I have qualcare and the waiting is driving me crazy! I was hoping to find someone with qualcare to give me some insurance insight. I never heard of an advocate. Hopefully you'll get your answer soon Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

I am a newbie here myself. My surgery is scheduled for December 30 and I have to agree with composed. Lately there have been many rants about bad choices others are making. I too can understand why many may get upset but all newbies shouldn't be judged by the poor choices of others. Personally, I'm at point where I am afraid to ask questions and I have a lot. So those of you that choose to stay and give good advice, Thank you. It is appreciated. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Hi, I'm dawn, single and 47 years old. I am a nurse manager working for a derm surgery practice for 17 years. I have 2 brothers, wonderful sisters in laws, and a beautiful/handsome niece and nephew. I have struggled with my weight for years, yo yo dieting and gaining back more than I have ever lost. Started gaining when I was diagnosed with severe PCOS in my teens. My dad died of cancer after a 8 year battle in 2014. 2 months later my mom was in the hospital, 6 months after that my grandmother died, 6 months after that my mom had a stroke and 6 months after that I ended up in the hospital. During that time I focused on everyone but me and my weight ballooned to 297. Being in the hospital scared me and I started on this journey. Surgery date December 30th as long as I get insurance approval. Very scared, but my family is supportive. I love to read, craft, swim, hike and kayak- though haven't been able to do the last 2 because of my weight. Really looking forward to getting healthy and having some energy again. Thank you all for your inspiring stories and help on this journey. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

I told my mom and a few close family friends. They are supportive. However, when I told my boss she was 100% against it. This is making it a little more difficult to get the time off I need. My date is December 30 th 2016. I don't care that she is against it. This is something I need to do to get healthy. Think about what you need to get healthy and if this is it go for it Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Did you ever have second thoughts?
Daja replied to ALittleMe0914's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm glad I'm not the only one. Made the decision to have the sleeve and as it gets closer I am getting scared and worried. Scared about possible complications and worried more about family dinners ( though my family is supportive) and eating with people around. I have one " friend" who is very unsupportive and against the surgery and I think that's what's starting all this doubting. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
