My libido was alright until a few months ago when I started taking Zoloft and Zyprexa to treat my depression and schizophrenia. Now it's so bad that my fiance is considering leaving me because I literally have no sex drive, and low energy. I WANT to have sex...but the desire isn't really there. I've had hormonal issues that predate my VSG surgery nearly 18 months ago. I knew that I'd have issues, but never this serious. Besides going to my GYN, is there anything I can do on my own to help increase my libido? The doctor also mentioned that my Vitamin D levels were quite low and suggested I take Vitamin D3. I haven't been taking vitamins at all due to the cost. If I don't get help soon, me and my fiance will be heading to splitsville...with no chance of ever reconciling. He acknowledged that it was the psych medications on top of the hot weather here in New York that's causing my issues. Any suggestions, tips and/or advice will be gladly appreciated.

Decreased Libido after My VSG
Kimba Maria Wiggins replied to Kimba Maria Wiggins's topic in The Gals' Room
I stopped taking them due to high costs (I'm low income). He doesn't think I need to take any, which has been an big issue since we started dating. I don't think he really understands what it's like to be with a WLS patient and if we break up, then I'll know that he truly wasn't the right man for me. We've discussed my issues many times and he admitted my issues are very hard and on him, that he doesn't know what to do anymore. I need to find vitamins that won't hurt my pockets. I've already discussed my problems with the psychiatrist and there is nothing they can do for me due to my VSG surgery. I was told to seek alternative remedies to help me. Now I'm beginning to regret having surgery and I wasn't feeling like this before. -
I'm nearly a year out from VSG surgery and I've regained (and lost and regained again). Due to living situations, I wasn't able to eat properly and now I'm paying for it. I'm transitioning back to veganism as a way to get back on track (plus meat and dairy makes me nauseous). What makes things worse is that I have people around me giving me advice, when they themselves aren't taking their own advice (saying they're getting healthy but are clearly not doing so). I've been beating myself up over my errors in judgment, but all I can do is to pick myself up and never do it again. As for this person that's giving me information: She was telling me her friend had VSG, ate no carbs and lost weight. I just looked at her and shook my head. Grrr!

Plant Based Diet After Bariatric Surgery
Kimba Maria Wiggins replied to BrittneyMarie's topic in Food and Nutrition
I am a Raw Vegan chef so transitioning back to veganism won't be much of an issue. I've been one for 11 years but fell off the wagon several years ago. I've done plenty of research and believe veganism is right for me. -
What Post-Sleeve Rules Do You Break?
Kimba Maria Wiggins replied to SassyScienceNerd's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I know when to stop eating. This surgery has forever changed the way I view eating and I'm very thankful for that. I eat 3-4 times a day and I usually eat the aforementioned things occasionally. I'm 7 months post op by the way. -
What Post-Sleeve Rules Do You Break?
Kimba Maria Wiggins replied to SassyScienceNerd's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I eat pasta, bread and rice. Sometimes a slice of pizza, not going to lie. I don't eat them everyday and will not eat them everyday. I used to binge on these foods but not anymore. I am active and always on the move so I'm losing weight and inches (slowly). -
What foods don't agree with your stomach?

Milk if I try to drink it by itself. -
Purees stage
Kimba Maria Wiggins replied to alyssa_vsg's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I skipped the pureed stage and went straight to soft foods. The very thought of eating pureed meat made me gag. I tried and couldn't do it. -

When does hunger return?
Kimba Maria Wiggins replied to chamilton0323's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My hunger returned as soon as I started eating regular food. If I don't eat every 2-3 hours, I feel actual hunger (and not head hunger). I take my acid reflux meds and drink enough water. -
Most absurd thing people said to you when you told them you were having WLS?
Kimba Maria Wiggins replied to mytime4me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had one person tell me that if i ate too much, that my stomach would explode. -

