*Thanks, Sick! And I agree, Tap needs help and he's the sleep guru! He's been on all week, where are his wonderful words of wisdom? Sheesh! Friends, HA! *Sorry about the step-daughter, Kristen! You know you'll find out eventually what she wants. You said, fiance. She probably wants daddy to pony up for the wedding! Oh, and not actually BE at the wedding! Congrats on the scale FINALLY moving in the right direction!!! *Tap, you have GOT to sleep!! I just feel so bad for you! I know what it's like to not be able to sleep (I have a young kid afterall!) and I know how horrible it is! SLEEP DAMMIT!!! *Okay, I'm tired and was going to bed but now I gotta go find some skanky bitch and read what she's been up too! Thanks a lot TPG!! You could've at least posted a link to make it easier for us to find! LOL! Whew my language today! Where's the soap! Oh and I don't know what boom boom pow is so it is NOT stuck in my head! Oh! Oh! Okay, geeky thing and will probably drop my coolness status with Fanny b/c I am a lover of AC/DC and Metallica BUT I was watching a Biography show on The Monkees. I'd forgotten how much I loved them when I was a kid. They were big the year before and year of my birth and my mom had their ALBUMS. I'd always watch the reruns of the shows and snag her albums to listen to. Anyway, found a 4 disc CD set on Amazon last night and BOUGHT IT! It'll be here in a couple of weeks! Took the slow train to get free shipping! Okay, watching the late night news and off to find the skanky bitch! Night all!

Pregnancy After Miscarraige
heartfire replied to rodriguezequal's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
So glad you got to see your bean! Yay!!!! Trust me, you'll get used to it, eventually. If you have some extra needles, try "popping" the needle into an orange. It's about what it will feel like to go thru your skin. I had to do my own shots for IVF and I'm a complete needle phobic! I did it and you can too! You want this baby and this is supposed to help your baby, so you WILL do what you need to in order to say later that you did all that was needed and be PROUD of yourself for it! The first time I had to stick the needle in my abdomen was horrible. DH was at work and I called him in tears. All I was doing was poking myself. It was AWFUL!!! He's a fireman and the station he was at, at the time had medics on duty so he asked me if he could put the medic on to help me. Then asked the medic if he would help me! Anyway, the orange thing is what the medic had me doing. Kind of "throwing" or "popping" the needle into the orange. He said that's how fast you want to do it and that's what it feels like when you do it on yourself. It helped me sooooo much! I practiced a couple of times and I was able to finally get the needle in me and got the meds in. I continued to practice on the poor orange til I had it right. My poor abdomen looked horrid the next morning! I hope this helps! I don't know anything about Lovenox or where it's supposed to go so can't help you there. Sorry! Take care! -
WHOOHOO!!! So glad it went better today!

I have a colorful butterfly on the outside of my left ankle and it still looks really good. I was blessed tho and didn't have overly fat ankles. Still had a little definition in them. Not much, mind you, but a little! LOL! Anyway, I would think the foot would be fine at your 100lbs lost goal. Only you can really decide tho. And what someone said about asking the artist is a good idea. Take a good, hard, unbiased look at your foot. Is is fat or not? Ankles might help you in that decision too. I've noticed fat ankles tend to lead to fat feet so that might help. What do your ankles look like? And be honest with yourself. Maybe take a picture of your ankle and foot. I always see things in pictures I don't see in the mirror. Have fun with it! I want more but need to not be spending money on that right now. :cool2: I also can't decide on what I want. Actually, I want several but need to make some solid decisions before I even look at what it might cost! AND I have to find another artist!

