Does anyone know what causes a lot of gas and how to prevent or stop it? I have gas all the time at both ends. Blush! It's driving me crazy. Also, what is a "PB"? Pat

Easter I learned an interesting thing. My lunch was so good I wanted to keep eating because I loved the taste even after I knew I'd had enough. That took willpower to stop. It's the first time I've been conscience of how much I just love the taste of food. I probably should have eaten even slower and savored the taste more. I kept thinking, "No, no, I don't want to be full so soon. This is too good to stop." But I did stop. Has anyone else had this experience? Pat

Hello All, I got my first fill Monday. It was for 1.7 c.c. and as of this morning I've dropped 8 pounds. I can't eat much which is wonderful. I'm never hungry. How long does this last? My doctor said that as I lose he'll add more c.c.'s. If I don't lose at least 1 to 2 lbs. weekly, then he'll add another fill. I

Nanster, Thanks for all the information. Tomorrow I get the fill and will let the doctor decide how tight to make it. I appreciate you clueing me in about not insisting on too large a fill to start with. I'll let everyone know how I came out after the fill. Pat

Sunta, I have my first fill Monday, April10 and I'm afraid the same thing will happen to me. After spending all this money and going through the pain, I won't faster results. I plan to tell my doctor to fill that band as tight as he can. I'll be crushed if I don't stop being hungry again. The first two weeks after surgery were heavenly with pounds dropping daily. I'll let everybody know Tuesday how I come out. Here's a question for everyone...Did you stay on liquids for 3 weeks and mushies for 3 weeks? I didn't. Now I'm worried. Pat

I can drink Diet Coke without a problem. Try one. You may be able to tolerate them too. Be careful not to drink too fast though. Also be prepared to burp, but it's worth it. Pat:nervous I keep hitting the wrong key and sending half a message. Sorry folks.

Tammy, Calm down, you're going to be okay. You just had a bad weekend. Have you had a fill yet? If you have, it sounds like you need a tighter fill. You shouldn't have been able to eat a 6 in. sub, much less a 12 in. I think you need a fill immediately. Call the doctor or his nurse and tell them about this. Also, try to gauge your amounts so you don't stretch the little stomach you have left. Let's think your hubby made the comment because he loves you and is concerned, not to be mean. One day you'll be slender and laugh at all of this.:scared: Pat

Nanster: I lost my desire for chocolate & sweets after the lapband. I was a chocoholic but now could care less. Maybe that happened with you since the Snicker no longer calls to you. Before the band that sucker would have called my name until I inhaled the whole thing regardless of how many ounces it was. Pat

Thanks for the support. I feel better knowing that I will lose more after the fill. My first fill is scheduled for April 10. That leaves only one week for me to be careful. I haven't gained any weight which is good. Pat

To: Gail CB Hi Gail, I was banded on Feb. 28 with very little pain. They gave me a pain pump that I hardly used at all. After the first night the pain was so little I only used pain medicine twice. I was going to exercise class in a week. Pat

Hi, I had the lapband on Feb. 28 and go for my first fill on April10. In the first 3 weeks I lost 20 lbs. This last week I haven't lost a pound even though I'm not eating more than 900 calories a day and am going to Curves daily. Has anyone else hit a plateau so early like this? happycomfortpsl
