  1. Try upping your water to 80 to 100 ozs, even on days you dont workout. Your body will retain what it needs and anything over that will wash out toxins and help with weightloss.
  2. Walk, walk, walk for gas pain. It usually refers to your back and or shoulders. The surgical pain for me was below where my largest incision was. That takes time but was very manageable.

    Liquid diet hell

Getting to soft foods makes all those weeks of liquids a distant memory! Hang in there, you can do this.
  4. You can do anything you believe you can. Don't let anyone get in the way of reaching YOUR goals in life!

    7 days post op vgs

Have you had a follow up with your surgeon? Make sure you check blood pressure regularly and as long as you are meeting your protein and water goals you will feel better and stronger each day.

    Week 3 Stall

I have found that this weightloss journey includes consistent stalls. Our bodies are all different and will do what they need to do . Our job is to follow our plan to our part. Stalls can get frustrating but are part of the journey.

    Salad

Depends on your plan. Some have trouble with lettuce. I only eat salad as a meal such as taco salad, chef salad, etc. There is more protein in my salads then lettuce as there is only so much room for food.
  8. I am finding weightloss with the sleeve to be so different from the many, many times I have lost before. I could always lose steadily, but now it is in waves that roll in slowly. And once that wave hits the shore it goes back out to sea for a week or two. This is my pattern now. Time will tell if it changes, but it helps me to know this is how my body is working. This morning I got on the scale expecting to see a gain because I went to an art opening last night and had 2 glasses of wine. Imagine my surprise when the scale showed a loss of 1.5 pounds! So happy. (I don't even care that it might have been 2 if I hadn't had wine.) I love my sleeve. I love that it stops me from eating too much. I love that I feel like I can live a normal life. I love that I don't feel deprived. Thanks for listening. Unless you are on this journey, it is hard to understand. How is everyone else dokng?
  9. You are swollen and puffy. Think maybe it took or 3 weeks for me.
  10. 2.5 mths out and avg 800 a day.
  11. My doc said taking a small sip to wet your mouth is ok. Put water in a shot glass when you eat and dont consume more than that.

    Over eating?

I got full on 4-5 bites of mashed potatoes. Everyone is different. Try having some protein before the potatoes and you will feel more satisfied.

    Sleeved yesterday

You can never too too well the day after major surgery. Sounds like you are getting down what you are supposed to. Everyone is different and as long as you are on plan that is great. If you trusted your surgeon enough to perform surgery, why question if they did their job well enough? Don't worry yourself thru this journey. It won't help you. I never had any trouble with getting fluids in, had no pain, no nausea, and felt good. There are many, many, many more with same experience.

    Trying to not be jealous

I know how I am supposed to be. Supportive and happy for him...people ask oh how much have you two lost. I want to cry. I will focus on the good, look at the scale less and work on my self-esteem.... your post helped. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App I have people ask me how much have I lost and it is really none of their business. I answer, well that is not as important as how I feel and I feel great. The weight comes off over time. They quickly respond with something like well, glad you are feeling good. You look great. The main reason I don't track my loss to others is that everyone has their own expectations and ideas and really, unless you are on a wls journey, you really don't know what it is like. When others ask you about you and your husband just let them know that things are going well and you feel good. They likely won't dig any further.

    Trying to not be jealous

You mentioned you are happy about his diabetes being better. How about focusing on things like that that you can be grateful for (for both of you)? Jealously will destroy you from the inside, but gratefulness will help you blossom from the inside out. Start with one thing and add to it daily.

    Please HELP with some advice!

Have you been for a follow up with doctor? Mine discussed what I was consuming, how much, how often, etc. I was told that our bodies are still figuring out what is going on. It wasn't just our stomach that changes. Also, your body doesn't know preop loss from post op loss. It just knows loss. Whatever you lost preop, if any will impact you overall.

    Trying to not be jealous

This isn't a sprint to the finish. Men typically lose faster then women and he had a different surgery and, and, and....... You will both be able to reach your goals over time.
  18. It is probably is ok to ignore, I was just surprised. They are on my plan for weightloss, but since I am Soooooo used to counting carbs, it bothers me. Thanks for sharing about the zipcicles. I see they have them at bed, bath, and beyond for same price so I will stop by soon and get some. Amazon reviewers used them also for snack packs and frozen adult beverages! Probably need to avoid that though! :-)

    Tired.

Yes. I went thru that too. When I could, I took a short nap. Body is still healing and adjusting to this new lifestyle. Give it what it needs when you can.
  20. I tried to visualize myself doing that and I dumped the food in my lap before I got it to my mouth!
  21. @@suzzzzz That's tragic about the popsicles...I've been eating them too and had no idea they have that many carbs. May have to reevaluate them, but they've kept me sane at times! I hear you about the shot metabolism...all those years of losing/gaining/losing have destroyed mine. Congrats on the nsv. It is exciting to wear a new smaller size. I tried on lots of things in my closet over the weekend and found some new things that fit again and a couple of things too big. I'll take it. And socializing does take us off track but it is better than living a boring life trying to control everything. I am going to a fun wedding this weekend and I am preparing myself for a gain from it, just in case. And yes, sugar free popsicles, wish I hadn't read the box! I am going to get a popsicle mold and make some from crystal light once I finish what is in my freezer. Now, if I could only eat one popsicle a day, the carbs wouldn't bother me. Grrr. Have a great losing week everyone!

    Corn....

Corn is hard to digest so I would skip it all together for now. It won't make any difference in the soup. And this is coming from a corn lover!

    Fears

Our thoughts become reality. Write yourself a new story, one where you are very successful and reach your goal or more. Tell it over and over until you believe it!

    Pain with soft food

Your stomach may not be ready for something that thick. Go back to soups and thinner liquids and try again in a couple of days. Swelling varies with everyone.
