    Biotin. How much?

I took 5000mgs of Biotin religiously for 6 months with very strong nails and no change in hair results. I have stopped taking them in the last two months and have started taking two materna Multivitamin pills in a day. My hair is still falling but I have a ton of baby hair growing in my head which is pretty exciting. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. The first three days were not fun. I remember walking in the hotel with my sister with this miserable expression on my face and that nasty taste in my mouth. There were other women who had their surgeries a day or two a head of me and they were so cheerful and happy. I just loathed them. One of them told me that I need to hang on till day three and that it was going to get much much better. It did. The first two days out of hospital will be hell and tiring but then your energy levels will come back and you will stop feeling so miserable. Give it 3-4 days. 3. I was drinking green tea once and forgot to pace myself. I got a horrible stomach ache and started feeling nauseated while sweating. It all came out shortly after and in a couple of moments, I was good as new. I never thought I would have that problem with tea after surgery. I guess my stomach got scared and was warning me to stop. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Bowels after surgery

The first vowel movement after the surgery was of that nature for me too. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. I accidentally found avocados to be a great option for this but be careful as the high fat content in this fruit may give some of you a stomach ache. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. Yeah. I wave like a crazy woman at some of my co workers that work in a different building when I see them and get back strange looks.. the kind you get when someone doesn't know why you are greeting them. It used to hurt until I realized that they probably don't recognize me. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Bathroom help

Milk of magnesia or as I discovered yesterday, ripe avocados. Prune juice and benefiber is nasty and does nothing for me. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Night shift

Aren't you supposed to eat your meals at night if you are doing a night shift as you would during the day?? I used to do night shifts and will probably do a couple in the near future, too. I was planning on taking out my food and proteins at night the way I would during the day. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. I cut caffeine off on the day of my pre diet and I remember being generally pissed off with everything and everyone around me. I didn't even want to say hello to cab driver that was driving us to the hospital and I am a chatterbox normally. I was sitting there like the angry cat and my sister was giggling at how ridiculous I had become. Think of how nice your life is about to become. Your migraines will disappear as you lose weight so think of it as the last couple of weeks in your life when you will have to deal with them. It will make it easier.. 10. I have always wanted to have a tiny feminine waist. I don't recall ever having that. I would also like for my fiancé to be able to lift me up in his arms and not be terrified of hurting his back. We wear dresses at home and I have always loved to dress femininely but my shape has always made me look like a pregnant grandma so I would love to look my own age for a change. 15. My weight didn't move for a month once. I went back on all liquids and Protein shakes only for three days. The first day was tough but by the second and third day, my hunger pangs were gone. I lost 6 pounds in the next two weeks. Now I am not too worried. As long as I am not gaining, I am fine. I am willing to be patient with this process. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Protein Shakes Ugh!

I had to use my powder ones instead of premier Protein and I nearly died. How disgusting are those powder ones. Gross! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Seriously?

When we get the surgery which limits the amount or kinds of food we eat and then shed tons of weight off, it's a clear indication of the fact that we were putting the wrong type of foods and wrong amount of it in our bellies. We all have other conditions that contribute to the problem but the bottom line is that we had to control over what we ate. I still have pcos. How come now I am losing weight and in the past, I wasn't?? Because the surgery forced me to not kid myself but seriously change my eating habits. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  21. They probably think you have developed an eating disorder. Let them think whatever they want. When you reach a healthy weight and work on maintaining it, they would know that they were making wrong assumptions. People in general just need new topics to entertain themselves by. You do your own thing and focus on your health. It used to irritate me so much when people at work would comment on what I am or not I am not eating. I am a grown up and I was over weight. Leave me alone. It's even worse with our culture because putting food in someone else's plate is not a crazy thing to do and that is what they do. They just fill your plate with stuff and expect you to politely finish it up and thank them. Grrrrrr! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Protein bars

So far I have only tried pure Protein bars. I wanted to try premier Protein Bars which have 30 grams of protein per bar but the calories content of each bar was 290. I put it back on the shelf. Hoping to come across something tasty and healthier in near future. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Stuffing and bread

I was eating tiny tuna wraps for lunch and supper at 4 months out. They are the size of a spring roll and I cut them in half per meal. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
