Thank you! Well, what are you waiting for? Try it on! I posted too. I was shocked! I don't know why you'd get in trouble! And by whom??? I actually stopped losing hair when I re-introduced veggies once I was off the post-op! Sounds wonderful!!! UGH! That works!! Well, what are ya waitin for??? That sucks! Sorry! I hate nights like that! WhooHoo! Congratulations!! Oh no! I'm so sorry! How are you feeling? Any better? Hang in there! PJTP: Took Dog to the vet this morning. Had to leave her for the day so they could take x-rays, etc and charge me $235 to tell me what I already pretty much knew! She's got arthritis. Started her on pain meds today and vet says she good to go on our walks. I just need to keep an eye on her and if she's struggling, return home early, which is what we've been doing. If, after 10 days, the meds seem to be working, we'll keep her on them and just maintain her at that point. Oh and she only weighs 36lbs after her haircut! LOL! She lost a couple of pounds in FUR! LOL! Okay, it's getting late and I gotta go eat... MY SALAD!!!!!! 'Night y'all!!

Anyone else NOT a fitness overachiever?!
heartfire replied to JuneAct2's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Wow! No one has posted yet today? Shocking! Maybe y'all are out exercising! WTG!!!! Good job, Slim!! Sometimes when it's hot, I itch after my walks. Don't understand it either. Are you more hungry since you've been exercising or is this just in general? I noticed my appetite increased once I started walking regularly. I go for my next fill on the 27th. Looking forward to it! Update on Dog! She went to the vet today and $235 later was told she had arthritis, just as I thought. It's more pronounced on the right hip than on the left. Nothing really there on the left. She's on pain meds for 10 days to see if they help. After that we'll re-consult with the vet and go from there. If they work, we'll keep her on them. Dog can go on our walks [thank goodness!] as long as she can and is able. Vet said they'd actually do her more good than not going. It'll keep the muscles strong and keep her limber. WhooHoo! The idea of having to leave her at home just broke my heart so I'm glad I don't have too! Was able to get out and walk this AM before we had to leave for Dog's appt. Kept it short tho. Looking forward to my normal 1.5 miler tomorrow! Have a great night everyone!! -
I also must completely disagree with the doctor. I was losing a lot of hair shortly after surgery and eating ONLY Protein and plenty of it. My hair STOPPED falling out as soon as I re-introduced VEGGIES to my diet [meaning daily food intake, not weight loss plan]. I get fresh, organic veggies weekly from a local CSA I belong too and am eating better than I have in years. My salads are healthy, wonderful creations and I will NOT be stopping the consuming of those salads anytime soon! Tonight's salad will have romaine, english peas, that I shelled myself, radishes, zucchini, cucumber, carrots and whatever else I can find in my veggie drawer! I'll also be adding black Beans, cheese and salsa! Don't tell me that's not a healthy salad!!!!! Oh. Any by the way, veggies have protein! Granted it's not a lot but there IS protein in veggies!!

