Fanny, if you're that hungry, .5 might be okay. Talk to you doc. I think it really depends on HOW hungry you are. I totally have first bite syndrome. All of a sudden I'm stuck and I literally don't remember the first bite I took. I think, for me, I get stuck more often when I NEED a fill than I do when I'm at a good place. It's that first bite. Being to hungry and not paying attention. As far as to what to call Chris (and I lol'd at your own suggestions) there is always DSO (dear sig. other). I've seen DBF a lot. Oh another would be DC (dear Chris). I have no idea what would work well. The other problem is then you've got to continually explain what the abbreviation means! Depends on what you're most comfortable with. ~Plain, figured you wouldn't be able to leave that one alone but you sorta did! Not sure how I feel about that! LOL! Kat, is Rick feeling ANY better yet? That is an awful bug! Has he been seen at all or tested or anything? Probably just too sick to get there, huh? Still amazes me that the chopper was outside for so long! Actually would still be there if DS hadn't taken care of it. Yea, when you figure out the DW/laundry thing, let me know! 'Night!

Just a thought but have your paid attention to how FAST you're eating? If I'm eating a lot but seem to be getting stuck more often than I should, I'm usually eating too fast! For some reason I revert to the "inhaling" of my food. Just a thought. Take it easy! You don't want to backslide with the illness again! Glou, I am so glad you're back! Hi BBK!! We changed drastically overnight here. We were in the low 90s yesterday and today it barely got in to the 70s! It's cloudy and trying to rain! I love this weather!! Oh CC! Not you too!!! I sure hope you can still make your trip tomorrow! Take care and get some rest! We love pumpkins too! DH has bought these extreme halloween pumpkin books the last couple of years. Actually I think Halloween might just be his favorite holiday. Tight race w/Christmas! LOL! No apologies. I just wish you were better already! I feel bad that you're still sick! Finals already? I thought you just started classes!!! Sheesh! Time is moving WAY too fast! Sure as hell felt like it! Thanks! I'm glad to be back! LOL! PJTP: Okay, gotta go start dinner. Eggplant Ragu, pasta, salad, and french bread. BBL!

GLOU!!!!!!!! YOU'RE BACK!!!! I'm so excited!!! Sorry for the confusion. I had started this new thread when I didn't see another one started only to find that Ebony HAD started one in the Lounge. It hadn't come up on "new posts" when I'd checked before starting this one. When we talked via PM she told me about the new thread so I came back and deleted my post and proceeded to confuse EVERYONE else but ME! LOL! Are you still confused? LOL! And HI BBK!!!! Haw ya doing? How's Faith after her surgery? I forgot what it was for. I remember her being sick right before it tho. I sure hope she's doing well now. Whoo Hoo! Happy Bandiversary!! I'm so jealous!! Hope y'all have a blast!! Don't forget the bail money! LOL!! Tell 'em hi for me! Oh my! :scared2: I'm in SO MUCH TROUBLE!! My 3 yr old is already starting some of that attitude crap! I can't imagine what we're going to be like in 7-10 yrs!!! UGH! My MIL has always told DH that but the problem is that w/his work schedule, I'M the one who always gets to deal with it!!!! THAT IS SO FREAKING WONDERFUL!!!!!!!! Glad you seem to be feeling better! PJTP: Mom headed home a couple of hours ago. It was a nice visit but short. Always too short. DD decided she was going home with grandma. Hard to get her to understand why that wouldn't work out this time. She was disappointed! Wonderful weather today! In the 90's yesterday and barely hit the 70's today and it's cloudy and wants to rain some!! I love this weather!!! I am so ready for Fall! Summer is my least favorite season. I hate the heat! Gotta go! TTYL!!

