My surgery is in 2 days, too! I don't think it has hit me yet... I'm still so focused on staying on the liquid pre-op diet. I think I'm so hungry that I haven't had time to feel any other emotion lol I'm sure it will hit me tomorrow when I'm packing my hospital bag. Good luck! My Dr told me one week off would be enough, but I wanted to schedule 2 weeks off, just in case. Luckily it falls on Thanksgiving so I'll have an additional 4 days off. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App

As my surgery date is approaching (November 9th), I'm watching a million "haul" videos and reading through as much stuff as I can to get an idea of the "must-haves" before surgery. Aside from the food/drink stuff, what else did you find helpful to have before your surgery date? I just ordered all of my Vitamins and a pill organizer, and I got a few small containers (1/4 cup and 1/2 cup sizes). Any other ideas? Thanks guys!! Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App

Must-Haves before surgery
kayceelizzie replied to kayceelizzie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thanks for all the suggestions! I did buy some baby spoons, am stocked up on Premier Protein and sugar-free Jello, and am going to get some more grocery shopping done soon. I love the immersion blender idea, and will definitely make sure I have a good heating pad. I have heard mixed reviews on Gas-X strips... did anyone find them useful? Or just a waste of time? 3 1/2 hours?? You're a saint for sitting through that! My psych eval was this past Friday and was barely 30 minutes. I was happy I got it out of the way, but now feel like I got skimped on lol oh well. I passed the psych test and my final nutritionist appointment is October 3rd, then just have to wait for insurance to give me the ok to schedule! Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App

November surgery.. anyone else?
kayceelizzie replied to bybybelly's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think it's really going to depend on your insurance, if you are going through insurance. Most insurances will want you to complete 3-6 months medically supervised diet, but not always. I started my whole process the end of June and will be about 4 months from then until surgery. Unfortunately, unless you're self pay, it's just kind of a waiting game! But it gives you so much time to do your research and get prepared. I've learned more in the past month than I did in the year before I made the final decision to go through with surgery. Good luck!! Also, are you from House Springs, MO? If so, we're neighbors!! Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App -
Weight loss before surgery
kayceelizzie replied to Frenchie1977's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My insurance requires a 3 month medically supervised diet. I don't need to lose a specific amount, just not have any gains. My dotor, however, said to shoot for losing 5lbs a month. I'm almost done with my first month and I'm down 10lbs, so I hope this lasts 2 more months! Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App -

I'm near St. Louis. I'm on the Illinois side but all my appointments and surgeon, Dr. Minkin, are in St. Louis. Hoping to get all paperwork submitted to insurance in the beginning of October and surgery date in November! Fingers crossed. Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App That's awesome! So many October/November surgeries!! This is so exiting to have people on my same timeline! Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App -

That's amazing! I'm signing up for a gym tomorrow and gonna start going at least 3 times a week. Just start with cardio and build up. I'm 338 and never really saw myself as being that big...until I see pictures of course lol so I'm excited to get this weight off and be able to do normal things without fear of being too big to do them! How was your psych consult? I'm a little nervous, and I don't know why! Lol I'm afraid they're gonna tell me I'm too crazy to have surgery lol I really don't have any depression or anxiety or anything, I think I'm just making it worse than it is. I did my initial consultation in june and had my 1st appointment with the nutritionist the beginning of July. I was approved by my insurance, and now I just have to do the psych eval and complete 2 more months of a physician supervised diet. I can't wait to get sleeved!! How about you? Where are you at with everything? Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App -
