I am 8 days post-op and find myself thinking CONSTANTLY about food/surgery/me! My grown daughter is home visiting and I worry about cooking for her. I get so annoyed with myself for worrying about those types of things. I need to take care of me. I've always taken care of everyone else and put myself last. Look where that got me! I'm quite sure that the people that are aware of our journey want us to take care of ourselves first. Guilt never got me anywhere....but self care will. I wish you the best with your W.L.S. You are most definitely worth it.

I wish you the best. I had my surgery done 3 days ago and I am doing quite well. Pain is very manageable. I had a lot of nausea, but the doctors, nurses, and my husband were great. ( ice chips, Benadryl, and a nausea patch ) The first 24 hours were the hardest and then I suddenly realized I felt much better. I'm sure many people on this forum will have you in their thoughts.

My surgery is at 9:30 tomorrow morning. Does anyone have any last minute advice or suggestions for the night before? I am in rather a fog...calm, anticipating, and having a hard time believing it's finally here. Is that odd? I've been overweight for so long, I am filled with hope that I will finally get this under control. I am quite ready and totally at peace and happy with this decision.

I love all your humour and "sharkasim" ! I am having my surgery on Friday and was taking things quite seriously....until I saw this post. I guess I am not as "sofishticated" as I thought I was, because I've been enjoying your banter enormously. If you have any last minute pre surgery tips....please let me minnow!

Wow...you are still posting! My surgery is in four days and I'm not sure I will be calm enough to hold a phone. Wishing you a quick recovery and wonderful start to the new and healthier you.

We all have our own way of coping. I always made sure I had on a bit of make up, jewelery, a pretty outfit, and my hair was done. I always felt adequate within my safety zone (home and school). Every time I traveled I ended up full of self loathing and miserable. That is not the life I want. I am having my surgery in 6 days. I'm taking my "pre" measurements tomorrow. WE CAN DO THIS!!!! I am 56 and my surgery is on 10/14. I can't wait for this next chapter in my life!

Two weeks from tomorrow is my surgery. I really can't believe it's almost here. Nervous, excited, and anticipating a happy and health life after WLS!

My date is October 14th in Massachusetts. I am quite ready for this! I am an elementary school teacher and still undecided as to how much time I should take off.

My surgery date is Friday, October 14th. I'm a bundle of emotions, but mainly great anticipation about my future. I had my Lapband removed two weeks ago and required very little rest or pain management . I had the surgery on Friday and went back to school on Monday. I wonder if anyone can give their opinion on the recovery of the two surgeries? I'm hoping for similar results. Is that realistic?
