Dear Tired OLD Man, Im a Republican, I pay taxes and my kids go to public school. Even my Republican friends that send thier kids to private schools still pay the same taxes and their private tuition, to me that means that somebody elses kids get the tax benifits that they still contribute. Why be so exclusionary? Last time I paid my taxes that money went to medicaid and welfare etc... looks fuzzy in here!!!

In my state, kids need to show 2 ways they got thier math answer, not just the correct answer to the problem. If they dont, their answers are wrong, even if the calculation they used produces the correct answer. Now many children are so frustrated they just shut down and dont even try much after 5th grade. Way too much repetition for what point? To what end is math taught? Bill Gates even cant hire many people from our state as they cant qualify for his needs. Blaa I have a math text book from Ontario,1920,Hi School, Try this on for size, The surface of a sphere is 1386 sq. in and that of a cube is 1536 sq.in. Find which has the greater volumn and how much. Duh wa? The answer the book gives is the former, 755 cubic inches. Im not even gonna try, my circuts would fry.

I am so glad you pulled through, I pray that you continue to be stronger each day. I hope you "see the morning" , which is when a lot of miracles happen. I found it hard to not dwell on the experience of what happened to me. I did a lot of reflecting, soul searching as it was. An amazing time. Dont rush yourself, but allow yourself the time it will take to mend properly. What a tremendous journey you had. And here you are!

I like Bush, there is no second guessing him, He says whats on his mind. After 911, Everyone liked him, our economy suffered, stocks dropped, Enron got exposed, but we recovered faster than I ever expected. Oil is under $50 a barrel now not $70. Stocks have capped over the 12000. Unemployment is lower than when Clinton was in office. We STILL have a totally voluntary military. GOD BLESS ALL THEM AND PROTECT THEM! We are free to have this discussion. We are all better off than 90% of the worlds population. We are blessed to have won the birth lottery to have been born in the USA! I plann on voting Tuesday, I hope you do too!

Hey John, I was so sorry to read your post, the pain of your heart was so clear. I hope you are feeling a bit better now that a few days have passed, but it will be a long time befor you can make sense of this, if there is any sense to this at all. There is a world of hurt and hurting people will hurt other people. This is why I love Christ Jesus. He healed my hurt. I believe that there is a spiritual realm that is more "real" than this physical world we are in now. I truly believe that it existed before the world was made and it will continue to exist after the world is gone. I also believe that there are real demons that have no other purpose but to kill, steal and destroy. I beleive that without Christ to protect us we are "exposed" to the damage these things can create. Your friends only hope lies in Christ Jesus, both in his forgivness, and redemption. He will harvest the crop for the seeds he has sewn, but with Christ Jesus he can begin to sew good seed. He will have to face prison, sadly and he will have to humble himself before God. But I also believe that compared to the holiness of God, we are all guilty and deserve what we get here on earth. We are only redeemed by the forgivness from Jesus, that we can all be reconciled to God the father. I hope you can find peace in the middle of all this. Evil is evil and it is real. We will all someday bend our knee before God almighty, either willingly or not. What amazese me is that while we are here on earth He gives us our free will to choose to love Him and accept his covering or not. He is all powerfull, yet He allowes us to choose. Isnt that amazing? God bless you and may He give you the wisdom to do what ever it is to do in the middle of all this. This is not unlike something I went through, I would not have overcome without Jesus. I will always love Him.

My heartburn was not helped by previcid, nexium or protonix. I was told to drink 1 tsp of apple cider vinegar. That cured me so fast, and it wasnt the taste of the vinegar. I was told that the sphincter muscles that properly close off the esophagus are stimulated to close by the proper ammount of stomach acid. If your acid is refluxing, its because the acid is splashing up where there is no mucus lining. The way to prevent this is to close the door to the esophagus. I thought this was crazy and counter intiuitive, but I cant argue with such good results. I am completely confident that the vinegar did this for me. I used it for about three or four days when I felt the reflux. It was amazing. It was uncomfortable for about one half minute, then peace! After about ten minutes, I drank water and was completly fine. Its worth a try.

May I appeal to vanity? I find that my skin is much less like crepe when I am hydrated. It is very important to you to drink water, it facilitates cleansing out your burned calories, ie fat. It really helps you to loose weight. You run the risk of kidney stones, and gall bladder problems if you are chronically underhydrated. I understand that for women, their skin is the dip stick of your overall heallth. Your skin is telling you to drink. Another thought is that sometimes when you feel hungry, you really are thirsty. I also believe that muscles burn fat better when they are hydrated. So to my way of thinking, you do not want to sabotage your own weightloss efforts. Drink, drink,drink!!

