My Gastric Bypass Story!
Karen Kenney replied to brimm_brittany's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi, I had my surgery July 13, RnY, I would suggest you concentrate on broth and water, don't worry about protein shakes for a few days. You need to get up and walk, at least around your house to get rid of the gas that will help with pain and nausea, good luck -
wow you look great!

I can't live like this!
Karen Kenney replied to summersslim's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
@@summersslim I'm so sorry you're having such a hard time. Did they give you anti nausea meds, that will help a lot. Sip Water all day, little tiny sips. Water and broth, don't worry about Protein or Vitamins, you need to stay hydrated -

@@jenn1 Hi I am also using a cpap, hate it been using it for about 15 years. I've lost a little over 50 lbs I think maybe another 20 before I can stop the dreaded machine. How much did you lose before trying to sleep without yours? Really looking forward to sleeping on my side, thanks! -

a nude shoe is sexy and will go with any dress, makes your legs look longer. you can add some color with your bag, red or gold go well with navy, or if it's a daytime wedding you can do a nice caramel brown purse, you will get more wear out go it, the red or gold is for special occasion

I have been losing hair for moths already, I just had my surgery last week. It was the pre-op diet. Biotin does nothing according to my doctor, makes sense I had been taking it for years and my hair still fell out. One of the Kaiser doc's said it's Vitiman A that helps with hair growth, and that is in our multi Vitamins. I don't think there is much that can be done unfortunately I found this great hair powder online at QVC the Joan Rivers Beauty line, Great Hair Day, it's only $33 including shipping and lasts forever. I have dark brown hair and use the Blonde color. It's a powder that you brush on your clean scalp, it stays until you wash it out. Makes the bald spots look like hair http://www.qvc.com/qvc.product.A78804.html?sc=PSCH

Scared...advice please
Karen Kenney replied to Mauimamma????'s topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
@@James Marusek @Mauimamma I had my RnY last Wednesday and I feel great, my diabetes seems to be in remission. I had been taking Metformin and really high doses of insulin called u5oo ( 5 times stronger then reg insulin) twice a day, made me gain so much weight! Since my surgery I have been loosing 2-3 lbs a day and I have so much energy. No problems with my new pouch, I can sleep on my back. My high blood pressure, arthritis, heartburn and depression seem to be gone too, I am hopeful that with another 40 lbs I will be able to stop using my sleep apnea CPAP machine, I can hardly wait! -
@@soon2bthinmiami Hi It's normal to be worried about dying with any surgery. I was worried too. I had my RnY last wednesday, and I am doing great. I had diabetes, sleep apnea, high cholesterol, hypertension and arthritis, all but the sleep apnea seem to be gone or greatly diminished. This is the right thing to do for your girls, you will be with them a long time, a good long life, a healthy slimmer new you! It is scary but well worth it. I will pray for you, please don't worry

Where are all the 50 something bypass patients?
Karen Kenney replied to choosehope's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
@@Cheri_j my diabetes seems to be in remission too! So awesome, had it for almost 13 years, wasn't sure if this would work or not. Have not had any readings over 134, and that's an hour or so after a meal! Very happy no more insulin or metformin for me -
I had my surgery July 13, they kept me in the hospital for two days because of nausea. I'm doing well, no pain since the 2nd day home, no troubles eating my soft stage 2 foods, I gained 9 lbs in the hospital, but have lost it now. Almost all the bloating is gone. I think my diabetes is in remission