Last week: 183.4 This week: 183.2 And had a sucky eating weekend so figured I'd be up this AM. No, down a lb! UGH! Hate when that happens! Hopefully I'll get to keep it but we'll see what happens by Friday! LOL! NSV Alert! Had to go swimsuit shopping this weekend. Bought a cute skirted tankini, 40% off and in a size 16! Last year's suit was a 20 or 22, can't remember for sure. So exciting! It's a little snug but not bad and will be even better as the summer goes along! Have a great week All Stars!! -
I'm so sorry! How are you feeling after the weekend? Hang in there. She's going in tomorrow AM. I'll let y'all know. I'm pretty sure it's arthritis. She's about 40lbs and we think 1/2 chow and 1/2 spitz. Having been abused as a pup, we also don't know what that might've done to her physically while she was in her growing stage. I know! But I HAD to get some stuff done that day. I was trying to get us out of town at a decent time on Friday! Whoo Hoo! Nice bike!! Love all of the above! The only one I have is a big truck! '99 Chevy, full-size, 3/4 ton, 454, crew cab, 4 wheel drive, 6 inch lift, 35 inch tires on 16.5 inch rims. I had to put sissy steps on it so I could get into it! LOL! Oh and it's dark blue, my fav color! Rant away. I don't understand it either. I'm pretty sure she's better off tho. Good kid. His birth father didn't deserve him! I'm glad you're feeling better! I'm planning on going this year. I'm finally feeling like I won't hurt the horse! My mom rides at a stable near her and DD's been begging to ride so I think we're going to try to do it this summer. Little scary tho! I haven't been on a horse in 20 years! And she was a bitch mare and hard to ride! Good for you!! WTG Fanny! Oh no! I've had chicken pox twice and have been told that I'm now MORE susceptible to Shingles!! I'm so sorry and I sure hope you're feeling better soon! Totally agree! I've got almost 2 acres that Tap can come play in if she wants! LOL! I agree, you end up losing the entire family, not just the parent. UGH! Hate packing! Best wishes on getting that done as quickly and easily as possible! Sounds like you had a nice break on the bike tho! Keep taking those times as often as you can! Great that her sister stays in contact. That's wonderful! I think the trip sounds great and DD would enjoy it! What a great story! Glad he decided to go and ended up connecting with y'all again! I'm sure it's great for him too. UGH! I hate those stories too! So Wrong!! I sure hope DD decides to get in, and stay in, touch with you guys. I hate organizing! I like to BE organized but hate making it happen! LOL! Life IS good! Glad you had such a nice weekend! Good for DD! I don't understand those commercials for the armed forces that have the parents and kids "talking" about it but the parents are hesitant. I know it can be dangerous, there are wars but I guess I just don't get it. 'Course, I'm married to a fireman, he was Air Guard when we met, I've been involved in the Sheriff's Dept and thought about becoming a deputy, involved in EMS, dad served in the Navy, etc. so maybe I just look at things differently. I guess I'm used to the serving country/community, etc thing. How was the movie? I had a sitter all lined up for this afternoon so we could go see Wolverine but DH is down in Santa Barbara on the fire so alas, no movie today! Gotta love the belly shots! NOT!!! PJTP: Went to my mom's again this weekend. Came home completely exhausted! I went to sleep last night and didn't wake up once! That NEVER happens! I usually have to visit the potty at least once a night! Or DD wakes up or dreams or whatever but she was totally out too! Saturday we went to Kohl's b/c I needed to look for a new swimsuit. Yuck! Well, I found a cute one, skirted tankini, 40% off and it was a size 16!!!! Last year's suit was a 20 or 22, can't remember now. Huge NSV! It's really cute too. Before surgery I normally would've gone right up to an 18 b/c it is a little snug but it's fine and will be even better as the summer goes along. My mom bought this: BOB Sport Utility Stroller at REI.com for me for Mother's Day! They were having an anniversary sale that ended yesterday and I needed a new/better stroller for my walks but just couldn't swing even the sale price right now. I was just going to save money til I could buy it but now don't have too! I couldn't believe she did that! Such a surprise! It's wonderful too! So nice on my walks now! Easy to maneuver and goes great over our gravel driveway and rough dirt roads, etc! Well, I gotta get. Gonna lose battery power soon and it's time for lunch! TTFN!

