Hello all, I have a surgery date for 12/7. The nerves started creeping in a few days ago. Im looking for support, my surgeon said ppl do best with support groups. My fears are about the surgery its self and life after surgery.

I had my first appt on July 21st. I met one of their RNs, my dietician, my surgeon and got labs drawn. Everyone was super nice and explained everything in detail. My financial coordinator is on top of everything. I have BCBS federal insurance and they only require a 3 month or 90 day supervised wt loss. Im so very excited, but I feel like I have a lot to do within those 90 days. I need a sleep study, medical clearance from my PCP and hematologist ( I had a DVT diagnoses in Feb), need to lose 10#, psych eval, chest X-ray, PFT, EKG, and ABG, and sit in an education class. My insurance is amazing. I feel like this is going to go by super fast. I'm praying for a November 2016 surgery date. My dets: I'm 34, 5'2, 228. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Hey Yall, My date is December 7th!!!

I'm getting cold feet as well but I think it's from nerves. We are about to have a serious surgery here. Once it's done there's no going back. So this may be the biggest decision of our lives. But this is also why I decided to keep the surgery a secret. Family and friends have a way of imposing their fears onto us. I only told a friend that had the procedure done about 3 yrs ago. It has to be right before. Medically supervised means ud either meet with a NUT or a Dr that specializes in diets and exercise. My clinic has a NUT in office Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Here we go!!! I have BCBS Federal and they cover WLS, great! What's not so great, I have taken so many test with my Bariatric office that I'm ready to pull my hair out and scream to the top of my lungs. I can't decide if they are being thorough or a blood sucking leech trying to suck out all the money they can. First there was my first visit with the surgeon. $40 copay rt? Wrong!!!! $40 for the Bariatric center and $40 to his surgical office! that makes absolutely no sense. Then I had my psych eval ($30) who sent back I needed another evaluation... 2nd psych eval with another Dr. ($60) he's says ur fine, I don't see any issues, why were u sent to me ok. Let's keep moving... not 1 but 2 sleep studies that results were the same (2x150) my PCP and my hematologist wanted me to come back to the office to write my clearance. Now let me just say I had just seen them a month ago (30+40) I go in the office and they are like so u want to have wls? Yes muthaf***er!!!!! Writes clearance. I can now see the light at the end of the tunnel. I have been scheduled for my final test, EGD and pulmonary fx and chest X-ray. I knew that I would have costs to pay before hand. The just diagnosed me with sleep apnea last week. So I have to go get a machine then wear it and go back to the dr so they can read the sims card. At that point the pulmonary dr will release me or right a clearance. @@La_Strega_Sa Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Only idiot I see is ^. You know they make these things called phones, pads, tablets, that allow you to hook up to wifi and watch shows while, on the treadmill etc. they even have them setup on stationary equipment as well as mounted on the wall.
