He rode the EL to the Mercantile to sell newspapers and he also sold papers in front of the Chicago theater. P.J. from Va. trying to get banded need help!
Victoriana replied to ryanjoey's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Your going to be fine, you are arresting you weight and you children are young enough to start turning around any bad habits. They will grow out of any excess weight now. I'm proud of you, you have a lot of fine living ahead of you!! -
I have found many interesting things about me and food, like it had some kind of friendship or something. It was all a one way affair believe me. So how did your surgery go? I hope it went fine, and look forward to hearing from you soon.

Jessiebear, hows you dad doing? I'm so amazed that the gall bladder turned out to he his heart!!! Was he in pain? or suffer reflux, or what caused him to think he had gall bladder problems. A bypass is quite amazing in itself, did they have time to tell you of all the things they do in the process? I can be quite disarming, like the amount of tubes and IV's and such. How are you coping? I hope that peace is yours and your dads. I've been praying for a baptism of peace to be upon your family. Just soaking you all through and through. I know you are busy, so even if you put a thumbs up emoticon we can know to keep praying and that you are all doing OK. Thanks!!

Interesting possible lapband complication...
Victoriana replied to vluckey's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm happy to say that banding was the that my reflux went away. I found a change right away, granted I started loosing too. Ive been off my reflux meds for a long time. It was one of the first to go. As for my allergies, I think I had a virus of some sort that kept changing. It would sort of go for about 5 days then return, but actually Ive been symptom free for quite a while now! YEahh baby! I just wanted to raise a flag to the fact that some problems are blamed on the band and really there is something more than at the surface. I'm sorry for you too Vlucky. Reflux really needs to be followed, as do nodes. Your voice is precious to have!! -

I hope your nodes go away, worship is so wonderful, just don't sing loud, let the mike handle the volume. As far as the band and reflux. My reflux went away with the band, I thought it was because there is one more thing that the bile would have to negotiate around. Personally I would find it hard to believe that the nodes were caused or even irritated by the band. O BTW My ent thought that my allergies were irritated by the band, Whats up with that? I just think that when someone cant explain away the problem, they blame something that they cant be sued for!! -
If I were you I would ask the Dr. what they prefer that you do and follow that lead as they are responsible for your best. And BTW, don't get so down about the ice cream, there is a little calcium there you know!!:second:

Hi Donna B, Seattle is a windy city, but I usually have flimsy raincoats on and they do flap up but not over my head lolll I just go a visual. anyway, I do love art and I express myself in painting, bead work, floral arranging, and lots of crafts. I am taking up Mosaic this summer. I have had the pleasure of upholstery, lamp making and lampshade making. I acquired a lot of bohemian crystal lamp parts that are red, green, and blue crystal that has cut patterns in them so of course it takes a lot of searching to find antique parts to assemble just one lamp, I think half the fun is in the hunt. As far as the painting is concerned, I did seven veggietails murals for my church nursery, then after a few years they had to expand and tear down those walls, so now all I have are photo's of those, and I did a 180ft wide canvas background for our stage that is the land of Palestine, I think it was 30 feet hi and i scared the bejeebies out of our pastor when i was hanging off of the scaffolding. Haa that was great. I mean it was a lot of fun contorting through those scaffolds. That is still around and comes out occasionally, most of our sets are contemporary now though. I love gardening, but I have a harder time with that than I wish as my knees are in rebellion. I just love flowers. I also get a charge out of creating huge vegetable platters for parties. I get all kinds of ideas just looking at all the wonderful colors in veggies. Such eye candy. I have had a great time looking at everyone's work, its all really terrific, I believe that everyone has a few talents that are undiscovered, and we should try them all through our lives. I know that i am not a musician, although I love music, My eyes aren't good at reading music, they just don't seem to connect with it. As far as how did I learn what I do, I just play at most of it and I did have art in Hi school, and from there it took on a life of its own. The flowers developed when I helped someone out with their own floral work. I also learned about merchandising with my career in retail. so i guess I could say it is a combination of life experiences. I would just encourage everyone to give it a try and have fun. If it becomes work or stressful, then give it up and try something else, there are a billion things to explore. its good for the brain!!!!

