November sleevers?
allsmilez replied to mimigettingskinny's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They go by your weight and bmi when you started the program do you should be good. I'm a 38bmi now with no comorbities and my surgery got approved last week. -

Post op complications for ppl with low bmi vs ppl with high bmi
allsmilez posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My sister has been doing clinicals and has noticed a trend with post op bariatric patients being readmitted for compilations. The one thing they've all had in common is that they all had a lower or the minimum bmi needed to qualify for surgery. Has anyone else heard this or experienced this? -
How to quit sugar ?!?!?!?
allsmilez replied to Armygalbonnie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My story is exactly the same as yours! -
For those of you who have already been sleeved, did any of you happen to have a breast reduction before the surgery? I had a breast reduction several years ago before gaining all of my weight. However, since gaining my breasts really didn't grow significantly. I'm wondering what will happen to them after I am sleeved.

Because there are so many different plans out there. Some information even seem to contradict each other. It starts with pre-op diet, continues with post-op diet and the follow-up intervals and the long-term diet one is supposed to follow etc. It's natural people start asking themselves: "Is my team right? Is your team right? Or the team of another patient? In the end what is really the best strategy?" For me it would be surprising if there wouldn't be questions about all of it. Patients want the best strategy out there for themselves (absolutely normal) but in the end you don't know if your surgical team offers the best strategy that is available. --- ETA: no, I'm not talking about that there might be a team out there that encourages bacon, steak and pizza one week post-op. In less than a month that I've been a member of this group, I have already noticed some major differences in the requirements Frein surgical teams. For example, my surgeon does not require a pre-op diet at all. But there is another surgeon in his office that does. There are some surgeons that require a post-op atkins diet for life while others will allow the patient to eventually incorporate carbs. I had to meet a NUT last week that wasn't my regular NUT, due to a scheduling issue and I noticed that both NUTs, even though they are from the same office/team, they both had very different ideas and expectations. My NUT pushed Protein powders and bars. The other NUT was against those and only wanted patients to get protein from food sources.

Had no clue you had sleep apnea?
allsmilez replied to 100lbs2g0's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My snoring still keeps me from getting into a deep sleep and the doctor is still prescribing me a cpap ... Are you getting a cpap? I wonder if disruptive snoring that justifies a cpap is considered a comorbidity ? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Great question. I'm not sure if they will still provide me with a cpap or if it will be considered a comorbidity. I know that no matter how much sleep I get, I never feel rested. Also, I imagine that eventually, this could turn into sleep apnea. My results only came in the mail yesterday;-so I have not actually spoken to the doctor about them yet. -

I'm still waiting for my results ( I did the home study). I won't be surprised if I am diagnosed with sleep apnea. If my sleep will be improved then I'm hoping I have it. -
Insurance change in the middle of the process
allsmilez posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So next week begins my 3rd month of the 6 month process. So far, I've been using uhc. Effective, July 1, our agency switches our insurance to Aetna pos ii. Has anyone else experienced an insurance change like this in the middle of the process. Any problems? Set backs? Advice? -
I have mirena. This is my third one. I didn't bleed at all with the first one and had light spotting with 2nd and current one. Have a new one seated hurts like hell but still worth it

I don't recommend selling on ThredUp. I sent 16 quality items and got $20.88 - they sold all items and did pretty good for themselves. I'd rather give away clothes.I actually agree with you sorta on not selling to them, but if you don't want to have to deal with the hassle of taking your clothes to a resale shop and then having to take the walk of shame carrying out all of the items they refused then thredup is a good option. They also donate the items that they don't accept. I've also been paid more for some items from thredup than I actually purchased the item for. Woot woot!

Yes they do cover it. But it's unclear if I need 6 months supervised weight loss program or 3. If it's 3, I could be sleeved in July instead of October!! Whoa! -
There's also thredup. It's basically an online thrift store/consignment shop. You can buy and sell there. If you're interested, I have a referral code that you can use that gets us both $10 off our next purchase.

Hi, I am a sugar addict. Never being able to eat bread or Pasta again is fine with me. However, not being able to consume sugar in the way that has led me to down this path, scares me. I am in month 3 of the pre-op phase. I'm worried that post op, I'll still crave sugar and that my sleeve will tolerate it and ultimately allow me to sabotage my weight loss. Are there any other recovering sugar addicts who have had the sleeve? Did you still crave sugar post op? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using the BariatricPal App

Wow!! Ditto everything everyone else has said. I'm proud of you and I don't even know you. Lol! But seriously, people will always have something to say, especially family! Don't let them steal your joy.
