    Healing

So, I don't know each day how much I will eat. As I said before, some days I can eat more than others. Each day I work on getting protein in and can do that. My surgeon said that overtime I can expect 3/4 cup food max. As of now 1/2 cup max is it for me. We are all different so it is hard to pinpoint.

    Healing

Not quite sure what you mean but I don't think it is possible to know your stomach is fully healed since it is aLL on the inside. My surgeon said 6 weeks for healing. As for eating more, I can't remember, however today at 6.5 mths I still have days where I can eat more than others. Don't know why but I just do the best I can to meet my goals.
  4. I have baby fine, thin hair. I have NOT lost tons of hair. I did notice more shedding at 3 or 4 mths out. Went to hairdresser yesterday and he didn't notice I had lost any and I've been going to him for 20 years! He said that there isn't really anything that can be done about it.

    Wedding dinner advice...

Being sleeved takes some adjusting to. Evenntually, food will not hold the same value that it used to. I have found that any restaurant I go to or any event, I can always find something to eat. When at your stage, I always had a Protein shake before and then didn't want anything else. I have also learned to keep a Protein Bar handy for the times when I am not able to eat but need something. It is a learning process for sure. Have fun at the wedding!
  6. I don't get why you and so many others think they will not lose weight or that the sleeve won't work. My mother would have said "why are you so special?" Lol The sleeve is just a tool. We have to do our part according to doctors plan and our bodies will respond the way it needs to in the time frame it needs to. Adding unnecessary worry will impact your body, and not in a good way. Make it easier on yourself and go with the flow while you heal.
  7. Sounds like your calorie math doesn't take into account the fact that your body is healing and adjusting. If you continue to follow your plan, the weight will come off. And, 16 lbs in the first month is excellent!
  8. Hey there @@ShelterDog64! Absolutely spot on. I really don't understand not being responsible for our own decisions. Maybe needing permission makes it easier to eat what you want to eat even if it doesn't help with the weightloss. I made choices last month that I knew would hinder my weightloss a little. I live with the consequences. During the post op diet phase, I kept my doctors list for each stage handy and adhered 100%. I wasn't willing to risk a complication. All has worked out well. Adopting a lifestyle change and letting the old diet mentally go has helped me a lot! Happy New Year!

    Stale

Very normal. Search for stall, not losing, etc and you will find hundreds of posts from others going thru the same. If you stick to your plan and meet your goals, the weight will come off.

    Hunger returning at 3 months?

I am just over six months out and some days I feel like I can eat more than others. However, I don't give into what I think may be hunger and continue to lose. With stalls every now and then. Just stick to your plan, drink water when you think you are hungry, and the weightloss will continue.

    Help?!?

It may be a matter of one bite too much. I have done that twice and never again. It is so very uncomfortable. Never have taken papaya enzymes. Might just be some time that you need. Sorry for your struggle.
  12. I would call your surgeon. Hard to try to identify it online.

    Help?!?

Sorry I can't help. Never felt that. Walk and see if it helps. How far out from surgery are you? Did you eat a new food? Too much?

    Cold medicine?

I just ended a 10 day cold and used Tylenol cold and some days sudafed. Also, gargle with crest pro health mouthwash.
  15. Walking for first month.
  16. I had no gas pain. Surgeon said he does try to get it out before closing everything. Whatever pain I might have experienced was well managed in hospital and like others I walked several hours after getting to my room. Only pain at home was the muscle by largest incision but it was tolerable. Can't even remember how long I felt it.

    Mushy foods stage

Scrambled egg with cheese. Was delicious!
  18. That pain will subside. I think it took a couple of weeks for me but I just knew to prepare everytime I stood up. I tolerated it. Well worth it. See? I am 6 mths out and have forgotten those details. What I do remember is being focused on a new life and going with the flow, following my plan and beginning a wonderful new life. You can do this!

    Question?

I met with my chosen surgeon with the idea of the bypass. We talked thru both and he assured me I could lose to goal with sleeve and less aftereffects. And, if for whatever reason I didn't have success with the sleeve, I could then do bypass. I love my sleeve. Hardly any pain, no nausea, aND haven't found a food my sleeve doesn't agree with.
  20. This is a huge change for you, not anyone else. Hopefully your loved ones aren't so cruel that they plot to taunt you. You made a brave decision to get surgery over the holidays. Bravo to you! You took a bold step for your health and didn't use excuses. This is your new life. It gets better every day. Keep your eye on your goal. Focus on what is best for you!

    Meeting Goals

I am 6 mths out and I can only eat 1/2 cup of tuna salad. Anything else is more like 1/4 cup. It is important to stop eating when you feel satisfied or your intuition tells you to stop. Right now, your nerves cannot signal fullness in the manner you can recognize. Also at 2 weeks out I drank 2 Protein shakes a day. You can always add unflavored Protein powder to other things you choose to consume on your plan. After surgery is a lot of figuring out what works best for you.

    Newbie help

Getting in your liquids is most important. If you are feeling better then definitely up the protein shakes to meet that goal. It will help you feel better. You can also add unflavored protein to soups, cottage cheese, and other things on your plan. Glad you are feeling better!

    Unexplained pain

Most likely, your bites are either too big or you are eating too fast. If that is not the case, stick to full liquids for a few more days and try again. Sometimes the swelling has not gone down enough to advance to another stage.
