Okay, just heard on the 11PM news (ABC affiliate) that octo-dummy turned down the free house and 24hr care for her infants (from that Angel place) b/c it wouldn't allow a reality show on the babies or press conferences and releases! WTF??????!!!!!!! HELLOOOOOO!!!!!! FREE!!!! 24HR CARE!!!!!!! A HOUSE TO LIVE IN!!!!!!!!!! UGH!!!! As far as releasing the babies, I'm surprised that they're doing well enough at this point to even BE released. I thought it would be another while yet. I actually feel bad for Kaiser. They kinda got stuck in the middle of this. They took her on from an outside provider and now they're embroiled in this mess. And I'm sure will end up footing part or all of the bill which will then be passed on to us members. So I can look forward to paying for this mess several different ways. Yea me!

Ha!! That IS kinda funny. Just don't be signing me up for those movies on Netflix! [Hmmm... Does Netflix even RENT adult movies? I've never looked. At this point if it's not animated and appropriate for almost 3yr olds, we don't watch it!]

A porno!?!?!?!?! Ewwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!! (I mean her not necessarily pornos.) I ended up missing Dr. Phil altogether as well. Completely forgot about it. Got busy with the kiddo, work and had my teeth cleaned today. I'm glad to hear that CPS is now involved. They aren't always high on my list of favs but they do provide a needed source of service. And sometimes they do get things right. Hopefully they will in this case too.

Hi All-Stars! Well, called my surgeon's nurse this AM. She got me in this afternoon to see him. I could hardly get my hot tea down this AM so figured since I've been having a lot of problems the last couple of days and periodically over the last 2 1/2 weeks since getting sick, I'd better get in to see him. He took out the .25cc he put in 3 weeks ago. I've lost 5lbs in those 3 weeks. I NEVER lose like that! Guess that's what happens when you're not eating or drinking much. I felt a lot better and was able to drink a 20oz bottle of Water in about 20 minutes after the un-fill. He's mad at me. I "confessed" to eating Soup b/c it's all I could get down (and lunch yesterday, it didn't stay down) and not taking my Vitamins b/c they wouldn't stay down either. He's punishing me by refusing to see me for 4 weeks! LOL! "And I'd better NOT gain any weight. I'll be dieting!" LOL! He cracked me up! I didn't tell him I've also been drinking Protein drinks and I eat soups/stews on a regular basis! (I figured I'd send him over the edge if I told him that! LOL!) I love making soups/stews and they're so good to eat and warm (I'm SO cold)! He thinks (once you're healed from surgery) that Soups and shakes are evil. Slider calories. Hopefully, this illness, whatever it is, goes away soon. I should be okay now as far as getting stuck b/c of all the extra mucus (sorry!). I just have to worry about being able to keep things down. I literally have had NOTHING to eat today. I'm waiting for DH to finish making dinner and we'll see how that goes. I'm actually hungry so I'm hoping it's a good sign! A part of my feels like I went backwards today tho. Logically I know I needed that un-fill esp. with the problems I've had the last couple of days, but still. I'll get back on track once I get better!

Did anyone catch Oprah? I was going to try to watch but I had to go to the city to get an un-fill so I missed it. I kind of wanted to see what her dad had to say. Not sure if I want to watch her on Dr. Phil or not.

Hi Alex, Lately when I click on the "New Posts" tab, it loads the pages squished to the left of my screen. This is everything within the green boarder. The page itself loads so that I have to scroll sideways to get to, say "Quick Links" and my "Welcome" box is just about completely off the page too. I don't know if I'm making any sense. Everything else loads just fine, each thread, subscribed threads page, etc. Just seems to be the 20 "New Posts" pages. Also, and I think it has to be with usage volume on LBT but sometimes Safari won't load the page and says it can't be found or some such thing. Oh and before posting tonight, I emptied out my cache and cookie files just in case that would fix things. Thanks for your help!

I've been tight in the AM too. Lately it's been really bad b/c of my cold, now maybe flu. Today was oh so fun (NOT!). I try to start off the morning now with really hot tea. Gets some fluids in me, relaxes the band and with a decongestant dose, helps get rid of any other problems I would have otherwise. I'm finding tho, that I'm not much hungry in the morning. Sometimes I'll wake up hungry but by the time I get in the kitchen, not so much. Too, after my tea and all of my meds/supplements, I'm full! Sometimes I'll have a can of low-carb slim fast b/c I'm shaky and need the calories/protein (20 grams!).

I swear, with this story, just when you think things can't get any weirder, they do! And if she says he shoots blanks, well he doesn't now! He's got 2 kids with his wife! I don't understand why he would come forward. I'd've waited til they unearthed me! Why jump in to the middle of this disaster!?!?!?!? I'd've definitely fessed up to the wifey tho, just in case! And Gloria Allred hasn't been in the news lately so she's found a new cause to champion! She's trying to orchestrate all of this to "save the children and the CA taxpayers" and "allow Octomom to keep and raise her kids" but last I heard, Octomom isn't biting. I think the last time Gloria was in the news was for the Peterson case with the mistress who discovered her lover killed his wife and unborn baby. She was the lawyer for the mistress. She's a media hound. Simple as that.

