure that If I can/am eating more than is suggested on the plate, then I need another fill.. Anyway, thought I would share it with you all...this is the plate: https://www.greatideas.net.au/ssl/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=641&osCsid=738af35cc609c97ced540da14fe92361 and this is the bowl:https://www.greatideas.net.au/ssl/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=642&osCsid=738af35cc609c97ced540da14fe92361 -

Awesome That's great you find it easy to do the portion sizes yourself...me ...not so easy...my eyes are too big for my stomach ...literally lol I have tried using a side plate, but these plates actually have lines on it to say this is your Protein portion, this is your vege portion and this is your carb portion...this is what I am most needing as I tend to fill my plate up with more of the carbs (easier to go down)... Would be a lot easier to not have to have a visual aid and I am hoping that one day I will get the hang of it but I think I need to give them a try  Well done on your weight loss so far! That's an awesome amount to lose in such a short time. -

Thanks hun...I will let you know how it go's. I'm a bit annoyed though, got a call this morning asking If I could get there by 9am...I have an hour to travel to Joondalup from here so that means I'll be up around 5:30 to get the boys ready for school, drop them off at daycare to leave at around 7am....thankgod the daycare opens at 6am otherwise there is no way I would make it....I am really really looking forward to getting some good restriction - so I don't want to miss this appointment.I only have 4cc in at the moment in 10cc band...I'm hoping he'll give me at least another 1.5cc.....*fingers crossed*....I need it!! How much weight have u lost now??? By the looks of u'r pic, you can definately tell you have lost heaps

COME TO WESTERN AUSTRALIA!! I have lived here all my life and I am biased LOL...Love it over here, wouldn't want to be anywhere else:) Have a look at this website (I got all this from there)...lists heaps of things to do and see: Welcome to Western Australia - Tourism Western Australia We have the CORAL COAST Beaches, exotic marine life, national reserves and the bluest ocean you’ll see anywhere in the world. This coastline region commence at Cervantes, where you’ll find the unique rock formations of the Pinnacles and stretches as far north as Exmouth, home of the internationally renowned Ningaloo Reef, this amazing area is also great for diving and fishing all year round with a variety of spectacular reefs and marine life, white sandy beaches and warm turquoise waters. Inland is just as exciting, as carpets of wildflowers burst into colour during the wildflower season. The region offers amazing experiences and interactions with a variety of marine life, including meeting the dolphins of Monkey Mia, sea lions, manta rays, dugongs and humpback whales. Australia’s Coral Coast is one of the few places in the world where you can swim with the world’s largest fish – the whale shark. Check out Nature's Calendar for some suggestions of when to go. We have the SOUTH WEST: From towering forests to whale watching, fine food and wine to world class surfing, Australia's South West offers some of the most varied travel experiences in Western Australia.Margaret River and its surrounds are a popular destination for world-class wineries, top surfing and fun family holidays. Locals head here in winter too, responding to the lure of cosy log-fires, brisk walks along the beach, horse riding through the bush and mountains of delicious local produce.A huge draw for scuba divers is the HMAS Swan Dive Wreck, also visible to snorkellers from above the ocean surface. The Busselton Jetty and Underwater Observatory provides another amazing view of the colourful world beneath the Water. (I grew up here in Busselton!! :tt2: ) We have the NORTH WEST: Australia's North West is one of the world's last true wilderness areas and home to the Kimberley - the inspiration for 'Australia' the movie. The seaside town of Broome forms the southern gateway to this spectacular region and offers up breathaking Cable Beach - a 22km stretch of soft white sand and warm turquoise waters. From Broome, venture into red-earth country and experience an authentic Aussie outback adventure by four wheel drive, take a scenic flight over extraordinary rock formations and magnificent waterfalls, or cruise through the inland waterways that permeate the region.Highlights of Australia's North West include the Bungle Bungle Range, the rocky landscapes of Karijini National Park, the many ancient gorges featured along the Gibb River Road, and Lake Argyle - a mass of water large enough to be classified as an inland sea. We have the OUTBACK (this is probably how you expect Australia to be like) Vast clear skies and theatrical landscapes. True outback adventures, authentic Aboriginal encounters and visits to settlements built by goldrush pioneers.Images of the vast clear skies and theatrical landscapes of the Golden Outback region will stamp themselves forever in your minds eye. This is the place for true outback adventure. Driving becomes an activity in itself rather than a means to an end, and camping under the stars is a mystical experience.Look for tours offering authentic Aboriginal encounters in and around the mining towns and settlements built by goldrush pioneers. Or simply get into the laid back atmosphere of rural life among grandiose heritage buildings, friendly pubs and hospitable farmstays. And then we have PERTH! (Where I live now) All the essential ingredients for a great holiday. Some of the country's best beaches, plenty of nightlife, bustling markets, inner city parks, outdoor dining and amazing marine adventures.Perth centres on Western Australia's capital of Perth, which sits beside the widest stretch of the meandering Swan River. Locals here enjoy a relaxed outdoors lifestyle, as does the neighbouring port city of Fremantle, at the mouth of the Swan. The line-up of water-based fun includes boating, fishing and all dialogues of surfing. Fremantle's majestic historic architecture takes you back in time, while its marine heritage draws you to the ocean and a short ferry ride to Rottnest Island. I would also recommend hiring a "Wicked Camper Van" ....I see them around ALL the time! They look reasonably priced and they would definitely get you where you needed to go! :smile2: Here's their website: http://www.wickedcampers.com.au/pricing Wayyy too much here to list!(Check out the website addy I put here) You'll love it here :wink2: -
Heya! First of all, I just wanted to say you look fantastic! Secondly...just wanted to check with you on something...when you say you measure all your food into 1/2cup servings...does that mean your only eating 3 x 1/2cup servings of food per day?? Thanks heaps! Again, you look great! :)
