    Help

You are doing just fine. I also started in January. 303 lbs. My surgery weight was close to yours and my surgery date was July 28. I am 5'3". I have lost about 30 lbs since surgery. My doctor said that since i lost enough prior to surgery to significantly lower my BMI that my weight loss would be slower. He is well satisfied with the average of 10 lbs per month as am I. I go to the gym at least 3 times a week and get about 800 calories a day, and stay active as much as possible throughout the day. Sent from my KFTT using the BariatricPal App

  12. I agree with evenya, in that I would not want to broadcast my surgery to the world. However, if I meet someone who is wanting to have surgery I would highly recommend my doctor. Sent from my SM-N900T using the BariatricPal App

    3 days post op troubles

I'm newly sleeved, so I'm hoping some of the vets will comment on this to help you out some, but i have question. Is the Gatorade or Powerade you are drinking sugar free? My nut said i could have Gatorade G2 post-op, but when i looked at the label, i think it said there was some sugar in it, or carbs, so i didn't get it. I don't remember. Powerade Zero has no sugar, but regular powerade has sugar. Could this be causing the nausea? Sent from my KFTT using the BariatricPal App
  17. I'm in. I've been lurking (studying) here, but i think this will help me a lot. I am at my third week now (staying off the scale for at least a week). My doctor just warned me yesterday that because i had lost so much weight prior to surgery and since surgery, that i lowered my BMI enough that i would probably not lose weight as fast now. I worked hard for that weight loss and in not going to let it be the cause of my defeat. I choose to work that much harder to be a success story. Sent from my KFTT using the BariatricPal App

  20. I got sleeved!! 7am EST, 8 hours ago. This hospital is super great! They have been quick with pain meds and stuff for nausea. I have been walking twice and to the potty 3 times. Thank you so much BP for all the advice, it has been so helpful. Sent from my SM-N900T using the BariatricPal App
  21. A million years! Or, so it seemed. It was a little over two weeks from the day the office submitted my file to the insurance company. Sent from my SM-N900T using the BariatricPal App
  22. I'm scheduled for 7 am EST. I have to be at the hospital at 5am. We live 2 hours away so we will be leaving at 3:30. I'm so glad my wonderful husband will be driving me. I'm also glad to be going in early, (I'm first) so I won't have time to wait around and get nervous. Sent from my SM-N900T using the BariatricPal App
  23. My surgery will be Thursday, so I'm just a tiny step ahead of you. My first several days seemed impossible. I cried, got angry, laughed uncontollably, etc. All nerves. I was so tempted to eat something bad that it took every bit of my willpower to resist. However, with each and every time I resisted, I was getting stronger. I read other people's stories on here. When I started reading about people who were like me, or in even worse shape than myself, are today running for fun, doing mud runs and marathons, kayaking, enjoying life, I realized there were much bigger reasons than just the inconvenience of my size to be doing this. Reading about others getting stronger and about their victories over the battles that I am facing and will face, has been an encouragement. Begin now to look deeper inside yourself for your own inner strength to get the victory over what has had control over you for so long. The surgery only helps with the physical aspect. There is a mind game to be won, and that battle begins with the pre-op. It does get easier. The last couple of days, I barely feel hungry at all. When I do, first I drink Water. If that doesn't help after 15 minutes, then I get a shake. I only drink 3 shakes a day, some broth and water. If i can do it, You CAN do it! You know now that your boyfriend supports you and has your back. Now, you can show him a glimpse of this new, amazing, confident, inner-strong young lady with determination that is about to emerge when you show him that you've got this. 24. A lady I work with had told me who she used. I looked him up on the Internet and liked what I saw. When I talked to my PCP about the surgery she asked if I had considered anyone in particular. When I told her who I was looking at, she said she was familiar with his work and that he had a good reputation. All of these we important to me. Sent from my SM-N900T using the BariatricPal App
