I love Jewelry, I sold fine jewelry for seven years. I originally did not care for diamonds, but I learned to respect them, and now I love them but would not spend the money on them even if I could afford the larger ones. It would just crush me if I lost one, or if it was stolen, or get mugged for one. I really enjoy the diamonique rings from qvc, and thier epiphany rings are so great, the ones I own are often mistaken for the real thing. I could tell a difference when they are side by side to real diamonds, but the fakes are so fun to wear and guilt free, no blood diamonds for me. I have a friend that wears an eight carat solitare, and wow its beautiful, and she dropped it in a parking lot and went shopping for about 2 hrs before she noticed it was missing. She retraced her steps and was astonished to see it on the pavement next to her car. She said it was the worst feeling she ever experienced. I know there was devine intervention for her on that one. Having sold so many diamonds, I heard all the worst stories about people that lost thier diamonds. I just cant invest in something that is so easily lost. The only way to never loose one is to just never take it off!! Thats why I love the fakes so much. They are just pure fun!

There is a real problem when someone has a candida overun in their intestinal track. You crave sugar because it feeds the candida, then It can manufacture as much as 1 quart of alcohol in a day. The withdrawal from the sugar is really the candida slowing down the alcohol, and not producing as much as before. Long term antibiotic usage or a recent use of any strong antibiotic can kill all the healthy bacteria that usually balances out the candida problem. It can survive antibiotics because it is so large and prolific. It is always in our bodies, but it could be out of balance. I had a Dr prescribe probiotics that were enteric coated, so that they open into your small intestine. If you have an energy drop about an hour after eating sugar it could be from the alcohol that is produced by these little buggers. This is just a thought, as it does cause you to crave sugar. I hope you can find out why you are craving sugar so much. Good luck.

Scarlett, If you have been on your antibiotics more that 48 hrs and still see no improvment, I would call my Dr. again. This has to get under controll. The cause of the infection is not as important as the fact that it must be eliminated. Pointing to the cause wont help anything as there are no clear cut reasons other than bad bacteria got a foothold there. We have bad bacteria in our bodies at all times, its just that when our imune system is strong, it can usually handle them. Surgery puts a major strain on our bodies and the bad bacteria can get a leg up as it were when we are in recovery. Ask your Dr if you should do anything else besides taking your antibiotics. Would hot compresses help or harm? How about cold to eliminate swelling? He should be the only source to take advice from, as he is the responsible person to lead you out of this. Please stay on top of this, and keep us posted to your progress, we really want to see you get better, I know this would be really scary to me, and you need to put your energy into getting better. Take care, drink lots of water and keep your Dr very informed. Dont feel like you would be a pest or that you should not keep bothering him. You need to keep bothering him till you are in the clear! Keep us posted ok? I want to hear that you are all better and on your way to total body health.

Do any of you with thyroid problems have severe headachs? My sis is on week three with a migrain and will get a spinal tap on monday. One Dr. t hinks she has a thyroid problem even though her level of thyroid is in a normal range. They cannot figure the cause of the headachs. She is suffering so much. I will print this thread and get it to her. She is an RN and is so sweet, I hate to see her suffer so. Thx for your input.

Happy Easter Gadgetlady, This is my favorite holiday and it is the most meaningful for me too! Its amazing isnt it? He is ALIVE! One solitary life that changed the world forever. Have a great Sunday!!

Ill fix some ham too, and the obligatory green bean casarole. The funny thing for me is that most of us eat pork on easter, I find that kind of odd, considering the fact that Christ Jesus was Jewish, and pork was and still is considered unclean. I hope my post doesnt offend anyone, Its just my personal thought on the subject.

Just today I was talking to a friend long distance that may want the band, and she was talking about all the misunderstandings that people are telling her about. Her sadness about others not really understanding were all to familiar to me. This poem is such a recap of our conversation, its like you were a fly on the wall in our rooms. I think a lot of peoplew will see themselves in these words you skillfully put here for us.:clap2: :clap2: -
Im glad your both OK!! This season is just getting started too!