Oops! Chalk it up to exhaustion! LOL! DD hadn't been sleeping well. How'd you do over the weekend, Slim? We've had to put several pets down and it's never easy. Never! It will break you heart. Our last dog going down was a horrible experience and I don't wish it on anyone. She's going in tomorrow AM. I'm pretty sure it's arthritis. Great job! And don't worry about the weekend. We all need days like that! DD and I went to my mom's this weekend again. Had a good visit. Ate a bunch of crap. Didn't drink enough Water. Then yesterday on the way home, knowing there was nothing in the house, we stopped and picked up Chinese food. Figured I'd gain from the weekend. Nope, lost a lb from Friday! Irritating b/c I only lost 2/10ths of a lb last week! UGH! Oh well. Maybe I'll get to keep it and lose more. We'll see on Friday! Oh and I've been needing a new stroller for my walks b/c the Graco I have to muscle the entire time. There was one I was looking at but was going to have to save up for it since it's so expensive. It was on sale last week but still a lot of money. My mom bought it for me for Mother's Day! We took it for a test run on Sat evening in my mom's neighborhood and it was wonderful! Couldn't wait to get it home to test it on OUR walk! Took it out this AM and it's amazing! Just going down our gravel driveway is like going down a nice road! There is one road that is paved til the last driveway then goes into a rough dirt road and it did great! Usually after our walks, my wrists, arms, shoulders and neck hurt, not TODAY!!! Here's a link to the stroller: BOB Sport Utility Stroller at REI.com It's WAY expensive! It was on a great sale tho so that helped but I still can't believe my mom did this for me! Oh! And I needed to buy a new swimsuit b/c last year's is just too big. We were at Kohl's Sat. and I found a cute suit but not having any idea what size in suits I am, started with a 16 b/c that's the size pants I'm in but figured I'd have to go to an 18. Tried this skirted tankini on and it FIT!!!!! WhooHoo!! AND it was on sale for 40% off!! Even better!! I think last year's suit was a 20 or 22. I can't remember. I was so excited! Well, that's me all caught up! Don't know if we'll get to walk in the AM. Dog's appt is at 10:45 so I'll let you know what comes of it. Bye! -

You are very welcome. Always happy to help, if I can! There will be times when you think things are moving slow, usually in between appointments or classes but it really does go by fast. I look at last year now and it seems like such a blur! I really need to keep up with my blogs but I just don't think about it! I'll have to go re-read them to see "where" I was when I wrote them! That's always fun! Holler if you need anything! Take care, Jenn! Hey y'all! Maybe later down the road we should try to get a LB meet for us central Californians! Not just Kaiser but all of us! Might be fun! -
LOL Susan! I multi-quote! I always forget what all was said by the time I read thru and hit reply! This way I think I can cover everything. Sometimes I forget to hit a multi-quote button tho! :grouphug:  Wonderful!!! Glad you're so happy! Sounds like the weekend will KEEP you happy too! LOL! I think if you can afford to do it - GO FOR IT!!! Sit down with paper and pen and make a plan for it. If you go to school full-time, what's that mean for the household, how long will it take to get thru, etc.? VS. going back to work, what does that do for the household, how long will it take to get thru, etc.? Might make it easier to make a decision and with DH it would give him a better visual for you two to talk it over and make the best plan of action you can. PJTP: A couple of you on the "NOT fitness over-achiever" thread will see this question but I want to ask here too. Could I be hurting my dog by taking her for walks with me? Background before you answer. She's 10 and slowing down. I've never had a dog that I took on walks with me before b/c, well, I never WENT on walks before! She's getting really stiff and having a hard time getting moving when she's been laying down for some time. Seems to be a regular occurrence and whether we go out or not. She seems to love the walks and actually gets mad if we leave her just to walk up to the top of the road to get the mail! I really don't want to leave her at home but I don't want to hurt her either. Oh and my walks at this point are a mile and a half but I hope to start adding more by the end of summer. Thoughts? I am thinking I should probably make a vet visit. Yuck! Okay, I've gotta get off of the computer for awhile! TTFN!

