Morning, Slim. Well afternoon now, I guess! Thanks. It did feel great and I wanna go again! Thanks! I'm sorry you're hurting today. I sure hope you can get relief soon. Thanks! I'm sorry you're in pain too! What's going on around here? Yikes! YIKES! Aren't you glad you didn't gat a large? Holy Moly! And good thing you checked before eating anything else! The day could have been REALLY bad then! Glad DH didn't go ballistic on you! Nice mowing. Only 3 more days and you'll be all done! Thanks, it was a fantastic day! Ebony, I just don't know what to say other than I'm praying for you. I'm PISSED OFF too!!!! What she said! Ditto! I gathered you were a nurse but I was thinking ER with the knife and gun club comment. ICU is just as bad once those idiots get going! Sorry your gutter man is keeping you up! Hopefully you can sleep soon. Too bad he didn't work nights! LOL! *Oops! Gotta go! Need to pick DD up from Preschool. Tomorrow is her last day. She'll be sad. This AM she came in to bed and said, "Get up mama! I got go preschool!" LOL!! Don't know if I'll make it back on later. I've got a Depo shot appt in the city this afternoon then I'm staying down for a 4 wheel drive meeting. We'll see how late I get back. (((HUGS))) to everyone! TTFN!

*Welcome KC! I don't think I said it earlier. Sorry about that. I love it here. Think you will too! *Fanny, prayers that all works out with the house! *Tap, all you had to say was it was slow and look what happened? LOL! *There must be a band conspiracy going on b/c I PB'd breakfast this AM. Ticked me off! OF course it was my fault b/c I didn't realize how hungry I was and how fast I went with the first bites until it was too late. HATE when that happens! *Ebony and Beth, prayers are continuing on the job front for you both. *Beth, hop you feel better soon. *G4e, so glad the chiro stuff seem to be helping! Hoorray!! *Spanking - was used on me, and actually by today's standards, parents would've been hauled in for abuse. We're talking wooden spoons, belts and a paddle that I do believe was, at some point, a small cheese cutting board - you know the small wood cutting board with the curved "handle." Oh and dad broke that on me once. So yeah, we were spanked. Tho no one else could touch us. They'd just call my folks and they'd take care of it! And DD has gotten spanked! *Lu, neighbor would've gotten a bill and I would've said something about it the instant it happened! PJTP: Had a great but exhausting day yesterday. We went to the park and did a really long hike! Nearly 4 miles. Well, it probably was 4 miles or so. Took DD's stroller on the trail. Tough but it worked. Some of it was pretty steep and/or rocky but DH managed great. No way would I have been able to do it! At one point, near the top, the rockiest, steepest part, DD actually fell asleep! She did get out and walk a lot of the way back down (after her nap) and she had walked a little of the way up. She did great. I was really happy with myself. I did great! The last time we did this hike was about 10 yrs ago and it about killed me! This time, I was sore but no asthma (I have Exercise Induced Asthma and we were higher elevation) and the only time I stopped was when DH needed to take a beak and get some water! AND I didn't go to bed hurting OR wake up and couldn't move! Only problem was my left heal froze up on me this AM. But that's all due to the spur/Achilles thing, so it's okay. It's worked itself out now and is fine, just a little sore, which is normal. So, anyway, Great Day!! Now I need to go to bed! Have a beautiful night and a fantastic tomorrow! TTFN!