I like the part where she wont let fat be the reason to not work on other issues that she might have. I have used the fat excuse in the past, it was easier that facing the real trouble. But once I was able to face those other issues, and suceed, that gave me the confidence to work on getting un-fat. Just for my health sake. BTW, I think she is drop dead beautiful!!

I want to know about all the wierd colloquailisms we have in the United States. I know a few but I think it would be interesting to hear about more and to know where in the country the saying comes from.. I never heard of opening a can of whoopass untill Dr. Phil said it and he says a lot of those things. My mom from Alabama used to say "gimme some sugar" and we knew she wanted a kiss, so how bout it America, what do you say that is only pertinant to your area of the States?

My dad used to cut arguments between my sisters and I and he would say, "I know you believe that you understand what you think I said, but I am not sure that what you heard isnt what I meant." He would also say to us, "I may not always be right, but Im never wrong." The funny thing is, now I understand what he meant. As children, we were to obey him, even if we knew he was wrong, because we were supposed to respect and honor him (his position as father) even if we did not want to. The other saying, however still confuses me. My mom would say "Listen to the eggs, telling the chicken how to hatch!"

I just love these!! I had a friend from Ohio that called his couch a davenport, and I could not understand what he meant, so I said, what is a davneport? He looked at my like I was crazy and asked, are you so poor you dont have a davenport? I went home crying and I couldnt even explain it to my mom. She said you poor thing, whats wrong with you? and I cried even harder because I thought she said that we really are poor!! My hubby from Wisconsin said "for corn sakes" and he could cuss by saying "rubber ducks and baby chicks" Dont let the door hit you where the good Lord split ya. O I love it! Jack, what does pin your ears back mean?

I hope you can "forgive" yourself, I think part of your torment could come from this. There is no reason you should continue to be tormented by the vision of watching that accident. Yes, you have Im sure said you were sorry over and over. You have great love for your children, and there was nothing you could have done to forsee even for a nano-second what could have happened. You have even warned us to be careful. I appreciate that because that was such a freaky thing to have happen. Ive been trying to find in my bible where it says that unforgivness opens the door to the tormentor, but Ill have to edit my post later,as it is late, but it is true, you can forgive yourself (not that you caused the accident) but It seems like I hear guilt in your post. Ask God to bless your mind and memories, and He will do it because guilt, shame and condemnation come from evil, and all good and perfect gifts come from our father above. Please dont get side tracked by this trauma, your health is important to your family. Blessings to you. -
This is hard, having a sis that could care less. That really stinks. I think getting a job away from her could be a blessing in disguise. You are gonna take charge of your life, get your band, bloom like a dozen roses, and then who is going to look stupid? Not you! But someone who stabs their own sister in the back, now that is stupid. When she is old and gray, who is going to be there for her? HMMM

Should parents be able to smack children in discipline
Victoriana replied to flabuless's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Time out? Sure said one of my sons, I just love being locked up with all my toys and books. Thats when commando parenting kicked in. This guy had spankings as a toddler and was pretty well behaved. As a first grader he was openly challenging my authority. That summer his room had only his clothing in there. He is 30 now and he calls it the summer from hell. When his two younger brothers dared to challenge me out loud, he was quick to remind them that they really did not want to do that. He is a happy and well adjusted man and calls me regularly to just chat. Spanking has its time and effectiveness. When the kids are older you have to find the economy that they will respond to. Now days its this, If I ask them to do something, and it isnt done in a reasonable time, I go unplug the hub. All I have to do now is start fumbling the electirc cords and they hustle. They think I only know enough to be dangerous. Like if loosing thier place in the games they play is a real trajedy. I would be furious if my freedom to discipline as I saw fit was dictated. Talk about anarchy arising. -
Im glad you are ok, now, and if that was the pastor, he will get his and more some. I know however that a lot of people have keys to churches, just about all lay leaders and maintence people, and of course the music folks that practice at off times. However, anyone who sees a stranded person in a church parking lot should definately help. That was not only rude but he put you in the path of real danger. I wonder how he would feel if something really bad had happened to you. I would suggest that a call to the church office might just help the next person in your shoes. What a sad, sad, man that is to do that to you. I wish to say Im sorry for his behavior, as a Christian it puts a damper on all of us.