Tap, when you're all done, your yard is going to look AMAZING!!! I have an Omron. I like it. I got it at REI.com. It got good reviews and was recommended to me by a friend. She has a different model than mine but I like mine too. Even if you don't want to buy from REI, they have several different types and there are reviews from users that help a bunch. I bought a basic, more inexpensive one. It helped too b/c it was on sale and we had membership dividends and I got reduced shipping charge, so with everything, it was still less than buying it at Wal Mart! And I didn't have to drive an hour to go get it, it came to my house! LOL! I'm always one for a good deal if I can get it! Oh and Consumer Reports like Omron too. DD got up EARLY this AM and just as she was falling asleep again, after crawling in with us, the dog barked and woke her up again. DH got up to go to work and that was the end of our sleep. Anyway, it was already warming up so we went out early for my walk. Good thing. It was pretty warm by the time we got back home. I'm really tired. DD didn't sleep well, then we were up so early, for us, the rest of you would be shocked! LOL! The walk was a huge effort to get through today. I think b/c I'm so tired. BUT we did the whole thing, I just slowed it down a little. Question for you dog owners out there. Dog is 10 and slowing down some. I've been noticing that she's getting really stiff. Having a slow time of getting up after she laying down for awhile. She's been going on my walks with me and I'm afraid I'm hurting her now. She bounces off the walls til we get out of the house. She seems to love the walks as much as I do but I don't want to hurt her either. She doesn't seem to have any problems on our walks. It's the down-time during the day/evenings. And it doesn't seem to matter if we've gone out that day or not. Guess I should take her to the vet. I'm thinking it's arthritis starting but I was wondering if you think the walks are hurting her? I hate to stop taking her with us. She barks at us when we leave her and gets mad. Makes me sad! Anyway. Have a beautiful Monday!! -
You're going to have to read labels. Any 100% fruit juice is going to have sugar in it, b/c fruit naturally does but what you're looking for in the ingredients is no ADDED sugars. If you look just at the NI, it's going to list say, 18 grams of sugar, but if you read the ingredients, it may just say 100% cranberry juice. That's okay. If you look at the NI and it says 18 grams of sugar but then you look at the ingredients and it says, juice, sugar or high fructose corn syrup, etc. then you don't want that one. So by saying 100% UNsweetened, that just means no ADDED sugar. Anymore these days you can't read only the front label or the NI. You've got to read the ingredients listed. Takes more time but it's become important to do these days. Especially, if like me, you're trying to eat "cleaner" and cut a lot of the added garbage out. It's hard.

Hello from central California
heartfire replied to amandastephens's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Jenny! So glad you found this site and posted on this thread! I had my surgery done with Dr. B at the Fresno center the 2nd month he was here! I think he's great! Fantastic surgeon! I haven't been to Peggy's classes since August, the week before I had surgery I "graduated" out of the class. I'm hoping that they are focusing more on LB now. If you have any questions, please ask. I had to pay $100 for the classes and only my co-pay for all of my appointments, including surgery! DO NOT TRY TO LOSE WEIGHT RIGHT NOW!!!!! And I hate to say it, but don't sweat it if you actually gain a little before your WI at seminar. That is the weight that will be your official start weight. What you weigh at surgery doesn't matter unless Dr. B has given you a specific number. He won't talk about that until you actually meet with him right before surgery. But once you are approved and have gone through the classes, do not gain any weight. He WILL cancel surgery!!! If all of your records say 5ft., then you are 5ft tall. Just stick with that. They didn't check my height. I have no idea if they have started, don't know why they would. Take care and enjoy the ride! -
Ouch. Sorry about the AC. Hope it's fairly painless. Ours isn't even up and running yet. DH needs to get it ready tho. We'll need it soon. [We shut it down and cover it up for the winter.] LOL! Ummm, that's the low overnight temp I set my HEATER at in the winter, in case the fire in the woodstove goes out overnight! I'm cold all the time now too. I'm actually curious to see how I handle the summer this year. I'm usually way too hot! I hate summer! Oh Fanny! I'm so sorry! Best wishes that all goes well and you find another buyer soon! Best wishes, Glouc! I didn't realize you were in escrow! Congrats! I really debated posting a pic of DD and our dog, even on this thread. It makes me a little nervous. LOL! Oh no! I sure hope everyone is okay! Prayers! Glad that the money hunt seems to be going well, here's hoping you get all you need for her! Prayers that you can find some peace soon. LOL! How neat! Did you enjoy your reading sessions? What a great thing! Good for you! The nerve! She just loves to HINT doesn't she? "Well, I need this so why don't you just be a doll and go get it for me and pay for it since I'm so lame and needy!" LOL!! I think I've said it before, but she really does just need to MOVE!!! Very far far away!! PJTP: Went woodcutting today. We'll be trying to go out once a week til it closes for the summer then we'll start up again once fire season ends and they re-open the areas and before the rain/snow makes the roads impassable or they close it at the end of the cutting season, which ever comes first. Well, fire season has already started here in CA! News is on and there's a big fire in the Santa Barbara area [southern CA]. Monday the seasonals came back to work so DH's station is full of people again! Looks like it might have been just in time! Better go deal with dinner. I made green chili, chicken enchiladas the other night so tonight is left-over night! We'll have steamed broccoli with it. Yummm! 'Night!
-
Hooray!!!! Don't sweat the last drain. It'll come out when it needs too. And you don't want to have to have it put BACK IN so, all in good time! And Plain, you ALWAYS know how to get a thread back on topic don't ya!! LOL!