Glad you're feeling better. Having just come off of this, I was worried for you. Sounds like a great class! Good job! So glad she's on your side and that you reported it! Hopefully something gets done about it now! Best wishes with school. What are you taking? Sounds like fun! Enjoy!!! Oh Kat! I'm so sorry about Rick! That is so scary!! And WHY does that kind of stuff happen in the middle of the night/weekend instead of during the day when everyone (meaning medical professionals) is up and able to help?! Glad Macy is feeling better. Stay on top of that ear! Mom lives 3 1/2 hrs away. Next door would be too close but in the same area would be GREAT! Glad you're back! You're a better person than I am. If I'm cookin', I'm eatin'!!!! LOL! Glad you got the afghan done! I only know one crochet stitch. I want to learn more and learn how to knit too but classes are prohibitive right now. Are you okay? I'm sorry you're having a rough time. I should just buy some yarn and sit down and start making lap robes or something. Even with just one stitch, it would be good for me. And I can donate the lap robes to vets and that would be good too. I've done the real age test too. I need to update it. I can't remember where I was at. I know I was younger tho! Ummm, am I missing something? I know I'm new but you're 38 and your mom took you car keys? I'm so confused!! No apologies!! What a mess tho! You have been SICK!!!! Sorry you're not ALL better. I understand about wanting to get back to your kids tho. Prednisone sucks! That's so sad! The poor family!! ~~~~~ Mom headed home a couple of hours ago. I always miss her and DD misses her too. Today she had decided she was going home with grandma. Didn't understand why that wasn't going to work. SHE thought it was a good idea! LOL! Have a great evening/night everyone!

Tina, it sounds like you two will be fine as long as you keep the lines of communication open! If it's bugging you, say something. If it's great, say something. It all boils down to communication. I agree with everything Ebony said. (I usually do!) Might be a good idea to just call the office number for the local cops and ASK them what you should do, can you document it, etc. They'll give you the best way to proceed and who knows, they may be very interested in what she said. Take GOOD care and keep us updated. Hugs!

Hey y'all! Nothing much going on. Mom is here for a short visit. She'll head home tomorrow. Now that I'm all better I want my 1cc unfill BACK!! I'm eating like I've been starving! Oh wait! I was! LOL! I have GOT to reign it in before I see 180s again! I was doing so well too! CC, I agree with what Diva said. Have a grand time and tell us all about it when you get back! Hi to everyone! Off to check more boards then head to bed. More migraine meds are in my very near future! :tongue2: 'Night!
-
Thanks, y'all for the welcome! Kat, you're so sweet. Thank you! Sorry for all the sick kiddos. We've just gotten over some stuff. Jennifur, don't mess around, get in for a slight unfill. I ended up with the flu a couple of weeks ago and got so swollen and closed off that by the time I got back in State and was able to get in to the covering surgeon for an unfill, I hadn't had anything to eat in a week and barely anything to drink in that time. Lost about 7lbs and have since gained it all back again! UGH! Cari, your job sucks! CAN you look for something else? Mom is here for a visit. She's headed home sometime tomorrow. I don't know about joining the challenge. I'm a very slow loser. I am trying to get to 170 by Halloween tho. And the way I've been eating this week, it's probably close to 10lbs that I have to lose now! Sometimes I hate food. :tongue2: Have a great night everyone!
-
Glad to hear it was wonderful! Sorry you didn't get a chance at your hair. Rest, you deserve it! What she said! PJTP: Another low key day. I have a load of laundry in the wash and that's all I've gotten done today! We didn't even get to the Alpaca Farm. We'll try again next year. My mom is coming to visit tomorrow. She'll leave on Tuesday afternoon. Have a good night!
-
Thank you! I know Kat from PJTP and she's become a friend. I was banded a little more than a year ago. I'm a slow loser but at least I'm a loser! LOL! Married to my firefighting DH for nearly 22 yrs and we have a 3 yr old daughter, 1 DDog and live in the mountains. I'm mostly a SAHM but do the books for our church from home. Have a great night.
-
Umm, hi! Kat sent me over. Said I 'might like to join y'all! Hope you all are having a great Saturday!

Here's the link for the one I started. Just in case we want to move on. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f80/pjtp-again-102899/
-
Not yet. We're trying to decide what we want to do. Thanks tho.
-
Suzy, you might have a good point. It just doesn't seem the same anymore. Maybe we just need to move on from THIS thread. I've left the one open that I started in R&R in case we want to move over there. I've had the offer of closing it but am holding off til we ALL decide what we want to do. Ebony? Others? What do you all think? PJTP: Looking like another lazy day!
-
Kat, sent you a PM. Hope this trip is uneventful but productive! Kristen, LOVE the low-key days! Hopefully the wind changes direction and you can get out for your run. PJTP: Woke up with itchy eyes this AM. I think it's the weather. BBL