Sleever considering going back to veganism
Kimba Maria Wiggins posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are there any vegan sleevers on this site? I am lactose intolerant and even though I consume dairy and other animal products, it doesn't make my new tummy feel good. I'm nearly a month out. -
How often shoud one eat?
Kimba Maria Wiggins posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I normally eat every 2 hours...but should I be eating that frequently? I'll take 2 Tbsp of yogurt and I'm done. -
Telling Friends and Family about surgery
Kimba Maria Wiggins replied to boymomx2's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I told my housemates, my Twitter followers and my Facebook friends. A few tried to talk me out of it but I wasn't backing down. One was so negative that I refuse to talk to her again. My surgery was 2/28/17. -
How to deal with people who don't support you ):
Kimba Maria Wiggins replied to vsg2266's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had someone tell me not to do it because my stomach would burst if I ate too much, that everyone she knew that had the sleeve surgery gained all their weight back. Someone she knew died of WLS. She was suggesting procedures that my insurance didn't even cover, b-12 shots. Ironically this person has weight issues and her weight has been yo-yo'ing for years. My aunt said that all I need to do is to eat right, exercise and eat organic (forgetting that I have arthritis in both my knees and organic is expensive for someone on Food Stamps). A lot of people were negative and needless to say I no longer talk to them. I had my surgery on 2/28/17. -
Upper GI test... what's it like?
Kimba Maria Wiggins replied to GMen88's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine was a barium swallow. I had to take sips and move around while my doctor took x-rays. No being put to sleep and a camera down my throat. -
Random sneezing
Kimba Maria Wiggins replied to april_MKZ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This just happened to me recently. I was on the bus and I was randomly sneezing and I didn't know why. Normally I would eat my breakfast (yogurt) on the way to my destination but this time I didn't and was sneezing until I got off the bus and ate my normal breakfast. -
I'm 10 days post op and I don't sip...but I don't gulp either. Even my doctor was wondering how was I doing this so early after surgery. My stomach isn't stretched, I feel the restriction when I eat something (like yogurt). I never had any stomach pain after surgery, not one twinge.

Hydration issues
Kimba Maria Wiggins replied to MoVSG17's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have this same issue. Sometimes I don't to the bathroom for hours...and I don't get in enough fluids. I hate the taste of plain water and have been drinking Isopure protein water and coconut water everyday. I bought some Gatorade G2 so I'll see how my body reacts to it. My doctor said I need to drink 64oz of fluids a day...but I barely get in 32oz. -
TMI Question for the Ladies
Kimba Maria Wiggins replied to tlh4life's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine started not too long after my surgery. And it was very very light. Normally it's very heavy. And it lasted 4 days (as opposed to 7). Mine was to almost end on my surgery. -
Feb 2017 sleevers - how's everyone doing post-op?
Kimba Maria Wiggins replied to biginjapan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved 2/38/17. I'm having some issue getting in enough fluids. I can get them in easily, I'm just not getting in enough. I feel good, not tired like I was the first 3 days post-op. Looking forward to the soft/mushy foods stage -
How is it that some people are already eating foods less than 3 weeks after their sugeries and able to tolerate it...but some people can't? I admit I had French Onion Soup and I had no issues...tried to eat chicken Noodle Soup...BAD idea. Lesson learned.

I'm 6 days post-op
Kimba Maria Wiggins replied to Kimba Maria Wiggins's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm now getting anywhere for 20oz to 48oz in a 24 hour period. Thankfully I'm not dehydrated. -
It's been a rough 6 days. The first 3 I was so tired, I didn't want to get out of my hospital bed or do anything but sleep. But now I feel much better. I'm able to get in my fluids easy (just need to drink a bit more). Yesterday I got 40 oz of fluids in and today it'll be close to 35 oz. I know that's not a lot but I'm trying my best. My surgeon said that I needed to consume 64oz of fluids a day but there is no way I can do that so soon after surgery. I almost cried when everyone else was enjoying their meals and I couldn't eat a single thing they were cooking. Things will get better, I know it.
