Well here I go another month of Protein shakes. Been taken them for 2 months now due to my blood sugar gets to high when I eat even when I am on meds, so I have an option to stay on what I'm doing until surgery that is on the 28th or go on insiline. It's just getting harder because I'm getting hungry, I do eat chicken when I cook it for my family. The bad thing is that I only lost 5 pounds. When I went to see the dr he said my bmi went from 38 to 36 and he wants me to loose more I don't know how good that is. But I know the knew meds I'm on makes it hard to loose. I just got my pre op a pointment for October 31st, but I don't know why they didn't give me a surgery date yet. Did this ever happened to anyone. How long will they make the date for surgery after you do the pre op. Does anyone know Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App

I had a date set for October 28th now I get a call from my surgeon office saying that my insurance thinks that I am not medical nesercary for the surgery. I have bmi of 38, I have hypotension, I have type 2 diabetes, I was just diantnose with sleep apnea. What else do they need. I then called my insurance and they said that they denied my due to that they did not have my cardiac release and a xray. I am starting to think that even if they send in what they need they might still think they it still not medical nesercary. Did this happen to anyone else. I'm at the point to stop this diet that they made me go on and just go back to eating and have to deal with feeling sick all the time. I just don't know what to do anymore. I just get my blood work back, and my dr called and said my blood sugar is so high that they won't do the surgery if I can't get it down under 200. I have until the 12th of next month to get it down. I already saw my prim dr and she changed my meds, and I'm also doing Protein shakes twice a day and hardly eating anything for dinner and tomorrow I go back to get blood wook. That great, I gust got the blood work done today and they said the dr should have it next week. And I hope the dr staff will summit it as soon as they get it. Im hoping I will get an approval by the time I go back on the 12. Thank you for your input.

I saw my surgeon last month, my prim dr agrees to the bypass surgery due to my type 2 dietbies, went to the sic that went well, went to the nutritionest and that went well now I have to go for blood work tomorrow. I hope that is all I need to do before they send it in for approval for surgery. I have to go back next month to the surgeon. I hope it don't take to long. I'm waiting for mine approval I first had to get a letter from my primary dr saying that I need the surgery, then I have to see a nutritionest, and now I have to see sic evaluation and then I go back to see the surgeon. I hope they don't tell me I need to be on a supervise diet. My primary dr put in her letter that I need the surgery do to that I have life threatening health problems, and when I saw the nutritionest she said I should have it right away as well do to my sugar levels are close to the 300 and my BP is high even taking meds.
