I'm on a 6 months pre op program with a supervised diet before I can be submitted to my insurance company for approval. I'm required to lose 5% of my total weight which equaled to about 17 lbs. My 2nd weigh in showed no change on the scale and my third weigh in showed an increase of 8lbs and my 3rd weigh in showed an increase of another 8lbs. So I was about half way in and instead of losing 17lbs I gained 16lbs. One of my doctors had a serious conversation with me basically questioning how bad I wanted surgery. That was a real turning point for me because there is nothing that I want more in life at this moment than surgery, At my 4th weigh in I saw a decrease of 3lbs, a small victory but a victory non the less. I knew it was possible for me to lose the weight I just had to really push myself. I did that by reducing my calorie intake, cutting out all fried foods, sugars, juices, soda, reducing my carb intake, and working out in the gym for about an hour 5 times a week. Today was my 5th weigh in and I was down 15lbs, and under my initial starting weight. I still have 15 lbs to lose to reach my goal pre op weight and I have 21 days to do it but I won't be defeated. What I realized is that I've let my weight stop me from doing so many things in life. I've missed ample opportunities and sold my self short so many times. I'll be damn if I let my weight stop me from this life changing opportunity. You can do it girl. I hope this helped and makes you feel like your not alone.