How did everyone do this week? Best wishes for the next week! -
Last week: 184.4 This week: 184.6 Total: +.2 I'm actually ok with this. I've been sick and had a HUGE loss last week. Normally when I get my appetite back after being sick, I gain everything lost plus extra back. SO .2 is okay with me. I got re-sick this weekend so we'll see what happens next weekend. Ro, does that mean you're feeling better? I know you got pretty sick. I'm re-infected and feel like crap again. This dumb cold just needs to go AWAY!!!!! Shamrock, what a cutie! Congrats on the new top! Irish, I don't think you're eating enough! 600 calories is hardly anything! That's what I had to do on my liquid pre-op! Lellow, are you getting excited? Bet you can't wait to be on the other side of your PS! Congrats to everyone. Sounds like most of us are doing well! Have a great week!

Start: 184.4 Goal: 174.4 Today: 184.6 Total: +.2 I'm actually ok with this. Granted it doesn't help my goal! LOL! BUT I've been sick and had a HUGE loss last week. Normally when I get my appetite back after being sick, I gain everything lost plus extra back. SO .2 is okay with me. I got re-sick this weekend so we'll see what happens next weekend. Have a great week everyone! -

Do you get sick of other people.......
heartfire replied to lacasst's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Where in the heck did they get THAT idea?! That's CRAZY!! <sigh> I hate people. -
Congratulations!!!!

The only problem I have had with pork so far is that it just takes too bloody long to chew it enough to be able to swallow it! Goodness, I get tired of chewing! LOL! And if it's a little dry! Forget it! Takes forever to eat. I usually give up after a few bites, moist or dry. chicken I don't have any problems with. If it's dry, I'm wanting to drink tho so that's difficult. I can't deal with fat or gristle of any kind. But that was a "thing" of mine before surgery anyway. Just seems to be a lot worse since surgery and that's saying something! Sweet tooth, not so much but I find if I'm having a hard day of eating, I want tortilla chips with cheddar cheese and salsa all over them! Sliced black olives on top is nice too! :tt2: Even if I'm getting a little stuck on other foods, this always seems to go down just fine. Pity.

Is Casey Anthony guilty?
heartfire replied to Carrie_C's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I agree. Guilty. -
You know Patty, you get off on calling others SO JUDGMENTAL, and casting stones, and how dare they, that is so NOT being christian, etc, etc,... blah, blah, blah. And yet, you continually do the SAME EXACT THING!!!!!!! And the word "premature" is very accurate in the case of these children. It is a fact of their birth and they will always BE premature because they were born BEFORE they were matured in the womb. It doesn't define WHO these kids are, it is just a fact of their birth. No more, no less. My DD was adopted. She will ALWAYS be a child of adoption. It isn't WHO she is, it is a fact of her young life. So do we change that somehow because we don't like the term (not me, but others)? A person who was born disabled, will ALWAYS be disabled. It is not WHO they are, it is just a fact of their life. It doesn't define them (for those who don't let it define them). It is just fact. Do we change the name of their disability because someone doesn't like the medical term for it? I am trying to make a point here but I'm seriously in doubt that you'll get it. I don't know why I keep trying.

I care! They are the ones with all the training, etc. Do you listen to what your band dr says or do you just tell him to blow it out his... ear? Patty, your posts are like train wrecks. I just can't help myself. I have to read and am usually just amazed at the fact that you just don't live in reality. And there's never any logic to your posts! And again, yes, preemies are considered preemie for their entire lives. They did NOT finish their gestation in the womb. They can not make up that time. They may be physically fine and thriving but they are still premature and always will be. This is not the opinion of one fly by night doctor in the medical community but hundreds of EXPERTS that have done their research, treatments and studies. Last I heard, you have never been a doctor, tho it seems you've done everything else in your life. And KAT, I love your posts. You're always so eloquent.
-
Actually Patty, you ARE wrong. The Medical Community considers babies born prematurely to always be premature. They may be doing great and thriving, as is my 9 yr old nephew, but they are always considered premature MEDICALLY.

Friday Morning Weigh-Ins - Friday the 13th of Feb
heartfire replied to lellow's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thank, Brad. I'm feeling better each day. I was able to miss the cold D had in January but I wasn't able to get away from this one! DD starts preschool in the fall and I KNOW we're in for it! I used to teach preschool so I know what we're in for. NOT looking forward to it! LOL! I hear ya on the junk food. What continually amazes me is the amount I eat now compared with before surgery. Even when I go overboard now, it's not even comparable to a slow day before surgery. And sometimes, I don't even want the junk! I'm working on getting out of the "diet" mentality as well and it's hard. When you've spent so many years doing it, it almost becomes second nature. Now if I want a cheeseburger, I have one. Takes me 2 meals now to eat it tho! And I'm not scarfing down a huge order of fries with it either! Same with pizza, before it was 4 slices, wait an hour or so and go back for more. Now it's 1, maybe 2, depending on restriction, and I'm done til the next meal. I find it all amazing. -
I guess I should be in fear of repeating myself but... Oh good Lord! What is it these days with the weird stories? People just can't live a normal, quiet life anymore, I guess. Everyone wants their 15 minutes. Or in the case of the media not being able to LET THINGS GO on slow news days, 30 minutes! LOL! I feel for the little baby. I hope they get it all sorted out quickly if only for her sake.

Okay. Looks like a few of us are interested. I'll post it after I'm done here. August All-Stars Easter Sunday Challenge. Sound okay? I'll post every weekend for the end of the week. I know most of us WI on or near Friday, so should work out okay. I'm going to keep it simple by just posting the thread. Y'all keep track of what you're doing! I've never done this before so bear with me! Night all!
