  1. Did anyone on here have to have the filter inserted before surgery? I had mine put in a few days before surgery and tomorrow is the day it's scheduled to come out. They kind of put me half under when they inserted it (because I drove myself) so I was cold (to say the least) when I was on that table and they were sliding it in. Ouch! Tomorrow they are knocking me out completely for the removal - thankfully. I'm told it's a fairy quick procedure. Home in a few hours when it's all said and done hopefully. Has anyone else gone through the filter process? Thanks Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. I don't know the root cause of why my legs are so sore. I walk my 15-20 minutes a day (slow pace) (sometimes more). Over the course of the last week though my legs feel like they have been running in a marathon and I really have to be careful going up stairs getting in and out my car etc. I drink about 2 16 oz bottles of Poland Spring Water plus a 12 oz Diet Snapple throughout the Day, plus a small cup of coffee. Am I getting enough fluids? It takes me so damn long to drink a bottle of water now. I see my surgeon Thursday for my one month follow up. I've been going weekly since my surgery date. (6/27). 3. I am a teacher and I had my surgery on June 27th. The earliest opportunity I could get as soon as school was out. I am definitely blessed to have the rest of the simmer to adjust to this new life. 17 days out from surgery about down 30 already! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Urinating Pain (males)

Hi UCLA, No, I haven't come close to 20 times a day urinating. I don't think I've even gone 20 times since Monday. 2 times a day has been my average. I'm going to just monitor it and should the discomfort increase I will make appt with urologist ASAP. It's not terribly painful just more annoying. Than anything. Urinating Pain (males)

Hi OKC, no catheter was not used thanks god. They were threatening me with it all day after I woke up on surgery day Monday. I tried 3 times to go to no avail. Finally they gave me a deadline if I didn't go by 10pm they would insert catheter. I muscled out of bed right around 10 and waited and waited.. Finally like a faucet lol. Filled the jug; gave it to nurse and attempted to go back to sleep. I'm wondering if it's because lack of of Fluid intake post op. Like above poster says, although I'm drinking 3 16 oz Poland spring Water bottles plus crystal light. Can't believe how long it takes me to consume 1 16" bottle of water! Damn! 6. Hi all, I'm new to this forum. Found it when looking for support sites/forums. I was just sleeved this past Monday (June 27). Today is the first day I've felt somewhat "normal" again. Able to do light household stuff/moving around. First few days were a bit of a haze. And gas pain! Oh my lord. Just trying to get through that. I've been graduated to yogurts/puddings/soups coffee/tea and believe me after a week of broth broth and Jello this is a god send! One issue I'm having slightly is when I urinate I get slight pain. Anyone know what this is possibly related to or from? Post op issue? My surgeon advised to go to a urologist. Very excited about my new journey. I was a blur blue and emotionless first few days but today My emotional IQ and endorphins kicked in I guess! (Maybe it was the 4 oz coffee w/ half half that did the trick!) lol. Great stories on here and looking forward to reading more success stories. Andy Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
