I had very little slice of pizza at the end of week 4. I digested it fine. Then I had half a slice in the middle of 3rd month and I was rolling on the floor, in pain for over an hour. I will not be having pizza in the next couple of years from now. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I gained 5 lbs the week before my period. Then I took some constipation relief pills two days before my period was due and I spent the entire afternoon running for the washroom and urinating. Next day, I was 5 pounds less. 4 days after the period, three pounds more came off. Sorry if it's too much information.. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Anyone used Drs. Valenzuela or Cabrera with Mexico Bariatric? How about Dr. Kelly, also in Mexico?
Lema replied to Lori Orr's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I picked doctor Valenzuela because she was a female and she had more experience than the others on the list but I saw her for a total of 3 to 5 minutes before the surgery. I never saw or heard of her again because my surgery was a weekend and she doesn't work on the weekends normally. I would have appreciated someone telling me that before I made the decision of picking her. The person who replaced her was great too but keep that in mind before you make your decision. Do you tell your friends or not?
Lema replied to Lucky2Lose's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Tell her you want to be healthy, not chunky anymore. If you don't even tell her about the surgery, she will make comments when you pull out your healthy lunchbox or refuse to eat like you used to in the past. I wouldn't tell her about the surgery because that is way too drastic of a direction for her to focus on but I would tell her that there is plenty wrong with being chunky. It's good to be self accepting but it's also important to be realistic with one's self. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
I'm getting violent without caffeine
Lema replied to mollydeez's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You will have to give it up after surgery since the acid touching your fresh wounds won't be too pleasant so would you rather have this headache to deal with now or once you have had the surgery and are dealing with 500 things then?? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Facial hair *women only
Lema replied to natarshassleeve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been lasering it off every 4 months (it's not a lot so I bleach it in between) for over 5 years now. I have pcos and I don't have much hope for it disappearing any time soon either but I will let you know if it does. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Short hair or Long Hair?
Lema replied to finding_onederland's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have had very long hair all my life but when it started coming off, I went and got a straight chin length cut. I cried the first two days even though everyone complimented me on how I look ten years younger but even I am convinced now. I don't know if it has stopped falling off since the cut or if I don't notice it but it is a relief. I would run my hand through the long hair and at least 50 strands would come off at once. Can I have some yogurt now ?!
Lema replied to natarshassleeve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had yogurt on day 6 but one cup would last me over a day. Put some on my tongue and wait half an hour to see how it goes.. that's me. I don't know what your body would do to you if you tried that. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
I need some good come backs

"Hahahaha" then walk away. Don't let their gossip get on your nerves. It's none of anyone's business. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
I was so tired around that time, I would lift my arm to reach for something and it would be so sore and tired, the way your muscles are when you finish a good workout. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

My issue or is it his (the hubby)
Lema replied to Jen.R's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Maybe that was something the two of you bonded over through out the years and now he feels abandoned..?? How is his health?? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Where do I put my scale ?
Lema replied to bellabeans's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In my bedroom. I think as someone else mentioned it above, it can make one nervous and lose hope. We slip back to "what is the point of doing all this if I am not going to lose any weight" silliness. I weigh myself daily but I don't let the numbers get to me. As long as I don't gain, not losing every day or week is not an issue for me. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Do you all know of any relatively safe and chemical free products that help with the volume?? I ended up cutting it all off to a chin length straight cut but now that I am not putting it up in a bun, it's flat. Flat. I have never used a dryer and the last time I used a curler, I burnt my forehead. Don't know much about mousses or sprays either.. What should I do?? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I have this problem. I have not uttered a word because I know you all will condemn me to death but I have one meal only most of the days. I do have healthy Snacks and Protein shakes instead of the meal if I don't want to eat. Solutions?? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I think if I had been more active during the first few weeks, I would have lost more. If I knew this back then, I would have come back to work earlier. I chose to stay home longer since i work in a dementia unit where fists and chairs are flying in the air most of the time. I don't think teaching would be too difficult a week after. Low blood pressure Inability to focus Hallucinations Honestly, if you are that dehydrated, washroom visits are not going to be too fun. Fix it before it costs you tears. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

So I heard that five days before our periods, our bodies retain 5 to 10 pounds of Water. I am finding it very hard to believe.. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

That might be what is wrong with me. I had a few sips of one earlier, after I took a shower I was so weak and light headed, shaking, like my sugar dropped or something. I am going now to get some of the premier shakes that everyone recommends. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App When our elderly patients don't eat anything, we give them either ensure or ice cream. It's not giving them the nutritions they need but they do get calories to live on. It is full of sugar and other garbage. There was also a study on it recently which suggests that it's the worse form of a Meal Replacement one could consume. I have tried special k in the past myself and the very thought of it disgusts me. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Husband Isn't being supportive
Lema replied to luli1690's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If I were you and my husband did not want to support, I would focus on this process all by myself rather than babysitting his emotional hind at this point. If he makes negative comments, tell him to keep them to himself and that you don't have the patience for the drama at the moment. Once you have healed, deal with him. Maybe he is insecure and afraid that a thin you will not choose him, maybe in our attempt to fix our healths, we don't give them the attention they deserve.. At the end, you need to focus on your health and at this point, there is no room for extra drama from anyone. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

I have tried so many and hated every single one of them. I recently picked up someone's suggestion of premier Protein and got me the chocolate flavour. My struggle with protein is over. This stuff is already made, delicious and very inexpensive. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