I love mine! It keeps me motivated. Trust me, once you get one, those low number days are going to piss you off! LOL! Congratulations!!! Welcome! Just get out there and do what you can, as often as you can! LOL!!! Good for you for getting out in the yard! If I remember correctly, from another thread, you were trying to help your DD. If you can't get motivated, use her as your motivation! I know you want the best for DD. Sounded like she was starting to enjoy going, so GO!!!!!) BE CAREFUL!!! Great job, Tap and yes, we know you love the dirt and organizing and cooking and baking and... LOL!! You are our own Martha Stewart but in a GREAT way! She lives in Antarctica! LOL! Just kidding! I got out for my walk this AM with just the dog. Everyone was a sleep so we just took off. Went woodcutting today too but that doesn't expend much energy for the most part. DH does most of the work while DD and I play. I do help get the wood to the truck and load it tho. I'll walk again in the AM. I'm going to have to be getting us out of the house a little earlier for our walks. It's getting warm. 'Night All! Keep up the great work! -
Oh good! I thought you did but wanted to make sure. I've gotten in to trouble on here before by people taking what I said wrong. So hard when you can't talk and wave your hands around at the same time! LOL!
-
Oh it did quote right! She just went in and deleted her post! Oh well!
-
I was quoting mymy above. Not yours. Sorry! I didn't realize it didn't quote right. I hardly every look at my posts after they've posted and just move on to the next one so I didn't even see your last post right above mine, re: the veneers! Talk about an oopps!!! LOL! And I agree, sometimes, you do! Here's praying that BOTH drains can be removed!
-
[**************** OMG!!! That was totally uncalled for! What part of "I'm a good woman" does THAT fall in to? BTW, I thought you were leaving? Buh bye! Tina, I'm so sorry for the drama at the doc's office! Must have totally freaked you out! I would've been. Glad things are on track again and you're doing well. And totally ignore the... ummm... person above. Take care!! (From a "Michelle" but a totally different Michelle! LOL! One completely standing by your side and who actually reads the posts you write!) Have a beautiful day!
-
Tina, you look amazing!! How'd it go last night? Hopefully well. Kat, scary story, thank God you're still alive and well. DH (current) sounds like a great guy!
-
Hey y'all! Go away for the weekend and expect to have pages of posts to go thru and NOTHING! What the heck! LOL! Decided Friday AM to take DD and go to Sacramento to see my mom. Horrible trip up! Got stuck on the freeway behind a couple of wrecks. Mom's BF told me to take the next exit when I got there and they'd guide me on the backroads in. (I called to let them know I wasn't going to make it when I said I would.) It was pouring rain and DD was an ANGEL!!! She did AMAZING!!! I was totally stressed, getting low on cell phone battery, getting low on fuel and driving backroads and I had NO CLUE as to where the hell I was! Anyway, made it there safe and sound and an hour and 15 minutes after I'd called them. If I had stayed on the freeway, I would've still been there hours later! Had a great visit. Nice to get away for a couple of days. Then had a scary trip home today! UGH! Must have just been the weekend for it! Pouring rain so hard that it was hard to see the roadway and the cars around you and people were still trying to go 80!! Idiots! The second half of the trip home was relatively easy. Thank goodness! AND I'm thinking of doing it again next weekend for a b-day party! I think I might be certifiable! LOL! *Fanny, your trip sounds WONDERFUL!!!! Have a fantastic time! *Lu, did DH ever get movin' so you could get to the festival!? *g4e, we were forecasted for all of a 1/4 inch Friday night and maybe in to Saturday AM. It's been raining ALL weekend!! We got over 2 inches here at home! I normally love the rain, but not while driving on freeways with CRAZY people on them!!! *Ebony, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! So very happy for you! *Beth, keep it up girl! You're doing great! Have a great night all!

