  1. Hi Camber, I have not attended a support meeting but am considering it. I really like Kristin and she runs them I believe. Camber, what date did you do your pre-op group meeting with Kristin? My preop meeting was May 16th. I'm going to the next support group. I've heard good things about them from Kristen. I'd love to meet you! Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App
  2. @@Seastar My post-op is two weeks after the surgery. I can't comment on Dr. Housework but so far I love Dr. Srikanth and his nurse, Kristen, and all of the staff at the office. He is very thorough which has been reassuring for me since I have a lot of anxiety. He puts you through a lot of tests and I always felt my safety was the highest priority. He is a better safe than sorry kind of guy. He is a funny man, too, and will tell jokes which also put me at ease. You can tell exactly when he is nearby in the hospital because you'll hear him laughing and joking with other patients or the nurses. My surgery went very well, but I did have really bad nausea after. I felt well cared for and went home the next day when I could hold down my liquids. Both Dr. Srikanth and his nurse checked on me the next day. I do recommend Dr. Srikanth based on my experience so far. Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App

  4. Something I learned... if a liquid version of your med exist then get them before you have surgery. Grinding pills and drinking pill slurry is no fun. Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App
  5. I'm home now! They had to give me three separate anti-nausea pills before I could keep down the contrast dye. I also had to get checked out for blood clots since my heart rate was high. None to be found! I was walking a lot because of gas pain so I wasn't too worried. I'm able to drink much better now and the main issue is just soreness. My nurses and medical team were awesome with me. It was hard but soon this will be a distant memory. Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App
  6. Well guys, I'm seriously struggling with nausea and vomiting, so much so that I got stuck here overnight because I couldn't drink the dye contrast. The nausea and gas are the worst. I'm just starting to feel the pain 15 hours out but to be fair I couldn't take one of my doses of pain med because of the nausea and being so tired and out of it. Hopefully the next update will be from home. Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App

  9. Yes, dr. Srikanth in federal way Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App Good luck today to both of you! Camber it is a wait in the waiting room. Did you bring some things to do? Do you have a support person there? My son has special needs and even though we planned for my husband to come, he's had to stay home. He will join me later though. I have my phone and I've been binge watching Outlander. I rarely get to watch TV unless I'm working out so it isn't too bad! I just need to find an outlet to charge it at if they don't get me in soon. Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App

  12. He wanted me to lose 25 lbs before surgery and reduce stomach cavity density so I was on a low carb diet that included phases of liquid diet. 10 days before surgery was a clear liquid diet in order to reduce size of the liver. I had the following test before cleared for surgery: EGD, abdominal ultra sound, bone density, full labs, psych eval, GI swallow, and cardiac clearance. Thanks for the details! I found out my insurance will cover 100%! Still have to do 6 months of supervised diet though.Oh man. 10 days of clear liquids before the surgery? How hard was that? Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App Awesome to hear your insurance will cover! Clear liquids prior to surgery was very difficult for me. I hated it. I'm still on clear liquids plus Protein drinks but it's much easier after surgery!Just curious, do you know if Dr. Srikanth used the robot to perform your surgery or just traditional laparoscopic? I'm trying to decide between Dr. Houseworth (franciscan @ St. Francis) vs Dr. Srikanth. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App He used robotic. Awesome!Hi! I'm in the Tacoma area and I'm going in on 6/22 to have my vsg done by Dr. Srikanth. I'm glad to hear things went well for you! I'm getting nervous now that it's getting close. Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App Hoping things go well tomorrow! Update us! Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App Right now I can't sleep because I'm fretting about it all too much! I'll post updates as I go along. I check in at the hospital in just 2.5 hours! 13. My surgery is set for tomorrow and though I have been fine with the idea of it for so long I suddenly feel terrified. It's good to see people who have already come through it in good spirits here. Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App

    Any other June sleevers?

My date is June 22nd. I'm nervous but also excited. The pre-op liquid diet has been hard but I finally have it under control. I started at 264 and am down to 240. I hope to lose a little more before the surgery since my doctor said he sees better outcomes with more weight loss before the surgery. I don't have the best support at home so these forums are a life saver!