Good for them! I always want to do that too but I'm in my truck! It's tall enough tho that I probably could "Monster Truck" somebody w/out too much, if any, damage to my beast! LOL!!! Does always make me happy to just think about it! You'll have to let us know if DS does have another agenda! But it was nice of him to compliment you! And I see no problem with a "virtual" slap to your co-worker! LOL! Just picture the whole thing in your head. It'll make you feel better. My "monster truck" dreams always make me feel better! LOL! Okay, think I need more sleep! g4e, in all honesty, I'm not sure she meant it that way. I know how it sounded but she probably meant well, it just didn't come out well. She should've thought about it first. I hate thoughtless acts of speaking. Has it stopped yet? Yikes! I think I'd unplug it too! And the ice cream sandwiches and cookies went over VERY well! I made some of the cookies into sandwiches and left the other cookies plain so they could do both, neither, or.... I'm so NOT a baker. Love to cook but not really bake. So I experiment on the crew when I get a bug to bake something! It keeps me from eating all but maybe one and DH doesn't need to be eating it all and DD would eat it all if I let her! LOL! Better to just bake it off and get it out of the house to those who have the metabolism to process it! LOL! Lu, she's doing great now. Back to her old self. Thank you! Nope, I'm here too. Just checking in before we head out for the day. PJTP: If DH ever gets his butt back home, we're going for a hike today. I was thinking in the Park but it's getting later and later so we'll probably do a shorter one just up the hill from us. Still a nice hike but I was looking forward to the longer one. Guess I'm going to have to play "mommy" again and call him to see if he plans on coming home anytime soon! He had to run up to the station to talk to his co-captain. I swear both of 'em are worse than women! UGH!!!! He left before 8 and it's now nearing 10!!!!!!!!! Well, I'm off. Have a wonderful day all! TTFN!

Anyone else NOT a fitness overachiever?!
heartfire replied to JuneAct2's topic in Fitness & Exercise
June and Slim, I'm there too. It's too dang HOT!!! I have no money to join curves and I'm not interested in the only gym up here. DD and I did go to the pool Friday for a couple of hours and tho I couldn't swim laps, hauling my DD around in the pool, ect, probably helped a little. I just need it to cool down so I can get back out there again! -
Good job! Sorry you've been sick tho. Nice for the WL but sucks otherwise! I have a HUGE spur on the back of my left heal and a smaller one on the back of my right. Sometimes my feet will "freeze up" on me and I can hardly walk! I know your pain! My foot doc has me stretching the tendon. Slowly pulling the toes up to the leg, hold, relax, do it again. I'll do that a lot of I'm sitting for awhile. If I don't, that's when the "freezing up" occurs and my foot doesn't want to work right. And in all honesty, you're going to have to send some money on good, comfortable shoes. I love my flip flops but if I wear them too much, my feet start to hurt more. I have casual sandals that I wear a lot, they're Merrills and are good shoes. Another brand would be Tevia. There are some other good brands out there but they're the ones I can think of right now. I'm hoping to avoid surgery but may have to break down at some point. One thing my doc said was do NOT get a Cortisone shot in the heal. There are new findings that the Achilles blows out after a cortisone shot. You don't want to have that happen on top of what's already going on. Best wishes to you and keep things moving if you can!

UPDATE: DDog is doing much better today. We'll monitor her over the weekend and if she's not 100% she'll go see the vet next week. I think she ended up hurting her self somehow while we were gone to the pool b/c she was FINE before we left. Thank you all for your best wishes and thoughts. I appreciate it. *Beth, I'm so sorry about your mom's dog. I certainly know how she feels. We put our last cat down 3 yrs ago and our other dog down 6 yrs ago. Before that, there have been numerous others. Doesn't seem to stop us from getting more tho. *Kat, soooooo glad DH is okay! I nearly tagged a dear yesterday on the way to the pool but we were in the blue beast so the deer would've definitely lost that one! I was able to get the truck stopped but barely. Deer directly in front of my grill when I stopped. They're thick up here. Which in a way is bad b/c the herd isn't healthy when there are so many. *Tap, have you tried "private property," "no trespassing," and "no turn around" signs? I don't know if that would work or not but maybe for most people it would. Probably not the "F" man from yesterday tho! I was always taught to respect funerals, processions and the cemeteries. I don't know how many times I've seen people step on markers in the cemetery. You just DON'T do that! What strength his partner has in making such a huge effort to get to the funeral! I hope she can make a full recovery. Tho she will have a lot of head stuff to deal with, I hope she can do just that and deal