fresh out. the first couple for days were pretty hard i have to admit i cried because the pain was so strong. when i first started drinking liquids i was shocked about how easily they filled me up. yes i knew that would happen but knowing and experiencing are two very different things. as the days go by I'm drinking a pill every morning on an empty stomach to prevent ulcers and I'm chewing my Multivitamins everyday (Centrum vitamins) i am also drinking 3 Protein shakes a day and everything is going pretty well. i hope i keep recovering easily and i hope that anyone else that is at the same point as i am has a speedy recovery as well

I am almost two weeks out and am still on the liquid diet. I think I drink Water and crystal light way too fast as well as Protein shakes but I have noticed that when I drink the shakes too quick I get some discomfort. It would take me about 30 minutes to finish a shake rather than the recommended hour. Has anyone else dealt with this? Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

I am a week out and my incisions are red around the edges and they itch a lot. I don't know if it's the actually incision or if it's the stretch marks that I have on my belly that are dry causing them to itch. I haven't put cream on my belly because I was told not to. The incisions do not hurt. When I press on my stomach I feel no pain at all but I was wondering is this normal? Is it because they are healing? Has anyone else had this before. Thank you for everyone who commented I didn't see these comments until today but I did end up going to the ER yesterday they told me that everything looked good and it could just be because of the tissue underneath. so my surgery is tomorrow and I have to be at the hospital at 9:30am. I am so nervous but I know that is normal because it is a big surgery but I'm praying that all goes well..earlier today I was questioning if this is really what I want to do but I know that's my inner fat girl trying to hold on but I know I am ready, has anyone else felt that way the day before surgery? and I will keep everyone updated. congratulations to everyone else getting the surgery tomorrow. good luck

Depending on insurance your process could be 3 months long or 6 months long. Mine was 6 months and I finally got my surgery date August 3rd. July 18- pre op appointment with my surgeon July 20- starting my pre op diet August 3- surgery Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

A pre op class is a two hour class that you have to sit for and they basically explain how much Protein you will be drinking before and after surgery they give you a big packet which is a guideline it's very helpful by the way all your answers will be there. Hello my name is Catherine and I have completed all the steps the 6 month supervised program as well as all my blood work. I have also completed my two hour pre op class and have gone to my required support group meetings. I had an appointment with my surgeon June 13 but he cancelled because he had a surgery to do. That was understandable but then I got a phone call that said that the appointment would be rescheduled to July 18 (more than a month later). That same day my surgeon called me personally and told me to ignore the July 18 appointment because my surgery would be either the first or second week of July. He spoke to me about doing my pre op diet and taking my Vitamins as well as having Iron and Calcium with me the day of surgery. I have been calling his office all of last week and this week and no one has a surgery date for me yet. I am getting frustrated because it is already July 1st.