Dear Vines, I don't know how Ive missed this thread, I am so sorry to hear of your mom diagnosis and of course to hear of your tumor. I think most everyone would be very animated to know that their death is very soon, I mean you hardly get to experience the emotion and of course it would be hard to know how to act in front of anyone while the shock is there. I cant imagine how I would behave. I hope your brother can calm down, stress really shows the stuff we are made of. I am hoping you can find someone that can help you with good counsel at this time, someone who is gifted in teaching people how to deal with so much at one time. I'm so sorry you are in the middle of this right now. And headaches on top of it all. I am praying for you and your family. As far as time with your mom is concerned, that is all good advice I think. Even if there is no communication, just being with her is good. Sometimes we make the mistake of feeling like we have to have all the answers, or have to say something, but just being there is very good. Call if I can do anything OK? I really mean it. Ill be there in a heartbeat.

I am learning a lot about automatic eating, I was just surprised to discover it as i did in my life, I usually don't eat in front of the TV, but when the commercials hit and there I was I was MADDDD, I really didn't know how much I had eaten and that was the worst part. I now know that i need to serve portions before leaving the kitchen and especially to not eating front of the TV.

Dear friends, I am looking for a particular herb called Habyzi. It is a middle eastern herb, and a friend uses it and can only get it from friends in the Middle East as she doesn't know what the American name for it.I:confused: know where to find Hyssop, but not the Giant Hyssop. Do any of you know about these herbs? I'm not getting anywhere searching the web. I do not know the correct spelling of habyzi Ha-By-zi. I'm hoping someone from the middle east will find this and fill in the many blanks I have. Thanks!!

I love old costumes, and I love the victorian stuff most ( ergo my name). You are an artist. do you make your own patterns? How fun. I have always wanted a nice winter coat that looked Victorian. I always believed that they were heavy enough to withstand wind and rainstorms, you know not flying up over your head.

Isnt it amazing what the wather is doing? It seems that its more and more extream all the time now. And it seems that it is happening all over the place, not just in the usual places. I cant think of any place that hasnt been in some sort of extream weather problem or another in the U.S. Whats going on here?

I'm amazed at the changes in my mind as well as in my body. I have a new peace and I can concentrate on so much more. I had self talk about food, health, self control, worthiness, 24-7. i couldn't shut the chatter up no matter what I tried. Its like I'm free to be me as someone is registered with that name here. So much peace. I like the results knowing that even if I don't loose weight quickly, I am moving in the right direction. It took many years to get this way, why should I expect overnight results. I like being kind to myself. did anyone else have new found peace? Its great and I love my band for that.

Good Job!!! I'm inspired and maybe you could notice more of on objective change if you had the same background behind you to compare the changes. As it is for us we can see the changes but a background with some pattern behind it would let you see that great changes in the over all width. Its like a third of you isn't there anymore, some shape changes too but your much narrower er (sp)?

Oh folks, I am so interested in the characters and I love the way the girl says I hate that I am so into you, Its scary when someone else holds your heart in their hand. Kat817, I'm praying that this discovery in your DH is really just a heads up to take new care for him, sometimes a change is in order to head off something really serious. Ill keep him in my prayers, its a good thing that this was discovered what ever it is because silent problems can become terrible surprises. Please know that I too have a cardiologist, its amazing the things that can be treated, please keep us posted OK?

Just checking in folks, do we have any praise reports we haven't heard about yet? God inhabits our praises!! Lets tell them to each other.. I have a single mother friend in my hood, and a volunteer from a service dept said that she felt God impress upon her to mail her a Mothers day card with a grocery gift card for $100.00. Wow, he is the husband to the widow and a father to the fatherless. WOOOt!!!

vericks, the pain is from your diaphragm. I know it hurts in your shoulder but that is migrated pain. Your diaphragm is distended when you are filled with the gas when your surgery is done. They literally puff you up with air to get the instruments to be usable inside, and to give the Dr.'s a field of view. Thats the best way I can describe it being a layman and all. sometimes later it seems to come and go. Walking around and bending over to pick stuff off the floor can help but it can also hurt. Just experiment with movement and see what works for you. I don't know but maybe the movement is just a distraction, All I can remember is that if I just sat there with the pain, I wanted to go nuts. Some say a heating pad helps too. I remember it did help me some too. take care!!

PB is productive burp. When you over eat, your tummy says I TOLD YOU SO!! Generally you feel bad, lean over a receptacle and sort of let it pour out. If you don't, you will start to slime, feel worse then need to throw up as slimming just increases the volume inside. So eat slow, learn to find the soft stop, and STOP or the band goes to work.