Sometimes bending over forward and holding your chin up will do it. I bend over to tie my shoes and on my way up many times I release trapped air that I think I just swallow. I know that after you loose weight, sometimes your ability to burp returns. so, keep your chin up!

Has anyone had migrains that caused vomiting with the band in place? I have a history of them in the past, but not for several years. Now Ive had a headach sort of like a migrain but not as severe, the thing is that durring dinner, Its as if a switch turned on and I was sevearly nauseated. I had to go and loose my dinner. I remember this happening before with migrains. I wanted to know if anylone has needed meds for this while having the band. I really hope this is a fluke.

You know what? You could have a serious dip in your potassium levels, as weitght loss and drinking a lot of water can cause this. Once after water exercise, I couldnt "recover" after about an hour. Your heart must have potassium to beat regularly and potassium levels can change drastically in day after day. I had an ambulance ride that day and my potassium level was called critacal. I had to take that supliment daily for quite a while to b ring the level to an acceptable spot. I also was experiencing dry and cotton like saliva, even after drinking water. I hope you are ok!

Thank you so much everyone, I was plagued by migrains in 2002. I had several diagnosis, My dentest said I had TMJ and gave me a bite guard, My chiropracter said my atlas was out of adjustment, my eye Dr. said I needed bifocals, My gynocologist said I had too much estrogen and finally my headache specialist said I had been a migraineur all my life but only recently did they get extream. My only relief came from zomig and imetrex and something I got in an IV a few times. The real amazing thing is that those meds precipitated a spastic coronary artery and I needed emergency angioplasty and a stent placement. That totally stopped my migrains. Totally, it was truly amazing. So evidently the heart was needing more blood and caused my body to vasodialate. I then learned that those meds caused vasoconstriction, waayy bad for the heart. Please have your heart checked if you have cronic or increasing migrains. Women have very different sypmtoms for heart problems, I had no classic symptoms, sweating, numbness, pain in the sholder or arm etc. I only felt cold under my left underarm. Really check out your heart. I found that for these recent headachs, I was gettilnlg dehydrated. The day after I wrote this, I purposed to drink tons of water and fast everything else. I rested and drank and drank. I ended the head pain and now I will try this before I try any meds if it happens again. I just was amazed that the nausea just turned on in one second. Totally wierd. I will admit that if I get any more headachs I will asap call my surgeon for his advice. I have printed these post for reference, there is a lot of info here, its all worth checking out. Dear Marc, I was sooo touched by your post. I know that you are loved even if you cant feel it right now. Your precious hands used for caring for others but not necessarily for caring and loving yourself. That is a betrayal I have felt too. How can I treat myself any less than I treat others? I am glad you are getting the band, I love and hate mine, It reveals more about me than any other thing I have experienced in my life so far. It also brings me many questions. You will need to keep connected to some form of support, we all do. I find this site to be very supportive and helpful. One more thing, I believe you are Gods masterpiece. He is a patient artist and we see the tapestry from the underside, all the knots, loose ends and split threads. He has the vantage point that is the presentable side as He sees us through the eyes of Christ Jesus. With perfection. Please know that you are not flawed workmanship. I know your service to others in your profession has come from the heart of love, and all good and perfect gifts are from above. I am glad to have "met" you my brother!

I have had to chuckle that out of the blue, you were surprised with such a nice weight loss, Doesn't that still count as an NSV, even though its on the scale? or would that be a SV? Dear Jackiehailely, No, everyone does not cough up black junk. This was quite rare and the DR.s are on top of it now, as they should be. Read the details of this thread and see the concern of everyone. This forum is for support, not diagnosis and that is just what took place here!

Dear Friends, I pray for these needs and you for lifting them up for the power of prayer, I believe that there are many miracles waiting to be given and I am so blessed to hear that so many of the needs seen here have been met and at least helped. The baby coming home, that is so special and the family with a new baby, and others where health has been restored and in process. I still wait to hear from the Lord about family restorations and addictions. I have heard of many miracles in my own life. God is amazing. The weekend retreat was so powerful, lots of freedom for the participants. Whom the Son sets free, is free indeed!! I really feel it in my gut when I hear about strokes, Our dear family and friends get so hurt when they loose the ability to return to the health they once enjoyed. How terrifying. I really need the Lord to help me to remember to pray more frequently for this!! Bless you all.

To my way of thinking, even if I did not loose weight with the band, I do believe it would at least keep me from gaining at the rate I was. I was on a path to oblivion, and Now I know more about myself than I could have imagined. Getting food out of the equation for me was purely phenomenal. I'm 100% glad I had it done.
