I was hoping to be banded March 28th, but the surgeon was booked, so now mine is April 4th. I started the liquid diet on Monday. Monday wasn't too bad, but Tuesday about killed me. Then they called and said my surgery was the 4th and I could eat until this Friday. Thank goodness lol. The taste wasn't bad,but the smell of the protein gagged me. I am going to ask about drinking Slim Fast Low Carb shakes. I have to be on liquids for 2 weeks prior to surgery!!!!

Hi all, I am now an April Avenger. I was hoping to have my surgery next week, but the surgeon was all booked. My surgery date is April 4th. I am so excited!!!! Since I was hoping for next week, I started the liquid diet on Monday. That day wasn't too bad, but today was AWFUL. It didn't taste bad, but the smell just gagged me. Any advice??? Hi all!! It is exciting to see that everyone is close to their surgery date. My insurance was sent off today. Now it is just wait and see. I am really excited that things are finally getting closer (and really starting to get nervous)!!!

Hi all, I am hopefully going to be banded at the end of March, depending on how fast insurance approves. I teach 8th grade math, and I am the cheerleading sponsor for the middle school. I have been married for 6 years in June. I have three step children, one 12 year old daughter who lives with us, a 13 year old bipolar step son who just recently moved in with his mother, and a 20 year old step daughter. I have a WONDERFUL dog, Furby. I have been overweight for as long as I can remember. I have tried every diet known I think. A lady I teach with and I went to a seminar, and we decided to do this together. Then, she decided to have gastric bypass. We are still supporting each other every day though. I have really enjoyed this site because it is so informative. Best of luck to you all!!

Hi KayKay, I am from TN too. I have Cigna, but I heard BCBS you have to lose 10%. I'm really not sure what else you have to do. My hubby has BCBS and I that is my secondary insurance. I know I won't be using his because mine pays 100%. Best of Luck!!

I am really glad to find a group of teachers on here. I will hopefully get to be banded the day before Spring Break. Do you think that a week is long enough for me to be out? I absolutely hate having a sub!!!!!!!

Hey Slim, I am glad you asked that question. I have been wondering the exact same thing. I am hopefully having my surgery the first of April. I have been afraid to stop smoking because every time I try all I do is eat. Good luck with your surgery!!!!!
