Weight Gain At 25 Weeks Pg
ErinMarie replied to Suzyfit's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
I think that feeling (going from feeling restriction to not feeling it) is pretty normal just about all the time! Just keep an eye that it doesn't get too tight as you get more swollen! -
You can't set up a payment plan with them or something? Don't give up!

Still Lots Of Questions Before Surgery?! Can Anyone Help?

Green = where your band is at maximum effectiveness and you don't need more fills/un-fills. A great article about the Green Zone! http://www.bandedliving.com/public/Lap_Band_Fills__The_Green_Zone.cfm -
This was my t-day meal 2 years ago when I was at my sweet spot. I was focused and didn't feel like I missed out at all! I wasn't stuffed like everyone else either AND I actually lost weight over the holiday! (Even with some crackers and cheese dip and pumpkin cake that day). It can be done!!!

Im so sorry about this!!! Sadly some people's bodies don't take well to foreign objects in their body. Focus on healing and do as much research as you can in the meantime in which revision might be the best for you! Do you think you could find a stipulation in your tri-care to get the sleeve instead of rny?

Gross Question So Sorry

Better out than in -
I got 1 cc at a time but if you can handle it they could put up to 3-4 for your first fill if your band is empty. Depends on your doc really! Let me know how it goes!

Weight Gain At 25 Weeks Pg
ErinMarie replied to Suzyfit's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Normal weight gain for a bandster would be what any other normal person's weight gain would be. I gained about 50 lbs but I had half my fluid removed at 10 weeks and had no restriction. I think you are doing just fine! -
That's exciting! Who's your doc? Don't be freaked out when they do it! Lol it looks pretty crazy. They don't always let someone go back with you either just fyi
-
They are crazy! My band had no effect whatsoever on my pregnancy

Juju, People that get banded in Mexico usually go because their insurance does not cover it and it's a cheaper procedure there. (Probably cheaper ANYWHERE but here.) And I second what everyone else said. Some people just don't get it when it comes to food addiction and being tired of yo-yo diets. If they don't get it and give you shit? Screw them! They don't need to be informed of your life decisions anyway
-
Girl you are just starting! Don't get discouraged yet! Remember, losing with the lap band is a PROCESS. It does not just happen super fast like RNY! Pace yourself, make good decisions, and practice eating small bites and portions for when you are in your green zone! Good luck!

Hey Indiana people! I was banded May 2011 at St. Vincent's Carmel by Dr. Diaz! I agree that everyone there is pretty awesome. Kami, the NP, is equally awesome as well! (Although the first time I met her, I thougth she was 12.) I'm getting a fill in 2 weeks after having been unfilled for about a year due to pregnancy! FINALLY. I have 55 lbs to get back to pre-baby weight and then another 37 after that to get to my goal! Yikes! lol
-
Yes! I would find a new doctor if he doesn't listen to your past history! I'm so sorry for your loss I agree with hazel that I don't think your band would matter in terms of affecting a pregnancy or changing how soon you want to start trying. I always read trying as soon as possible was better in terms of fertility but you really need to do what is best for you mentally! Good luck <3

I guess that depends on what you mean by natrual! I labored for 37 hours with back labor until I finally had to get an epidural because I wasn't progressing (too tense, baby facing the wrong way!) About 3-4 hours after the epi also had the smallest amount of pitocin and that pushed him right down in a matter of 1-2 hours! I pushed for 20 minutes (unable to feel anything sadly...I really wanted to go completely natural) and he was out! Xander swallowed some meconium on his way out so after his first night with us, he had to go to the NICU for about 4 days to work the junk out of his lungs and get some antibiotics. Nothing serious thankfully, but just as stressful and devistating! He's a healthy, happy 6 month old now

Finally getting a fill on Dec 4! My first one since my pregnancy unfill on Oct 2012! Excited but nervous!

Getting a fill while BFing? (X-posted in Fill Group)
ErinMarie replied to ErinMarie's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Also keep I'm mind, depending on how much fluid you need in your band and how fills affect you, one fill may not effect you at all! I have to get 4 cc to get back to where I was so I don't think my first fill will have much effect on my breastfeeding -
Getting a fill while BFing? (X-posted in Fill Group)
ErinMarie replied to ErinMarie's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Hello! Sadly my baby is 5.5 months and I only BF once in the early morning now. Baby boy won't take the boob bc he got so used to the bottle. I don't make enough to save but I'm thinking about taking supplements again to get my supply back up. I would just have to really commit to pumping at work which is really hard for me (and my pump is manual and it sucks!) I would say just try your best to eat healthy in terms of hating the weight gain. Hopefully your breastfeeding will help you shed the pounds. It didn't for me but that's bc I never made enough to start with If I can get my supply back up I may wait to get a fill ... My doctor said I could come in whenever I wanted though. We'll see! Good luck! And congrats to you too! -

Heather, I had a lazy eater in the beginning and my baby was losing weight bc he wasn't getting enough milk. (Falling asleep at the boob) Ever since he was about a month old I've been having to supplement with formula... He gets breast and bottle every time. (Although just recently, overnight he will take only breast and be find until morning!) I pump at work at get about 2 oz total every 4 hrs. I have tried fenugreek, lactation Cookies, Reglan, and feeding on demand! Since I started pumping at work 4 weeks ago, I do feel like my supply has increased but very little. I eat anywhere from 2000-2200 calories a day now. My biggest setback is Water. I suck at drinking water (I always have, even before my lapband.) I struggle to get in 2-3 bottles of water a day. I go in phases of good hydration to barely getting in one bottle a day (of any liquid... I don't drink pop or juice or anything). Supplementing is working out okay for us as it has helped him gain normally again....although I really hate it because feeding time takes longer, formula is smelly and makes him spit up more, and its just a pain! I'm hoping to get my supply up slowly and possibly get to EBF but I don't have a time frame and I'm not trying super hard right now (see: pumping every 4 hours and not 2) because I'm still playing catch up at my job from when I was on leave! I will def be waiting until he is 6 months to even call my doctor and see what he recommends. I don't think my issue now is calories in...I really think its hydration. Sigh.