with it well. *Ceradad, I don't understand the disrespect against officers either. And I'm seeing it against firefighters and ambulance too. Just the other day, DH was going code 3 to a fire and he was passed on a winding road over a double yellow!!! And no one ever pulls over for lights and sirens anymore! I almost got rear-ended by a guy b/c I was pulling off, he was pissed at me for doing that and went into the other lane to go around me. Oncoming was an ambulance going code 3!!!! HELLO!!!!! *Oh Lu, your poor golden! Our last dog had terminal cancer and we had to make the quality/quantity of life decision. It's awful. My heart breaks for you. Thanks for the recipe! Yummm! *Hi Slim! *g4e, I'm so glad your pain seems to be improved! At least to the point that you can manage it better. My prayers are with you that you can find some true relief soon! *babygirl, LOL! on the ticket! Too funny! PJTP, migraine clusters seem to be gone for now. Thank GOD! DH had a horrible call right before lunch today. A 10 yr old drowned at the lake. His mom almost drowned too. They managed to get her back and flew her out but she's still iffy. They couldn't get the kid back. DH has got a brand new firefighter this summer. She's only been working a couple of weeks. And she's young. We'll see how she handles this. DH will keep an eye on her and the others today/night to make sure everyone is dealing okay. If not, he'll call for help for them. Chief will probably make an appearance later to check on them all too. DD and I made cookies this AM with the thought of taking them up tonight but it's up to the crew if they want a boisterous 3yr on their midst after today. This call today follows on the heals of another drowning a couple of weeks ago. This time a 14 yr old at the falls. DH didn't have that call but some of his guys did. Not a good run right now! Very sad. Well, on that note, I'm going to go turn some of those cookies into ice cream sandwiches for the crew. BBL

Hello from central California
heartfire replied to amandastephens's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Jenny, so glad everything is going so well! How is Peggy doing? I miss her. I really liked her and enjoyed the classes. We still need to get all valley bandsters together for lunch. Just not sure when or where to do it. Let us know how the nut goes on Monday! Have a great weekend! -
ohhhhh, sweet!!! Yeah, I wouldn't be giving it back either! ~~~~~~~~~~ No way am I going to be able to catch up. I've been trying to read as the days go but haven't had time to post and sometimes couldn't focus good enough so just skipped getting on the computer altogether. I've been migraining a lot the last few days again. Tonight seems okay. Thank GOD! The other night DH read to DD cause I couldn't focus good enough. He was gone last night so I had to read, luckily I've read this book nearly every night for the last 6 months so if I can get a couple of words, I can remember the line. Went swimming at the HS pool this am/pm. We were there for almost 3hrs. DD enjoyed herself. With preschool ending a month sooner than we thought, we took that money and signed her up for swim lessons for the end July thru the beginning of August. Hopefully she'll do well. Worried about my dog. She was fine this AM but tonight, not so much. Won't come in the house unless I call her, head/tail/ears down. I pet her, offer her a biscuit and she turns her back on me and goes back outside to lay down! I finally got her to eat one after taking it outside but she wouldn't take it from me. She only took it after I set it down for her. She's really off tonight. Oh and a friend came by to pick some veggies up and she NEVER BARKED or came in the house to see her!!!!! I see a vet visit in my future if she's still like this in the AM and if I can get her in tomorrow! I sure hope she's okay. She has me worried but I can't tell you that anything is for sure wrong. Just that she isn't herself and I KNOW something is wrong. *g4e, so sorry your day was so hard w/the new co-worker! Best wishes with the lawyer thing. That is SO wrong what the ER did! *Tap, ya should've gone home and back to bed! That whole driveway thing would've totally pissed me off! It's MY driveway, get the F out!!!! And I'd be trying to find a way to keep people out of it! That's just rude! *Lu, I seriously NEED that recipe! Please!!!!! Okay, I'm outta here! Take care all and have a great night! TTFN!

Thank you! I quit salt this week and I think that's what helped the most. I'm also just stopping, whether full or not. We'll see what happens!
-
Kristen, I'm so sorry! I know you are completely, totally SICK of that number!!!! I know you're looking at everything but have you looked at how much sodium you're getting? Just a thought. I've been dying of thirst and couldn't get enough Water, even when I'd manage to drink nearly 100 oz! I just started buying reduced sodium options and quit putting salt in my food. Hard cause I love it so. I'm not thirsty anymore. Oh the normal stuff but not the can't-get-enough-water stuff. I also think it's why I lost weight this week. Just a thought. Hang in there. I'm thinking of you!
