I was laying on my belly, trying to sleep as usual when all of a sudden I burped some sort of liquid which tasted horrible. At first it seemed like it was something super spicy that I had eaten which I had not since its 3 in the morning but what is it?? It tasted so horrible and I can't get rid of it since some of it when down my windpipe.. I haven't eaten anything out of ordinary today.. Vegetable Soup for dinner and cucumber slices before bed.. What the hell just happened!? Is this bile?? I can and I will.

What is ppi?? I can and I will.

I didn't eat cucumbers before bed. The last thing I ate was cucumbers around 12 and then I went to bed at 3. That was alarming but things have been okay since so we are good. I am waiting for my lab results I will discuss this when I see my doctor. I can and I will.

This is another example of how varied everyone's taste is :-) I use unflavored protein all the time, in my coffee, in refried Beans, in any soup that I have, into oatmeal, etc. The brand I use is undetectable once it's mixed in and packs a big protein punch. I can't drink a RTD protein drink anymore, they're so grossly thick and artificially sweet, so using unflavored has been a huge help. What brand do you use?? Mine can't be cooked with and I too get sick of flavours and the texture pretty quickly. I would love to sneak it in soup or something. I can and I will.

I don't recommend unflavoured Protein. Unless you add something sweet to it, it's gross and adding something sweet beats the purpose of the surgery. I have to mix mine with chocolate Protein drinks and I know my body is just going to flush the extra protein out.. Waste of money.. I can and I will.

In here we will post about foods that we are scared of or food items that make us nervous/guilty. We will share our opinions and hopefully give each other insight on whether our guilt or anxiety can be justified or not. I am scared of the following items. Potatoes Peanut Butter cheese Rice Bread Ice cream (even two spoons) Home made yogurt Canned Soups I have recently had half a cup of small sized Tim Hortons coffee and dumped the rest out of too much guilt. I had apples with peanut butter and nearly cried from guilt.. I am afraid that I might be depriving myself of even the stuff that I am supposed to have.. I can and I will.

My sister bought me two tiny boxes 3 days after the surgery and I have only used 1/3rd of that box since. It has been 3 months and I have been using them pretty often. Get one box. It will last you long. I went to the hospital without it even though it was suggested and I regret it. I felt so bloated those three days. I can and I will.

Are you expecting your period?? I had one of those days and of course I didn't eat chocolates but I kept wanting to eat this and that.. I was panicking since I was confused until it hit me.. I would also not eat the chocolate bar chocolates.. Get tiny dark chocolate squares. I can and I will.

Water alone is difficult and juice makes it too sweet. I get too sick of flavours so I squeeze a lemon in my water bottle and I love it. I can get a litre down in a day and I am happy with that for now. I can and I will.

anyone have bad GERD at the beginning, but it got better?
Lema replied to silverwhitemoon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had it for two weeks after the third week. It went away after a while but I used gas strips to get rid of them at the time. And make sure you stay up for a while after eating. I hated the taste of those strips so I would roll them and take them as a pill. Took care of the problem in minutes. I can and I will. -
Food items that I am scared of..
Lema replied to Lema's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh ok I get it!I am still too early post-op (3.5 weeks) to even think about trying any food that I overindulged in pre-op. Also was diagnosed celiac at the same time so my list would have included pizza, Pasta, but I can't ever have them again bc of the wheat. So I'm not sure what would make my list at this point. Oh I know- chocolate! I hate pizza! And anything with cheese on it. It grosses me out. You should get your proton powder in chocolate flavour. I can and I will. -

Lol. I won't touch them because then I will taste and be reminded of the forbidden flavours and then I might be in trouble again. I consider them extremely unhealthy food. I am also scared of processed meats. I am about 3 months out. I can and I will. -

Anyone one else feeling too sleepy a couple of months after surgery?? I used to have insomnia and everyone keeps telling me normal people are sleepy as much as I am these days but I don't feel in sync with myself. I make sure to drink plenty of Water and am finally getting in the habit of remembering to do that too. I eat well too but sown times when I get up, it feels like I am about to black out. I have about 3 weeks left before I go to get my regular checkups and I don't want to contact the doctor for something unless it's serious.. Anyone else feeling this way?? I can and I will.

Come to think of it, I have been feeling nauseated too. I remember because that is when I check with myself what I ate and when I drank Water.. When that happens, I check my blood pressure which seems to be normal.. And no, I am not on any meds other than my Vitamins. I will give your suggestion a try. I can and I will.

First and second month are horrible. Things have calmed down now. I can and I will.

Diet cheat - will liver still shrink?
Lema replied to keto_jo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is a form of an eating disorder. Please don't continue to do this. I don't do this every day of my life. 5 days after the liquid diet, I wanted to feel something crunchy under my teeth and I did it once. After I did that, the craving was gone. I can and I will. -
When did you start doing poop?
Lema replied to rimmarrufo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It smells bad if you haven't gone to the toilet in a couple of days because all that bacteria is sitting there.. (Sorry) Don't let it get to the point where you are suffering everyday. I had to experiment plenty before things got back to normal. I can and I will. -
5'2 female and 2.5 months out. Lost 24lbs. I can and I will.

Crunch on something healthy and then spit it out. I can and I will. -
I quit cold turkey a couple months before the sugary voluntarily and had no cravings or anything. I am 3 months out and have strangely been craving it since the last two weeks.. I can and I will.

I wouldn't dare touch processed meats or rice.. I am losing weight at that rate too but I started with 173 and am 150 two months later. I am satisfied with that rate since I am hoping to avoid loose skin and all that. I don't want to lose too much too fast. I can and I will.

Same thing happened to me. Just smelling it would make me sick. I lived on shakes and Greek yogurt before and after my surgery. I would buy my ready made chicken Soup from Tim Hortons and then put it through a strainer and then add lots and lots of Water to it. It would last me 2 days. 2 months later, I make vegetable soup for myself at home and it tastes amazing. I get to choose which vegetables I want to put in it and I can control the fat or salt portions in it. I also bought some healthy canned Campbell Soups from Safeway but then added lots of water in it before eating it so I could have something different but not too salty or fattening. I can and I will.

How have you adjusted to wls life?
Lema replied to eliminnowp's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Pre op was more tough for me than post op. I day dreamed about every food and flavour I had come across and was dying to have it all at once during the last couple days before my surgery. After surgery, you don't feel hungry as intensely or as often. I am struggling to to eat due to my decreased appetite. I am not used to not always being hungry and I am subconsciously taking advantage of that by purposely not eating when I know I should be. It will not always be as difficult to refrain from eating all of the food you are thinking of. I can and I will.
