Choosing a Protein Powder
diamondsandpearls replied to missvee's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Which stores carry isopure? I've tried the same stores I get my protein from (shop rite, acme, Walgreens or Walmart) but I can never find isopure. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

September Surgery...Lets do this
diamondsandpearls replied to etorres's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My date is September 12th! I've only been on the pre-op diet for a couple of days, but the last two days I've had a pretty bad headache, which I've read is pretty normal. But other than that, I've been doing ok. I'm a little nervous because the weekend is coming up and I tend to struggle on the weekend when I'm dieting. But I'm going to try to stay busy and focused on my end goal. I'm so excited. It's been a long journey. 10 more days! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
For those that are post op, do to recall how long after your last nutrition appointment was your surgery scheduled? My last nutrition appointment is on the 9th, so I was just trying to get a gauge on how the process with Chrias moves after that. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

diamondsandpearls replied to steffhill's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hope you're stomach feels better....I'm still in the pre-op phase but that's one of my fears. I have a two year old and its so natural for me to pick him up so I Hope I'm able to adjust to not being able to pick him up. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Hi, I'm pre-op too. Based on my timeframe, I'm looking at the end of August/early September as my surgery. My surgeon is Dr. Irgau. I agree it would be nice to have a support group in Wilmington somewhere. I made it to the one at Christiana once but it was crazy to get there. I had to leave work early and with all the traffic it took 30 minutes (it's normally about 10-15). Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Last appointment the 24th BCBS Empire. So many questions.
diamondsandpearls replied to Amurillo04's topic in Insurance & Financing
I'm following this thread. I have Empire BCBS too. At my initial appointment my BMI was 39.2 (I had a previous sleep apnea diagnosis) but after receiving my new sleep study I've learned that I no longer have sleep apnea. I still have two months to go in the process but I'm nervous about approval if I'm not at a BMI of over 40. I've gained a little weight (which my nutritionist says I shouldn't) so now I'm nervous about that too. Hoping you get approved! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
What are you looking forward to?
diamondsandpearls replied to hollybower's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm looking forward to being able to walk into just about any store and know they have something for me. As opposed to asking if they have a plus size section or going to specialty stores. Also, I'm looking forward to one day having another baby and during my pregnancy people not asking if I'm carrying twins or assuming I'm further along then I am. By the time I was 5-6 months pregnant with my son, people would ask me when I was due and when I would say in 3 months, they would ask me if I was sure (yes I'm pretty sure of my due date) or just look totally shocked. Gaining before surgery
diamondsandpearls replied to HeavenlyGirl101's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm in a similar boat as you. At my initial consultation my BMI was 39.2. But it wasn't a problem since I've had sleep apnea for the last 2-3 years. So I was losing at first, but last month I received the results of my new sleep study and found out that I no longer have sleep apnea. So I've gained about 4 pounds because my insurance requires me to have a BMI over 40 if I don't have any co-morbidities. My insurance doesn't require me to lose weight, but the program for the doctors office wants me to try to lose weight, and at minimum not gain more than 1-2 pounds. I have an appointment with the surgeon in a couple of weeks to discuss it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