-
Great job, everyone! And edel, .2 is still -.2! Last week: 180.7 This week: 179.3 Total loss: -1.4!!! Very happy especially since I need a fill. Have a great week everyone!!
-
Just wanted to post that I hit my July 4th goal today! LOL! Woke up to 179.3 this AM! I'll need to work hard to keep it and not go back up again. Next fill is in 2 weeks and I can't wait! On to the next goal: August 25th - 170lbs

Ro!!! You're back!!! About damn time!! LOL! So sorry to hear about your second surgery and all you've had to go thru. Really glad to hear you seem to be doing good now! Take care, heal well and STICK AROUND THIS TIME!! -
Fanny, the plans you have for your backyard sound absolutely beautiful!!! Your silvereye sounds small like our hummingbirds. I also saw some itty bitty birds this afternoon landing on my zucchini leaves to get bugs. Not even bending the leaves down they were so small and weightless! Not sure what they were tho. Maybe my DH knows. Hi Glouc!! g4e, I sure hope the chiro can help you. At least a little relief would probably be huge at this point. I'm sorry you need so much right now. I sure wish I could help somehow and make it all go away. Cold comfort, I know. Sorry. PJTP: Went to DMV this AM and got that taken care of. Found I had a VM on my phone [don't get good service over there] when I got back to town. It was my mechanic and my truck is done. I went over to pay for it and it was only $340!!!! It's still a lot of money but I truly was, until yesterday, thinking it was going to be several thousand dollars. So I'm actually happy with the $300!! We'll pick it up tonight after dinner. DH went in to work today for a few hours to cover the engine for his captain-partner. He had a board of supervisors meeting he had to attend for the Department. When the BIG chief asks you to cover for a few hours and tells your partner he's going, you kinda need to do as he asks. Truly he could've said no and nothing would've happened, tho it might have been remembered later but it really was no big deal for DH to do this. We only live 10 minutes from the station and didn't have plans for the day and he is getting OT for it so the $$ will come in handy. And it's an important meeting re: a drowning we had a couple of weeks ago. It's a dangerous area and the crew has been working w/out proper equipment during these rescue/recoveries. All they have are ropes to tie into anchors, no PFD vests or helmets even. Several people are injured up there every year and there's always at least one death, hence the "recovery" statement. Anyway, they're NOW looking at more equipment and training for the crews and the family of the kid has questions and wants answers, so it's important. DD's hungry again. BBL!
-
PJTP: WhooHoo!! Great news! DH's truck was a simple fix. One of the battery terminals wasn't making a good connection. AND talked to my mechanic tonight and they tore the transfercase open and it's only a little seal ring that broke! No major anything! In fact he said that it looks great and there doesn't seem to be any major wear on any of it. There is a kit that he's going to pick up tomorrow to make sure that seal ring doesn't break again. Apparently this can be an ongoing problem. Don't know how much it's going to end up costing us but it's NOT going to be the several thousands that I was thinking! So happy! *g4e, glad to hear the job is going well. Hopefully hours will get better. I'm really sorry about the ER trip. I guess it's good to know where you stand for sure but I can't understand why you can't get some help w/out having to fork out money you DON'T have! *Fanny, I love the little Silvereye pic too. Was that an adult? He's so tiny! And he looked quite comfy sitting there! *Plain, glad you're back! Where'd ya go? Are you up for a road trip to Lu's next summer?! PJTP again: My b-day is at the end of the month and DMV sent me a nice letter informing me that it was time to go get another pic taken and get an updated license. Oh Yea! Nice tho b/c I get to reset my weight. The last time I did this I'd gotten down to 190 then went right back up again. Well, tomorrow I get to tell them that I'm 180! Made an appointment so hopefully I don't have to wait forever to get this taken care of. Drive time will take the most time. It's 1/2 an hour one way. Way better than having to drive to the city tho, that's an hour each way! AND smart me made the appointment for when DD is at preschool so I don't have to try to wrangle her while taking care of this! I adore my DD but there are just some things that are easier WITHOUT a 3 year old in the midst! Have a beautiful night all and I hope your Tuesday is just as wonderful! TTFN!