Yep, gotta be careful with the raccoons. They use dog and cat doors to get in the house! Hasn't happened to us but grandpa used to have frequent visitors. At our old house I had the entire deck covered with flower pots and I had a 3 tiered fountain amongst some of the plants. Came out one AM to find the damn 'coons had up-rooted just about every pot I had and "washed" them off in the fountain! Good thing the fountain wasn't running or it would've mucked up the system. Most of the plants survived b/c they were sitting in water! But damn what a mess! This one last night was a good 20-25 lbs! HUGE. They usually run about 10-15 or so on average. DD is 3 and in our room b/c her's is downstairs and it's all torn up in a very long remodel process. It amazes me what she WILL sleep thru. The dog had been going at it off and on for awhile so I knew it was just a matter of time before she woke up. Well he doesn't want everyone to read ALL of it b/c a couple of my more brash posts from the other night are missing. Go figure! I'm so glad you're back, Fanny. And your b-day celebration sounds absolutely wonderful! Yep, gotta watch 'em. Especially in camping areas and/or National Parks. They are REALLY used to people and the food and have no fear. Very dangerous when that happens. Kinda like our bears here in the Park. Hope you have a good run. Be careful with the smoke tho! Hadn't heard about any fires near you. Where abouts? I get it Sick. I really do. And actually the whole site doesn't seem to be the same. I'm struggling right now. What she said. We'll have to see tho. PJTP: Starting to develop some cold sores on my lower lip. Very painful! Stress on the ol' body/mind will do that to me every time. Between the trip and getting the flu, band area getting too swollen, not eating or really even drinking for a whole week, then the drama on here, the drama at work when I got back (btw, the safe is open now!), etc., it's no wonder I'm starting these things. Actually haven't had any for awhile but darn if they aren't trying now! Too much in too little time! Seems like I've been home a lot longer than just a week! DD and I had a quiet day today. I actually let her watch cartoons ALL day/evening! Except for 1/2 an hour at 5 so I could catch the news. I don't let her do that too often but we've been going so much lately and there's been so much going on, I figure it wouldn't hurt. We didn't go anywhere or do anything! Very nice! Tomorrow a local Alpaca Farm is having it's annual open house and I've not been able to go as of yet, so I think we're going to go over to that. There's also a craft's fair at the lake that we might wander thru. Low key day none the less. Tho I do need to throw a load of laundry in at some point. Have a good night everyone!

Hello from central California
heartfire replied to amandastephens's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Jennifer! That is SO exciting!!! Fantastic news! The time is going to both drag AND fly by for you! Keep us up to date! Take care! -
Never, I was going to restart the PJTP thread and didn't see that Ebony had already done it. Then this afternoon Alex re-opened the old thread and merged the 2 so no need for this one. Sorry for the confusion!

~Wow! A couple of my posts from the 23rd are missing! Wonder how that happened?! And WHY???? ~Slim, you have every right to be proud of yourself! You are NOT a failure! You've lost 76lbs this last year! I am so proud of you!!!! HAPPY BANDIVERSARY!!!! ~Crzy, I am SO sorry that you've caught the H1N1! I sure hope you get to feeling better soon. Sorry about you having to miss the training session too. That sucks! ~Oh Kristen! I feel horrible for you! I'm so sorry! ~Fab, best wishes with dinner AND your hair!! :scared2: One reason why I don't color my hair anymore. Too scary and too damaging! ~Suzy, have fun tonight! PJTP: Completely forgot an NSV from the dr appt the other day. Haven't been able to take my BP med all week so figured it'd be a little high when they took it on Wed. Well, it was 101/72!!!!! WhooHoo! I'll keep monitoring it but I'm going to e-mail my PCP and let him know I'm off of it and don't plan to restart it any time soon! Eventually I'll probably have to go back on it b/c of BOTH sides of my family history but hopefully not for a good long time! WI this AM and am down from what I weighed a few weeks ago. Didn't gain it ALL back from being sick but a good portion of it. I'm okay with that. I'm just happy to be able to eat and drink again!! Have a great afternoon/evening! BBL!