camping food ideas????
heartfire replied to emtsusieq's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So. Why is it so different this time from any other time you've gone? Serious question. What are you worried about? Just b/c you're banded now, doesn't change anything unless there are certain foods you have problems with. We cook anything and everything when we're camping. Plan a menu and bring the stuff for it. We make Hobo stew in foil on the fire. Kabobs that we prep at home. We cook eggs and bacon and even make toast! pineapple upside down cake with a "solar oven" and so on and so on. We eat really well when camping! LOL! Been a long time since we've gone camping. I'm itching to go again soon! Have a blast and don't stress on the food. Take what you like and can eat. ENJOY!!!! -
Does anyone eat fruit in this forum???
heartfire replied to soocalchic's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I like fruit and try to eat it daily as it does help keep things "moving." I just don't always "think" about it and will end up grabbing something else instead. Trying to change that. I'm on a white nectarine kick right now and that's helping me get more fruit in. At the Farmer's Market the other day they had "Nectaplums" and those are SOOOOO good! Love them! Pluots are another one that I'm liking a lot right now. Tahan, I'm hoping you don't mean you're only a month out from surgery and you're trying to eat fruit? Double-check your food guidelines from your surgeon on that one. I couldn't eat fruit for the first 8-9 months according to my surgeon and a month out, I was still on soft foods. Be careful!!! -
CONGRATULATIONS!!! I think it's wonderful that you've found/formed your own support group! Kudos to all of you! Continue to be the best support you can for each other. I have found a few bandsters in my general area but I'm an hour out from them. I get most of my support from here (other than my family). There is a woman in my Bunco group that will be using my surgeon for her bypass surgery, so there is that! But banding is different and sometimes we just can't equate our experiences with others. Take good care of yourself and your new support group! Best wishes!

Georgia Girl, I do remember you and am so glad you're back. I'm so sorry that you are in so much pain and having such a hard time! What I have are standard migraines but I "cluster" for a few days each month with them so I don't actually have cluster headaches like what you have. I'm on Maxalt. Prayers that the doctors can get you on a regime of meds that can help relieve things for you. Keep posting, you've been missed!

tutornmom, WTG!! Irish, hang in there! Kristen, I'm so sorry you're still stuck! I finally got a fill yesterday afternoon! Had some Soup last night and could only eat about 1/2 a cup and it took a long time. I saved the rest for lunch today. We'll see what happens! I lost 1.3 this week. VERY happy! And hoping and praying it STICKS!! Like Kristen, I'm so tired of the up and down. Doc gave me .5cc +. Not sure exactly but doesn't matter. I don't get wrapped up in the numbers. Still shooting for 170 by the 25th. I keep wanting to change my goal so it's not so big but I'm not going to. :cool2: A little more than 8lbs in 4 1/2 weeks is scary to me! Have a great week everyone! TTFN!
-
Great job, you two! I can't believe we're coming up on our 1yr bandiversaries! Just seems SO amazing to me! Okay - Last week: 179.5 This week: 178.2 Total loss: - 1.3lbs Yea me! This is also with needing a fill. Got that yesterday, late afternoon. Shooting for 170 by my bandiversary date of 08/25. Here's hoping for great restriction this month! LOL! Have a great week everyone!

Oh I'm so sorry! Prayers that it goes much better today! I've never had him not get it but there have been a couple of painful ones. And I always bruise and am sore for a couple of days after. AND mine MOVES so he always has to find it first. My fear is one day he won't be able to and we'll find it's flipped or something. So far, so good tho and I'm hoping it stays that way. I HATE needles so I never look when he's got the needle and ready to fill me. Maybe try that. Let us know how it goes! Take care!

Pregnancy After Miscarraige
heartfire replied to rodriguezequal's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Prayers, Hun! I'm excited AND scared for you! LOL! I look forward to your post later tonight to see how everything went. Take care, get as much rest as you can (yea, I know!) and try not to stress so much. You must put this in to some perspective for yourself. I know you're still grieving over your lost little one. It's so hard but now you have something else to look forward to and focus on. This is NOT to say you forget about your baby, you can't and I would NEVER ask that of anyone. Just not right. But your focus can and should change some at this point. Take good care of yourself. I'm pulling for you and your little peanut! (((HUGS))) -
WARNING! This is going to be a loooonnnnnggggg post!! Lots to catch up on! Hope you can get back to your lab soon! Don't blame you a bit! I'm so sorry! Was hoping you'd post this AM saying you'd had a great night of sleep! FB - me neither! Hi BBK!! WhooHoo!! Yes it is! PITA re what the rep said but she's right! Get it in writing and they can hang themselves with their own words! CONGRATULATIONS!!! I'm SO sorry you're having problems! Hope you feel better soon! Go get some of that Ambisol stuff! Oh NO! I was so hoping this would help! Hopefully you have some relief after another unfill. Hi Susan! Fat brain won't go away, that's why we need TOOLS!! Don't beat yourself up! Sounds like fun! Enjoy! Hi Kristen! YUMMMMM! Does anyone else notice that Glouc seems a little TOO excited about this?! LOL! You're funny! PJTP: Had a fill this afternoon. Love the doc's scale. Showed me at 180! Lost 6lbs since I was last there. 'Course that was 2 months ago! He gave me over .5ccs. I forgot to ask him what he decided to do. Tonight it seems to be working. I always take it easy for a couple of days. Had soup tonight and could only eat about 1/2 a cup. Lets hope it holds. I'd like to have a good loss this next month. My 1yr is the end of August. Need to get my eyes checked again! I think that's why I'm getting so many migraines lately. Everything is fuzzy. When I went to get my license renewed, I could read the letters w/out squinting but they were VERY fuzzy! UGH! I guess it's a bitch getting old! LOL! I'll be hitting 41 on Sunday. Don't generally FEEL old but am noticing a lot of changes! YIKES!! Hope y'all have a great night! TTFN!

