12 days post-op. Depressed and struggling

Strawberry I know it’s really hard but I agree with everyone else please ask for help if you need it even just to talk to someone will help you. I have also suffered from depression since I was a kid exercising helps even when it seems impossible if you could just walk around the block you’ll feel so much better. Also remember there was a lot of estrogen in your fat and you’re losing it so your hormones are all out of whack and you’re very emotional and moody everyone goes through it remember it’s temporary and you will get through this, One day at a time

    I’m new here

oops sorry looks like you are removing the band you got in 2011and having the bypass?

    I’m new here

I agree with Matt Z, please re-think the band, I know someone that had major issues with hers and had to have it removed, she could not eat anything, was waisting away and very sick and malnourished. Kaiser won't even offer the band anymore because of so many problems that people have had.

    Staples or stitches

Neither, Kaiser used glue, so I could shower right way, they slowly dissolved over time, a week or so I think
  6. I had T2 Diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol for 11 years, my RNY 2 years ago was a huge gift! I feel so much younger, no more T2 diabetes, high blood pressure or high cholesterol, arthritis has practically gone away. You will be fine. I was 52 when I had my surgery, was ready to get back to work in less than a week. Concentrate on walking and getting your water right after surgery, it will be hard but you can do it!

I’m obsessed with these vegan jerky bars.

They are pretty good the packages are hard to get open though lol. I prefer the Unisoy jerky, you can order from them directly or they are on Amazon. I like the teriyaki and black pepper flavors. The spicy is tooo spicy for me, I ended up giving it to a client. The Louisville jerky is also yummy, all flavors. I get them from Thrive online they have the best price. Have you tried the Enlightened fava bean crisps? So yummy and crunchy and salty. Helps if you are craving potato chips, they have protein and fiber! The mesquite bbq is my favorite but all flavors are good. I find mine at Safeway/ Vons
  8. I was a diabetic for 11 years, so happy that I am no longer diabetic. My high blood pressure is gone now too, my RNY was best thing I have ever done for myself!

    For those using vitamin patches

I get the patches here at the bariatric pal store, I use this https://store.bariatricpal.com/collections/vitamin-patch/products/gastric-bypass-vitamin-patch-pack-30-day-supply My kaiser nurse that runs our program says the calcium does not absorb well and will not show a deficiency in a blood test because the body leaches it from your bones so I also take a chewie bite per day. I just had my 6 month tests last month and everything was great!
  10. I was able to sleep flat on my back as soon as I came home from the hospital, on my 3rd day. It's different for everyone

    Reader discretion advised

After surgery I did not go for a whole 7 days. I used stool softeners and more water and I was good. Had more issues later down the road and had to eventually use suppositories, once I was able to eat veggi's I was regular and have been ever since
  12. Yes! I am just over 7 months post surgery, I can drink like normal, just give it time. I think I was able to drink normally around 2 months after
  13. I had my RNY surgery at Kaiser six months ago they told us that when your nose starts running, your body is telling you that you are eating too much. Sometimes it runs when I eat sometimes it doesn't, its interesting Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    I'm struggling with muscle loss.

When I stoped taking the statins I did increase my Co q 10 for a year so I am not on any medication right now and my diabetes is in remission Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
