    Not losing much

Honestly, 14 lbs in 3 weeks is good! I lost 8 lbs the first week, then I didn't lose anymore until week 4. I soon as I started pureed at 2 weeks out, I hit a stall that lasted another 2 weeks. You can't compare yourself to everyone else. Just get in your lean Protein and Water and it will all work out. I'm 4 months out now, and I've lost a total of 71 lbs (including pre-op loss). The sleeve is a great tool but you have to be patient with it.

No weight loss in two weeks!

I lost 8 lbs the first 2 weeks and then didn't lose any the next 2 weeks. It's called a stall. I am now 4 months out and I have had as many weeks of stalls as weeks of losing weight. It's part of the process. 20 lbs in 2 weeks is a HUGE amount of weight loss!!! You HAVE to be patient. I am 4 months out and I've lost almost 70 lbs. It's worth the patience.
  6. You increase your risk for ulcers with alcohol. I'm 4 months out and took a few sips of alcohol the other night and each sip burned. That's the last time I will do that for a long time. Alcohol is not worth the risk of damage.

    4 months out tomorrow !!!

Congratulations!!! 70 lbs gone is AWESOME!
  10. I agree, it is hard to watch others lose faster. I avg between 1-2 lbs a week now and it's been like that since my 2nd month after surgery. I do know I am losing inches because I keep having to go down in clothes size. I'm not eating anything/everything I want and honestly, I hope I will stay this careful the rest of my life, because I feel so much better having healthy food in my body. It's not to say that I won't allow myself a slice of pizza or birthday cake every once-in-awhile but it's not the norm. Try to not compare yourself to others. We all have different body shapes, ages, metabolism. I'm in my 50's now and I started with a lower BMI, so I know I will lose slower. Now that I am within 20 lbs of goal, it will even get slower. I anticipate it will take me 3 or 4 more months to lose this last weight. Good luck with your journey. Just persevere and you will be successful

    Djmohr

I saw on her profile where she was on last on Feb 5th. It also said she had surgery in 2014. Did she just have revision? I know I have many days/weeks where I don't get on here. Maybe she just needed a break.
  12. I just posted some pics. Notice the posing. lol
  13. You lost 20 lbs in 10 days!!!!!! That's a lot of weight loss in a short period of time. This weight didn't come on over night and it won't fall off over night. You have to be patient and let the process work for you. I am 3.5 months post op and I've probably had 6 or 7 stalls. Just keep working the program and you will lose weight. Stay off the scales and just measure how you are physically feeling and how your clothes are getting looser.
  14. I hear ya! I'm finally getting to a place in my weight loss, that I'm not ashamed to have my picture taken. Now don't get me wrong, I still try to pose in certain ways that accentuate my positives and cover my negatives. I feel like I will always be a little insecure.

    4 month stall

I bet you are building muscle too. Stair climbing really builds up the legs and booty. I'm 3.5 months out and I've had several stalls. They are very frustrating but I just keep following plan, journal everything and exercising. My clothes are getting smaller and the weight is coming off so I'm satisfied; However, I may only lose 5 lbs a month now. I would definitely measure yourself or go by what your clothes are showing you, instead of just the scale. You can do this!

I've never had to work so hard at cheating!!!! I measure, weigh, log, count, limit, exercise, drink and eat Protein, protein, protein. Nothing easy about WLS.

Are you exercising? How long has your stall lasted?

    3 1/2 month post op

I get in 70 oz a day and my pee is STILL dark yellow. I think my Vitamins are causing this. Also, I just recently started Biotin, and I've had a headache for a few days. Have you started any new meds?

Are you still dehydrated? That can definitely cause migraines.

    2nd week stall

I was on liquids the first 2 weeks after surgery and I lost 8 lbs. The next 2 weeks while I was on pureed, I didn't lose a single lb. I started losing again on soft foods. I am 3 1/2 months out and I hit a 7-10 day stall every month. I now lose about 1-2 lbs a week. The scale is moving down and I've gone from a size 18 to a 12/10 so I'm happy with my progress. I need to lose about 20 more lbs so I know I'm going to continue to lose really slowly. You just have to be patient with the process. Many, many stalls are going to happen during your journey. Just follow your plan and exercise. The weight will come off.

    Portion control.

I am 3 1/2 months out. I weigh my meat (3 oz) and most of the time measure my veggies (1/4-1/2 cup). Usually I can eyeball the veggies and don't really worry about it. I ALWAYS weigh my meat though. I used to only eat 2 oz of meat, but I work out consistently and needed more food.
  22. This is all normal. The swelling has subsided. Like mentioned above, yogurt will go down easily. That's why it is often allowed during the liquid phase. Once you start eating more solid foods, you will feel the restriction more. Also, some days you will feel fuller quicker than others. I will measure out 3 oz of meat. Some days I can eat all of it and think I could probably eat more. Other days I can't even eat 2 oz. This is why I measure everything I eat! When I get too full or eat too quickly, I always get the hiccups. I can use my sleeve as a guide most of the time, but not all of the time. Measure, measure, measure.

    Diet

Most WLS shakes are Meal Replacements and not meant to be taken with other food. The shake is your meal. I would work toward your Protein goal and eliminate the bread that you are eating for Breakfast and with a sandwich. I don't know your plan but mine only allows whole grain carbs 2-3X a WEEK.

    PTSD after VSG?..

Sounds like you are clinically depressed. I definitely wouldn't say PTSD. I would schedule an appt with your psychologist. It may be hormone related.