And Imart, I have NO idea what you're talking about unless all you did was read the initial post. Go back and read the entire thing before posting. Thanks!

*HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BETH!!!! Mine is Sunday! *Ebony, you look AMAZING!!!!! *Glouc, you did what you had to do. SHE messed up! NOT you!! It's all on her now. Oh. My. Goodness! *Tap, I'm so sorry you're still not sleeping. I would recommend you go and buy some Melatonin (sp?). You can find it at any drug store. Heck I used to buy it at Wal Mart. It's what we produce when it's time for sleep. You're body clock is all messed up and you need to get it back on track ASAP. Taking Melatonin is a natural way of doing that. Take it by directions. Usually up to an hour or so before bed, it'll make you sleepy but you shouldn't wake up fuzzy or "hung over." I think the bottle I had said 1-2. I always start with 1 and it worked great! Take care of yourself! I agree! I'll second that! WhooHoo!!!! Great news! PJTP: I should be working too but I'm posting here instead! Got rid of 4 bags of books to the library. Sent off 2 boxes of DD's clothes to a friend. Her daughter is a year younger than mine and her DH is out of work and she's a SAHM. I've been sending her all of DD's clothes. I know I'd appreciate it and she's always so thankful. I know I could sell them but... Also dropped of some veggies boxes to the farm drop-off and picked up supplements at the natural foods store and got some stuff in the mail. Then we went to the lake for lunch. Now we're doing laundry and I'm supposed to be working so I can get this stuff back to the office in a couple of hours. After that we'll head to the Farmer's Market and then come home so I can fix dinner. Whew! Day's just about over already! What happened?! Have a great afternoon/evening. I'll check back later!

Oh. My. Goodness! (DD's new favorite phrase! LOL!!) Like Mac, I have no hope of catching up. I've read but now can't remember everything and to quote would send this thing into lockdown! LOL! I do remember KC talking about an interesting night at work, please share! I was gonna be a cop, married to a fireman, watch discovery/health and tlc all the time. Well, not while DD is awake. She is only 3 afterall. I'd like to keep her somewhat innocent as long as possible! So, yep, don't mind the gruesome at all. And I will have to go back and find the link to the thread y'all are talking about. It's amazing what people will post! G4e, please listen to your chiro! So glad you're feeling better. Hello and hugs to all! PJTP: We are officially in a heat wave. A full week now of 100+ temps and no end in site for at least another week and a half! Sunday afternoon, on my SHADED front porch, we hit a high of 107.6. I'm in the mtns, about 3000ft elevation level. That's unheard of for here! YUCK!!! It was 112 in the city that day. Shoot and here I was thinking Lu had it bad. At least she has a pool she can soak in all day! LOL! Thank GOD for AC!!!! Hosted Bunco at my house tonight! We had a last minute cancellation and played with a "ghost." DD got to play the "ghost" once in awhile and had a blast! Three years old and I'm teaching her how to roll dice! LOL!! Kid's gotta have a skill of some sort! Going for a fill on Thursday, can't WAIT!!!!!! So badly needed! Well, I think that's it for now. Have a great night y'all! I'm off to find the weird/ kinky post! LOL!

NICE!!! I'm so glad you updated us. I was just thinking about you the other day and wondering how things were going. Take care and ENJOY!!!!!

