I found this great website to make your own music station. Its called www.pandora.com and you name your station, list a few artist or songs that you like and then they play more based on your input! I love it I dance around the house and if it plays a song I don't like, I give it a thumbs down on the guide us button. If you like it you give it a thumbs up! and guess what, it "learns" from your selections. Its great to exercise to. I did a search on music from my hi school years and entered a bunch of artist and song titles. Its grovin on a Saturday afternoon! It takes a little while to get to know you but it really gets interesting. Its a kind of learning technology that starts to categorize your likes and dislikes and keeps picking new songs. You can even create a favorites list. I just love it:cool: :clap2:

Isn't it fun? Ive been trippin down memory lane all day. I even got out my high school album. Its really weird like a time warp for me. Ive been listening to great Christian music for a long time now and I still love it. I haven't listened to oldie stations because they mix up so many different things. This music is from 30 years ago and I can still remember most of the words! How can that be when I cant even remember where I put my car keys last? lol I guess I used up all the memory space on my hard drive a long time ago!

I'm getting my first fill this Thursday and without knowing what to expect, I find myself wondering too much. Will I get uber gassy again? Will I be a good bandster? How long will I need liquids? How much fill will I end up getting? I'm finally on my way, My cardiologist visit today went really well. He was happy I lost weight already and wanted to know how I feel. I think I might be his first banded patient as most everyone else is older than me in the waiting room. He wanted to know how it feels and where exactly is it placed on the stomach, why is saline involved. I told him I was getting a fill and explained as much as I understand. I see him again in 4 months. He really helped me get the surgery because he did all the weight charting and wrote a heavy letter telling that the procedure was a prescription from him as all the other weight loss attempts weren't working. He said he gets weary of Insurance Co.'s telling him what he cant do unless he gets tough on them. So I bounce back between feeling good about todays visit and then feeling intrepid about my first fill. I don't know why its bothering me so much. I guess ill get over it. I have to!

Seattle Bandster Bash! (in Tacoma)
Victoriana replied to MerryHearted's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thats a good point hodegard! I think that most of the cost are for the facility and personnel. I think I will try to attend, I'm not sure I can just yet. I know I would like to! Molly Molly, do you want to carpool? Just a thought. -
When I get delayed for some reason, I try to think that God needed me to arrive at my destination later for a reason only known to Him. It helps. I have had many Dr. change insurance procedures and even one Dr. changed from paper files to all electronic ones. The office had to scan every document and transcribe every note electronically. They even e-mail prescriptions. I didn't have any delays and was shocked at the way the Dr. kept all records electronically now its so convenient for her to check history with the search button! That office your dealing with needs a better office supervisor. Have you spoken with the Dr. about this? What does he say about all the problems? I don't think there should be this much confusion either. I agree with gentlespirit.

Do any of you go to monthly Lap Band Support Meetings with your Dr.'s office?
Victoriana replied to "with the band"'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thats a good idea to meet other bansters at a meal or something, it would help newbies learn to order off the menu and slow down to eat etc. I would like to do that too. -
I don't think ill ever eat another banana as long as I live!!:omg:

I had a similar incident, I ordered a scurb brush and cleaner set ant the lipuid cleaner had leaked just a little but enough to get jippid, I called and they sent out an entire new set! no extra postage. I have loved their customer service, thats why I keep shopping there! I agree, spread the word, I do and I just posted something about their rings, Just love the bling bling to pieces!

Hate to Be a NSV "Pig" Today, but....
Victoriana replied to Margo's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Good Job. One of my goals is to get back into my wedding band. In the mean time I found some pretty nice rings on QVC. I like the ones that are called Dominique, the epiphany collection and for less than 50 bucks you can have a real nice looker. They don't tarnish etc. I just loooove jewelry! Bling Bling. -
She said she has never had any kind of surgery, i.e. facelift, tummytuck.
-
Did you feel sort of etherial and looking for a reality check? I think thats a great experience. I dont know if I really had a NSV but it was something I noticed, and liked, This morning when our pastor asked us to bow our heads for prayer, my chin actyally reached my chest instead of pushing into my poochy neck! It was wierd yet exciting!