-
*g4e, don't worry about complaining too much. We're concerned and worried for you. I'll be bitching again a little further down. You didn't mention the job. Everything ok on that front? I agree w/slim about people calling if they can't make it. Just not showing up, esp to a kids b-day party is just wrong! And your DD needs to get some new friends! *slim, don't worry about it, I don't have much of a "life" either! LOL! *Fanny, such beautiful pics. You really do have a true talent. *Ebony, sucks that they haven't gotten back to you yet! So glad you're having a great vacation! Second weekend of June works for me too. *sms, just doesn't seem right. Can you have a serious sit down with the boss? Not a bitchfest but just a heads up that you've been hearing stuff that's not true and you're concerned. *Beth, glad you had a good trip. Esp glad there were no dog bites involved as well! Prayers that you hear something soon on the job front. *tap, I'm sorry it keeps raining on you! *Lu, I can't remember what she smiles said about when she might be here, other than June. I hate the heat but other than Memorial Day weekend, May is already packed. PJTP: Here I go again! Warning! DH has been working on our old jeep to get it running again, he put a new motor in it. Anyway, went to go get some parts in town and his truck wouldn't start! UGH! Thinks it's just the battery terminals b/c it was fine yesterday when he left work and drove home after it sat for 3 days. My truck is still in the shop. I'm hoping to know more on that this afternoon or tomorrow AM. Thank GOD we haven't sold the car yet. Otherwise we'd be in a heap of trouble! On a good note. Had one empty container left in my garden and I've been trying to decide what to put in there. Went to the nursery today b/c I'd decided either a Jalapeno plant or herbs. Well, they were out of the peppers so I bought 5 herb plants to put in that pot. It'll be stuffed but whatever makes it thru the winter, I'll repot as they get larger. I bought Rosemary, Sage, Marjoram, Tarragon, and Chives! Almost bought Savory as well. I'm still thinking about that one. I'll plant them later this evening or in the AM when it's cooler. Oops! Forgot I've got a load of laundry in the dryer. Better get those out! Have a great evening! TTFN!
-
Thanks. Didn't wake up as sore this AM. Really strange. How is your pain management going? You haven't said lately. You okay? And how's the job going? Have I missed updates? Have fun at the party! And a happy and SAFE 4th! Good afternoon and happy 4th! Good afternoon and happy 4th! I'm glad I'm not the only one who's never done this before! I'm really going to try to make this trip happen! I was already trying to look up trains and planes but I can't get anything past May! I'm sure rates will really go up then. The train alone would be a 2 day trip, each way and if I get a sleeperroom, over $1000!!! Yikes! If not, it's less than $400! But I can't see sleeping in a coach chair for 2 nights! Yuck! I'm also already freaking out about the trip. Especially the flying part. Well, not the actual flying b/c I like that part but the navigating the big airports part. If I can, I'll spend the extra money to do a non-stop from our local little airport. I could fly out of Sacramento but I'd have to ask my mom to get me there and pick me up and she'd have to take off from work to do it. We'll see. And meeting y'all has me really nervous. I'm not so good with face to face stuff. Much better over the computer! But I'm going to work hard to make this trip happen. I'm determined. I have NO comments re: your MIL! UGH! *Lu, good idea for starting to throw dates out there. Guess I'll start. I'm actually pretty good for most of June. Weekends are: 4th, 11th, 18th or 25th. We might be having DD's 4th b-day party the 5th, so I'd rather not do that, just in case. BUT if that ends up the best weekend for everyone else then we'll do her party the weekend before Memorial Day. We'll just party before her actual b-day! :smile2: We got up early and went to one of our local volunteer fire department's pancake breakfast. So yea, pancakes, eggs and sausage. I was SO hungry! Got stuck on the first bite of eggs. Dammit!!!!! Thought it might go through, it sort of did so ate a few more bites, of everything. Not good. You'd think I'd know better by now. Was able to make it to the bathroom before embarrassing myself. So I came home after going to the grocery store and had a shake. It went thru fine. I'll have some soup later and see how I feel. Chest still hurts a little but I PB'd pretty hard and I think that's why it still hurts. It's an ache more than actual pain. I'll be careful and take it easy today. On a good note, I came really close to a July 4th challenge that I did. Was shooting for 179. Didn't hit it but got really close. I've never gotten this close to a goal before. I usually sabotage myself before I can get there! So yay me! I hope everyone has a wonderful and SAFE Independence Day!!!