Oops! I'd started another thread in R&R when I couldn't find a new thread. Never thought to check the Lounge and it didn't pop up on New Posts! WTH! Anyway, deleted my post from there and am posting my latest story here. Plain, maybe you can delete my other thread? I'll go back and read later. DD is hungry and I've been putting her off for too long! BBL!!! ~~~~~ So, the middle of the night visitor story: Off of our living room and bedroom side of the house, we have a 2nd story deck. DDog has full access via the doggie door in the LR slider. She doesn't have access to the yard from that deck tho. It's gated off. Anyway, periodically in the middle of the night she'll hear something and as we live in the mountains, that can mean ANYTHING! So last night she started up about 3 or so. She'd then calm down and come back in to go to sleep only to get up again and go nuts. Finally about 3:30 she just wouldn't STOP and I was mad. She also had awakened the kiddo by this time and I was tired and not happy. Turn on the light and she's at one of the corners, looking up and throwing a bloody FIT. I look and it's a HUGE raccoon! Damn thing is just sitting there! So I head out there to chase it off. When it heard the screen on the BR door it dropped down to the outside corner of the deck/railing. I chase it off and it heads up a tree not 3ft from the deck! Dumb thing! I went and got the flashlight and DD wanted to see so got her too and shined the light on it. They don't like that so it shimmied back down the tree and took off, away from the house. Well, then of course DD is wide awake and needs water and needs a kleenex and this, that and the other til she finally falls back to sleep about an HOUR later! UGH!!! We slept in a little but I'm still tired! Dog is dragging her feet today too. She's too old to be up half the night anymore either! LOL! Have a beautiful day! Off to make DD some lunch. BBL!!!

Good Friday Morning everyone! Okay, here are my stats over the last couple of weeks. Being out of town and getting sick messed me up! 9/4 - 175.2 9/11 - 176.7 9/18 - no WI, out of town and sick w/flu but probably would've been up since I ATE really well and loved every minute of it til I got sick! LOL! 9/25 - 174.9 Goal is 170lbs. Have a great weekend everyone!
-
Tina! I love the pics!! What a great looking couple! I am so happy for you!! Take care and post when you can! LOL! Hugs!!

Oh and for those few of us left and those who give a rat's ass - I went down the hill today for an unfill expecting it to be a total one. He only took out 1cc, leaves me with 5.5 and I'm able to drink and eat. Feeling MUCH better, physically, now. Thanks to all of my FRIENDS for the well wishes and advice. I truly appreciate it.
-
Yea, me too. Since it's kind of an emergency and I've gone so long, he already said yesterday that it would be a complete unfill. I tried, it's not working. I just PB'd ice cream. A major slider for me. :tongue2: Damn and double-damn! I was really praying it wouldn't be cancer again. And to think that the ER found this thing years ago and never told her about it! Thanks for keeping in touch with her and letting us know what is happening. I'd love to have an addy to send a card if that's possible. Thank you, Kat. I'm sad today. Too much... stuff. 'Night all.
-
~Drive by post - hardly getting anything down again today. Had high hopes after yesterday. I'll be going in for a complete unfill tomorrow afternoon. :bored: ~Ebony, the church doesn't have any cc's other than one for the office supply store! They don't want electronic transfers done for the bills. I do do transfers between accounts but w/a lot of documentation. This fiasco may change their minds some tho. May bring it up at the next council meeting. Heck, they still require 2 signatures for the checks even tho the bank doesn't. All checks and balances and it keeps me safe from accusations too but a PITA when something goes wrong like this!
-
~Ebony, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!! And I love what you said about the board. I agree with you. ~Slim, are you okay with all this flooding stuff? Watching the news last night was scary!! ~G4E, so glad you checked in. Lots of prayers for you today! ~Brandy, I have no answer for you but I'd hate to see you leave too. ~PJTP: Took DD to preschool this AM, then went upstairs to get my work file to catch up since being gone all last week. Well, I can't get the checks out of the safe that I need in order to do payroll and bills b/c the damn safe BROKE!!!!!!! WTH!!! So my putting them in there to keep them safe instead of my own safe here at home, turns out to be a HUGE mistake! I called the pastor at home and asked why the sign on the safe, no one was in the office yet when I got there. He said, "well, it's broken." I told him that the checks, ALL of the checks, for ALL of the accounts, were in there. He did say they were working on it. I told him this is bad, very bad. No payroll. No bills paid. No NOTHING! He said he'd call me later. Yeah, whatever. Can't do my job without the checks! Businesses are not going to let me call them and say, "gee, can't pay the mortgage on the first b/c the safe broke and I can't get the checks out of it right now. Think you could wait a few weeks?" HA!!! UGH!!!!!!!!! This is so NOT my problem but I'm going to be the one to have to find a solution to this. Dammit! I wonder if I can get a temporary book of checks from the bank in town to use in the meantime... See? I'm already trying to fix what isn't my problem. Okay. Leaving the LBT drama for my own at home. Later y'all.