The fear starts to go away as you begin to long for the things it will make better. I fell in love with the hope, then I wasnt scared anymore. You know that I really felt good about it? I was on my way to getting banded!

That Dumpster site is soo weird, what do they do with all that stuff? Where do they put it all? One thread talked about food and eating it!!!!!! Now Ive seen it all (I think). I lost a cousin to this phenom. She had over 50 Grand in savings from a legal settlement. She loves to Dumpster dive as it is a "frugal living" She has 2 storage units and no home. Ive not heard from her in 2 years. Anyway I think you're on to something, I do believe this stuff comes from Hospital waste. Its still really scary.

The world is waking up to our friend! -
I think you can rest easy if you were banded in the US because of the way surgeons are licenced, and the insurance premiums are already gastly, do you really think they would risk getting sued? I really trust my DR. he is great. Im glad you guys pursued this though. Its so bizzar, almost unblievable. Does anyone have any contacts with a news agency? Id like to see these guys blasted.:beard :pirate :ogre :dead

Have you tried patches and chewing on pencils? I quit years ago and gained weight like crazy. I also tried all the diet pills i could find, legal and otherwise. shhh and guess what it wasnt my stomach that was making me eat in the beginning it was my head. Your DR doesnt sound very sharp to me...sorry. All medicine is processed thorugh one vital organ or another. Kidneys or Liver..and the long term effect hasnt really been disclosed. Are you supposed to be on those magic pills for the rest of your life? Have you ever wondered why America has so many Kidney failures compared to most other developed countries? We are medicine happy, and dont use herbs like most others do. Start with a new Dr. and Document the lmonthly weigh ins, get the band and then go back when you get healthy and show him a thing or two, I think he gets mony from drug Co. to push pills. It really irks me when someone wants to take action to help themselves be healty and then have a professional knock the pins from under you. Its your body. Follow your heart. Its usually pretty good to you right?

I think that insurance companies are so stupid. Its HEALTHY to get a band. IN the long run they save money for cryng out loud! I think it is perfectly right to get full time and use the insurance. Your work earns you the right. And reducing time later is not going to be a problem..When I worked retail, we were "compelled" to hire part timers to avoid the insurance benifit costs. And do you think they gave it a second thought to lay off right after Christmas and inventory? It happens every day!

Its amazing how our personalities are guiding our who to tell list. I blurt out also because of my excitment, and my mom who is married to a body worshiper ugh. I wanted them to know just to shut Him up lol. I havent told my mother in law, we are very close and she is a health bug. twenty yeares ago she made comments about my gaining, then she grew up. She is very sweet to me. She lives in CA and will visit this summer and I want to surprise her. Its going to be a blast, Im sure she will cry with tears of Joy for me. I told her a year ago that I know someday I will be thin again, I just didnt know when. Thats about when I started research on my bandaid.

I think Star doesnt look good not because of the weight loss, but I think her spirit cant hide the fact that she is so in the public eye and cannot really be private. There is no doubt n my mind that she had somekind of surgery and i dont care either. But her spirit isnt free to even be who she used to be as her humor is gone, her joi de vive lost. I hope not continuing into depression. Its no shame to want desperatly to be healthy. I think conflict inside between wanting to be private and healthy causes pain inside. Dont people realize that we can never please everyone so its bettet to be true to self and love the onein the mirror?

I dont have any fills yet but would a little water help, I bet you tried that alre:( ady. I hope you get results and relief soon.

Hope you feel better soon, Yes Drink Drink and Drink some more. Ill join you. I do not have a kidney infection but I know Kidney stones can come from not enough water too. Heres to good health! -
Schel, I know that the coughing hurts, Are you able to take nyquil or something? Drink lots of water, that helps the phlegm move out quicker and easier. Call your DR. I think your port should be fine though
