I didn't have any restrictions for Caffine and drank tea from day one. No issues. Good you are being aware and cautious.

    Please help

Are you meeting your Protein intake? It is very important so your body will release fat. Have you lost inches? Is your body changing in any way? Building muscle? I would definitely call your surgeon and get his/her perspective. Also, when you feel hungry, have some protein or glass of Water. I've been battling some head hunger but am determined to not give into it.
  3. The goal is to stop eating when satisfed, not full. I too want just one more bite, but from the 2 times I did that I felt so uncomfortable and miserable. I stop before I finish my serving and wait at least 5 to 10 minutes before I really know that I am done. Count the number of bites if you have to and eat one less to keep from getting sick. This is a learning process for all of us and while we are early out, things change. That seems like a lot of food for your stage. I had surgery 4 days before you and I have 1-2 shakes a day with 2 meals of 1/4 to 1/3 cup of food each. Protein first. I know as my capacity increases I will be able to add more veggies and fruit.

    Starving!

I don't think any of us loved the liquids part but it is very necessary for healing. Your stomach doesn't need to work very much right now so it can heal from being cut and stapled. Real food will come along soon enough.

    Stage 2 diet cream soups

I didn't have any restrictions with cream soups as long as they didnt have bits of anything. You eat so little of them.

    Sodium

I am 2 mths out and my stomach makes lots of noises when I eat and other times when not eating. All part of process.
  7. It is an individual choice. I weigh everyday. It keeps me accountable. Even if I am on a stall and the scale hasn't moved, it makes me more determined. I know it will move again. If I only weighed once a week and was in a stall and didn't know it, it would be quite shocking to discover the scale hadn't moved in a week.

    VSG & hernia repair

I did. My doc said my hernia was more complicated thend he expected but I never felt anything but a little pressure in that area for a day or so. It did t delay or add to my recovery which was smooth all the way.

    Difficulties with liquids?

Take even smaller sips and go slowly. Try different temps of liquids. It is so very important to get your liquids and protein down.

    Just wondering

There is a recent thread on this subject with lots of responses. You can search for alcohol to find it.

    Vegas, regrets and a NSV

Depends on the protein bar. There are many that are not hard and chewy. Atkins chocolate and Peanut Butter are my fav.

Caloric Intake ~ 2 Weeks Out, Onward

My doctor has me only focus on protein and liquids. No calorie counting even at 2 mths out.

    Scrambled eggs?

Try one egg. I have not had any problems with scrambled eggs but I sure couldn't eat two. (Still mind boggling.) Also, adding a little water instead of milk makes them fluffier and not as heavy.
  14. You are in a stall and it very normal. Your body needs time to make adjustments. This will pass. There are many, many posts on here about this. I am 2 mths out and just finished my 2nd one that lasted two weeks. You will probably lose inches during this time.
  15. My stomach is very noisy. Sometimes gurgles just from drinking water.
  16. Also, don't eat until you are full. Stop when you are satisfied. We no longer have to clean our plates.
  17. I saw my surgeon today (exactly 2 mths since surgery.) Had really good dialogue, with him asking lots of questions. He summed things up well. I asked him about my recent 14 day stall and he said stalls do happen, but when they last that long, there is a reason. However it is difficult to pin point that reason. He said to eat different food, eat more, eat less, increase Water, change up exercise, etc. It just takes finding the right small change that will start the loss again. And, he said I was doing great with having lost 42 lbs. One of the ladies who works there said I was rockin it! All made me feel proud. I don't have to go back for 3 mths but can always call with questions or come in if I want to. He and his staff provide great personal service. On with my journey.....

    HUNGRY!

    Munch on sugar-free popsicles.
  19. You feel how you feel. I was a little nervous, a lot excited, and a bit like out of body experience.

    Question

Yes. Just came off of one that lasted 2 weeks. Up, down, up, down. Frustrating, but if you stick with your plan, the weight will come off. Now I have lost 4 lbs in 3 days. That feels good!
  21. I am 8.5 weeks out and just finished 2nd stall. It is part of losing weight. You are normal!
  22. You are not alone. It is a weight loss thing. Our bodies take time to adjust and the scale won't move no matter what we do. I had the same thing happen around 6 weeks. Up, down, up, down, for 14 days. Last weekend the scale started down again and I have lost 4 lbs in 3 days. Yea! Other posters have experienced the same. Just keep doing what you are doing and the weight will come off.

    I'm firing my surgeon.

All offices are different. Mine includes aftercare for a year with no co pay and the surgeon meets each time with his patients. He doesn't use a PA and makes it very personal.
  24. You will get a wide variety of experiences. I had a great one. No pain, no nausea, no gas pains, up and walking the afternoon of surgery. Home next day, slept, sipped Water, slept more. Off pain meds in 2 days. Took some Tylenol for a day to help with soreness when standing and getting out of bed. Hope your surgery goes well!