-
shanny, are you still getting things thru? If so, I think you might be okay. Some tips: Eat A LOT smaller and slower bites. Chew A LOT more than you normally do. Try drinking a cup of really hot tea before eating. Esp in the AM and this will help with any swelling, if there is any and will also help relax and loosen things up. this always works well for me. GO SLOW! If you're not sure, take a bite, or drink, set it down and wait a minute or so to make sure everything is going to go down okay. If you are PB'ing a lot or can't seem to get any nutrition down, then call your doc on Monday and get in for a small unfill. Take care and don't mess around with this! Let me know how you make out! As far as starting a new thread. Go to the thread category you want, say Post-op, then click on post a new thread. Type a title for it in the top box, then your question or whatever in the main, larger box. Then when you're happy with it, click post/submit at the bottom. Once you've clicked on a particular thread, then all you can do is post to that thread. Have to start in a category to post a new thread. Hope that helps!
-
Congratulations!!!!!
-
Are ya preggers? It's a possibility, even if you're on BC. Hope you're feeling better whatever the reason for it! Take care of yourself!
-
Welcome! Sorry I didn't find this thread sooner. I don't always get to spend as much time on here as I want! I'm a slow looser too. Was doing okay, then got a serious stick at Easter and had to get unfilled. :smile2: Now we're slowly refilling me and I really need another fill! I have to wait til the end of July for it. In the meantime, I have to try not to eat the entire kitchen! Lana has some good points. Lamv, does too. Another thing I'd like to add, is right now, while you're struggling, track every bite of food going in your mouth. I have to track or I over eat. A lot. Now, I might still go over but it's not by much and it's not very often. Before tracking, I basically ate all day. Sad, I know. I use dailyplate and it seems to work well for me. There are other free tracking sites out there but I don't know anything about them. Take care. Keep posting and we can all support each other! Have a great weekend!

Friday Morning Weigh-In, July 3, 2009
heartfire replied to MistyD65's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Last week: 180.8 This week: 180.7 Total loss: -.1 Down 1/10th!!! WhooHoo! LOL! Well, considering I was up most of the week and I badly need a fill, I'll take it! I was thinking I was looking at a 1lb or more gain. Yikes! These next few weeks until my fill on the 24th are going to be tough. I'm hungry! Have a great week! -
July 4th Goal - 179 July 4th WI - 180.7 I didn't hit my goal but this is the closest I've ever gotten to a goal I've set so I'm pretty happy. Now if I can just keep from eating us outta house and home while I wait for my fill at the end of the month! YIKES!! Anniversary (8/25) Goal - 170. That's going to be a challenge for me! We'll see how close I get! :smile2:
-
Me too! Ditto! Holy moly! COOL!! <pouting> But I wanna meet you!!!! Guess I'll just have to take a trip to Australia someday! YIKES! Sounds rough! Glad it's going well! Now! PJTP: Nothing much going on. Hiding out at home for fear of the crazies out on the road heading to the lake and Yosemite. And it's hot. I hate hot. Nearly 100 here in the mtns. Yuck! Scanner was busy today with car fires involving grass, structure fires involving grass, grass fires involving grass. Y'all get the idea. We have a fireworks ban up here and yet people still do it. So a hot summer weekend, a fireworks laden holiday, alcohol and a bunch of idiots and we'll just pray that nothing horrific happens! :smile2: Woke up REALLY sore again today. It's been happening a lot lately. And tired too. Like can't-keep-my-eyes-open tired. I'm afraid it might be our mattress. I did this the last time we needed a new one. It's over 10yrs old at this point and with my weight, it's probably had it. I'll have DH help me flip it again and see if that helps at all. Speaking of tired. It's just after 10 here and I'm going to bed! Have a great night. Have a SAFE and FANTASTIC Independence Day! HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!!!!

Anyone ever heard of a band "exploding"
heartfire replied to cookiebaby's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
oh. good. Lord!
