    Vegas, regrets and a NSV

Having a kitchen should help a ton! I would have killed for a stick of string cheese lol. I hope you have a good trip!

    Vegas, regrets and a NSV

I thought the same, but that's how it is. I can't eat a whole protein bar in one sitting however. I'm really looking forward to real food being my go to soon!
  3. I suppose I'm just looking to share with others in my shoes. I'm 6 wks out today. I hit the dreaded 3 week stall I assume because the scale hasn't moved in 3 weeks. That's a long ass stall! I just got home from a business trip in Vegas. My plan allows for crab meat and baked fish at this point and I figured I could share with my husband. It was SO much harder than I anticipated. I had the expected difficulties with wanting to eat steak and all the other wonderful things that got me to bariatric surgery. I did not expect that I couldn't eat anything!! My stomach is not ready for fish or crab. I tried two bites, chewed well and hurt for hours. I was so discouraged. I had protein bars packed and ate those, but I really struggled to get any significant protein or calories in. I wanted to cry. I was so mad at myself for having this surgery! All this and the damn scale hasn't moved in 3 weeks! How do you not lose weight on 600 calories a day max? Then I went to the spa for a massage. And for the first time in years, I was able to wear the regular robe out the locker. The attending didn't have to discreetly get me a "different robe." Such a small thing, but it made such a big difference in my attitude. I wish my sleeve was healing faster. I wish I could tolerate a larger variety of foods. But, I know its going to get better. And it's going to be worth it.

    Can't get protein in

Thanks all! I'm going to try a few other brands that were mentioned. My goal right now is 40 grams. If I could just choke down a shake, I would be there. I'll keep trying.
  5. I'll be 3 weeks post-op tomorrow. I'm not able to get the damn protein in! I was drinking premiere protein and doing ok, but now they make me sick. I bought unflavored powder to mix in soup , oatmeal, etc. however I can only eat 4 bites of those at a time. It just doesn't add up to enough. I was able to try the ricotta bake tonight. Loved it but 1/8 of the recipe (one cupcake half full) was too much. I feel sick now. Obviously, I can't push purée any higher. Any suggestions? How bad is it that I'm only getting 15-20 grams a day? I'm not hungry, but it is stressing me out.

So I had a bad day...

Adding that I have only weighed in at my doctor appts, trying to avoid getting discouraged by daily fluctuations.

So I had a bad day...

I've lost 20 since surgery but I'm expecting it to slow down dramatically. I am super thrilled today because I have already had 24 on of fluid. No protein yet but that's huge for me. In a month, this will all be a faint memory.

    First week & Second week

I'm two weeks post as well. Living on water, crystal light, protein shakes and a very small amount of Greek yogurt. My sleeve isn't ready for more

    Had my surgery

I'm so sorry you have had such a tough time! I hope everything is heading in the right direction now.

So I had a bad day...

I had my first shift back at work yesterday and it is tough to keep sipping. I wish I could get 64oz in! My surgeon says no exercise at all until I hydrate better. That is bumming me out a little but I definitely don't want to end up needing IV fluids.

    Burping foam

I had that day 5 and 6 after my surgery. I was only on clears obviously. Then it just went away. Hope yours goes away too. Very unpleasant experience

So I had a bad day...

My surgery was the 12th too. I'm still really struggling to meet my Fluid requirements. I sip all day long but still barely hit 32 oz. I am allowed on my plan to advance to oatmeal, mashed up potatoe etc, but I haven't tried anything but Greek yogurt. My stomach just isn't ready. It takes me two days to eat one single serving size yogurt. I'm sick from the sweetness of Protein shakes and couldn't force one down today. I plan to investigate more savory options tomorrow. I only had 11 grams of protein today, waaaayyy below my target. Today was the only day I did that badly. I think it sounds like our sleeves are healing at a similar rate and we just aren't ready to advance much. It will get better. It's only been two weeks.

    Any 7/14's- post op?

Thanks! I'm chugging along. No puréed foods until day 21. I can add cream soups and pudding tomorrow, which I am very happy about. I think I can do oatmeal on day 14. It's crazy how different our plans can be. My goal for fluid is only 32 oz and I really have to work to get there.

    2 days post op

I'm 10 days out. It gets better. I was not a happy camper until 4 days out. You're almost there.

    Any 7/14's- post op?

I was sleeved on 7/12. I'm still on clear liquids, just added protein shakes on Wednesday. I feel like I'm doing well, but I get really tired with minimal activity. I'm jealous of those of you with cream soup and purees already lol.
