I've lost the thread we had so I wanted to start another one. Just wanted to be able to check in and see how everyone is going with their weight loss so far. I had my first fill about a month ago now to 4cc but haven't lost any weight since! :wink2: I'm getting a little discouraged. ...I haven't been doing too well with eating the "correct" healthy foods so I'm starting fresh today. I've had some yoghurt for Breakfast and for lunch I intend on having some cruskits with a slice of cheese and tomato on top which I love. My hardest time is after dinner, I've always been an "after 7pm snacker" so that is tough. I bought some milo today so I'm going to try having a hot cup of that tonight which will hopefully hold the hunger off. How is everyone else doing? Do you have any food issues with what you can/can't eat? How has your weight loss been going?

How well did you lose in first few months?
TeganRheana replied to bevanfranks's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's awesome Yeah, I can't get an appointment sooner which is annoying, he is so backed up with appointments that was the earliest I could get. I know exactly what you mean about such a short time, feeling like a lifetime....I am starting to really struggle now with controlling how much I am eating (although it is is still way less than I used to) and of course what I'm eating....I am hoping that when I get my next fill I will start to feel more restriction again, I miss that full feeling! -
I've just joined a calorie counting website and have logged in my calories for today, I've only eaten 360 calories today when I need 2000!! I have also realised that I'm not eating nearly enough Protein (which would probably explain why I feel like I'm still always hungry)... I need some ideas on quick, easy "snacks" that I can have that have plenty of protein in them....what are you all having to keep you going and get your calories uP?? Thanks in advance!!!

How well did you lose in first few months?
TeganRheana replied to bevanfranks's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh! I just started a thread pretty much about this exact same thing! I lost about 30lbs pre-op/post op up until my first fill which I had about 3 weeks ago now...and since then, I haven't lost any weight! I feel like I am able to eat more than I should be able to and it is very very frustrating. I don't go back in to my specialist until September 9 so that makes it worse because I feel like I should be losing weight!! Hopefully it is normal and I'm not just a freak lol Sorry I don't have any advice, just know, that your not alone! -
Sorry, just deleted this thread as someone posted the same thing!!

Why do we have to wait 15-30 minutes after drinking before eating?
TeganRheana replied to Sarah.R's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have no idea. I've been wondering the same thing. -

TeganRheana replied to turner5792's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Maybe you have gallstones?? I have heard it's quite common for people to have gallstones when they have lost a lot of weight....definately go and get it checked out, I hope you feel better soon!! -

Protein foods...
TeganRheana replied to TeganRheana's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, I put in my weight and height and it said 2000 calories. I didn't think it was unusual, I have heard a lot of people on here say that are required to have that amount. -
Thanks girls  It is good to know I"m not the only one who worries over it. Your all absolutely right, I think I need to just relax and enjoy not eating as much as I used to (and I do enjoy that funnily enough!!)...Feeling a lot better about it today, went and bought some new clothes, feeling good

feel like the weight just isn't dropping fast enough? I feel like I'm struggling already because I'm just not noticing the weight dropping (thanks to my dodgy home scales that haven't budged for weeks now). It makes me paranoid that my band may have stretched or slipped etc (although in my rational mind, I doubt it). Please tell me I'm not alone!!

Haha, of course I am satisfied with my loss so far (even with 5kgs of it being pre-op loss) I am just now at that point I think where I am constantly worrying about not continuing to lose weight as I have now been on a plateau with my weight for about 2 weeks. Unfortunately, because I have been overweight my entire life, I am one of those people who can lose 30kgs and still not see a change in appearance if the scales don't tell me its happening and that's exactly how it is at the moment. I'm concerned that I'm going to be eating to much as I don't have another fill/appointment with my doc until September 9 and I am already starting to get more and more hungry (although I still get full a lot faster than pre-op)and I am now able to tolerate a lot more foods than I have been able to up until this point. I guess I just wanted to know that I'm not the only one who is concerned that the band is doing it's job properly and about gaining weight even with it in. It is normal to have weeks here and there that we won't lose weight isn't it? It's just hard to fathem not losing weight continuously and these stand still weeks have not helped my paranoia! lol Thanks though for all the congrats guys!

Lapband Friendly Restaurants
TeganRheana replied to FarmGirl7's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What is the card taht you get?? Do all lap-band patients over there get one? We don't get any cards here in Australia but then again, I have no problem just ordering an entree sized meal (as a main - they bring it out at the same time the main meals come out) or kiddy meals...it's bizarre to me that they wouldn't let you..