*Ebony, I am absolutely speechless as to what has transpired today. Everyone gave you some wonderful advice. I have none. I have no experience with upper-level jobs and management. Just know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. Wish I could give you a real hug but we'll have to settle for a cyber one. (((HUGS))) PJTP: DD is such a JOY today!! :cursing: Well, NOW she's being a joy but that's after several time-outs, a spanking, and the loss of one of her stuffed puppies. I told her that she could have the puppy back ONLY after she behaved herself for a couple of hours. And if she refused to change her attitude and the way she was acting then we would NOT go see her papa at the station tonight. Now she's "cooking" for me. chocolate cake for Breakfast and lemon cake for lunch. Gotta love a kid who likes chocolate cake for breakfast! LOL! I really HATE days like this. Oh and of course, my mom calls right in the middle of some of this! Then she feels bad for not being here to give me a break! UGH! Don't TELL me you will take her when you can't drive your butt down here THIS INSTANT to actually TAKE HER!!!!!!! AND it's too flippin' hot to go DO anything outside! So no relief there! Anyway, DD only has to wail until after dinner for the puppy. And at this rate, if he's not on a call, we'll go see papa tonight. My right jaw hinge is sore and I'm getting a migraine! LOL! And it dawned on me later that DH is working OT on Sunday and won't be home til Monday instead! YIKES!!! <I will get thru this weekend. I will get thru this weekend. I will get thru this weekend.> Okay. Done now! Thanks!! Off to fix dinner. BBL!

Hi! I'm figuring you were talking to me. If you'll re-read my post you'll see that I am fine with this very slight gain. It's only .2. Nothing to have a fit over certainly! I'm pretty wide open right now b/c I do need a fill and I feel I'm doing great in spite of it. Thanks for the encouragement. Congratulations on your loss! Best wishes to you in your journey!
-
Hey y'all! Gained .2 this week. I ate trail mix right before bed last night, so except for that, probably would've stayed the same or down the .1 I was yesterday. I'm really okay with this. I have a fill appt next Thursday for a fill I really needed last month and had to cancel so the fact that I've lost a little and am now staying pretty much the same, I'm happy with. Before surgery? Would never have happened like this! Have a great week everyone!!
-
Gained .2 this week. I was down .1 yesterday. Then last night I got hungry and ate some trail mix right before bed. Darn it! Oh well. Moving on. It's only .2 Have a great week!
-
I agree, you'll do great! Now, go get some sleep!!!
-
*Lu, 105 on my front porch right now. It's nearly 3:30PM here. We'll see what it gets too. Not happy! And yeah, on the 17 year old. Apparently he had history. He had an open heart surgery scar the length of his chest. *Slim, I'm ready for Fall. *KC, I agree with Beth and Slim, you fit in VERY well here! And Plain has a new friend to play with! LOL! *Ebony, I love your attitude! You are such a strong person. I truly admire you! *G4e, I agree with Glouc about wanting to do stuff as soon as I'm told I can't! SOOOOOO bad! I hope your tire is fixed soon! How are you feeling today? Were you able to ice up well yesterday and get in a better place? BBL!
-
*KC and Plain, y'all are too funny! KC, sounds like a rough night! I worry when DH is working an accident. Too many emergency personnel are hit by errant drivers. DH had a rough last day of his shift last weekend (Saturday). Had a double-drowning at the lake, they got the adult back but not the 13 yr old. THEN that night had a 17 yr old boy heart attack and code at a local camp. They got him back and on the helicopter but don't know if he made it or not. A few weeks ago the other shift had a drowning/recovery at the falls above the lake, 14 yr old boy. Watching the 11 o'clock news tonight to find his station is at a structure fire right now. Total loss. He's home tonight tho but we were wondering why we smelled smoke. DH knew it was a structure and was outside looking for any evidence of something in our neighborhood. Nothing, then the "Breaking News" alert on TV. I'm starting to get nervous now when he goes to work! YIKES! Anyway, it's been a crazy few weeks here! *Sick, it's good to "see" you!! Glad you're back on track again! Good for you!!! Don't be such a stranger! You're missed! *Oh man! Must be a slight breeze 'cause we're getting more of the smoke and it's making me sneeze!! Dammit! Okay it's REALLY late and I need to get to bed! See y'all tomorrow! Later today. Whatever! 'Night!!!!