Hang in there, Glouc. I think we all have days/weeks like that. I know I do! I haven't been able to do anything since Thursday. I ended up going out of town this weekend as well. I have GOT to get out of the house in the AM and walk! In all honesty, motivation or not, you've just GOT to get out there and DO IT!!! I don't think there is any magic to it. Wish there was. I'd be first in line!! LOL! Best wishes! Okay Tap... This is the craziest thing. After I posted that, weather reports predicted a little bit of rain Friday night and maybe in to Saturday AM. Okay, great! Woke UP Friday AM to rain and it has been raining ALL WEEKEND!!!!!! We've gotten over 2 inches of rain so far!!! They were HOPING for 1/4 of an inch! LOL! Did you get a chance to do anything over the weekend? Gang, I will report back and let you know if I got out there in the AM or not!! I must say that this thread is really helping me try to stay on my new exercise track! Thanks to all of you! Have a happy Monday! -

Great job, Misty!!! Quick post this AM. Trying to get DD and I ready to head 3 1/2hrs to my mom's. Friday: 182.3 Wednesday: 185.7 - I got hungry starting Sunday and the next few days turned in to a feeding frenzy til I got re-filled Wed AM. Today: 183.4 So, technically I had a gain b/c I only COUNT Friday WIs BUT having gotten up so high by Wednesday, I'm okay with today's WI. I'll have to change my ticker later. I gotta get moving! In case I can't check in, have a great weekend!! Oh and doc filled me with 4cc! He'd left 1cc in at my emergency unfill. I seem to be doing okay. Bye!! -

Tap, if you're sick of the rain, would you mind sending it to the west coast? We badly need the rain! My DH is getting his firefighters back on Monday, so fire season is officially starting! I hope it clears just enough that you can walk home! I didn't get to walk yesterday but knew that was going to happen. Got my walk in this AM even tho I knew today was going to be busy and with deadlines. Felt good to get out there! And I made all of my deadlines! Close, but made 'em! WhooHoo! We'll walk again in the AM then we might be taking off to my mom's up near Sacramento. I'll try to walk over the weekend but it may not happen again til Monday. I think I'll be okay with that! LOL! Keep up the great work everyone!! 'Night! -
Emergency advice needed...

Agreed. Completely. -
Thanks! I've always got my hands in her hair! LOL! There are time where she'll pull away and shake her hair and tell me to get out! LOL! Poor thing! She must spend so much time trying to avoid things! If she keeps it up, she's going to end up getting sick all the time. Which will, of course, prove her point! (In her mind!) LOL! I think a care package is a wonderful idea!! You're probably right! I understand taking precautions and doing what you can to avoid getting it. BUT I am not going to panic. PJTP: I got filled back up today! Whoo Hoo! According to his scale, I didn't gain any weight since I'd last been in, 3 weeks ago, which was 4 days before the emergency unfill. He'd left 1cc in, (didn't know that) and he put 4cc in today. So back up to 5cc. I was up to 6.25 at emergency time. No big. Fill levels don't really matter. I just like to know what's in there. I'm taking it easy. Had soup tonight and will probably finish the week w/a combination of liquids and soft foods. Good night!
