Tuna salad, chicken salad, deli turkey, ground beef scrambled egg, cheese, refried beans, canned fruit, well cooked veggies were on my soft food list. Check with your surgeon's office to see if you can have any of that. If not they may have other suggestions.

No. I would call your doctor or go to the emergency room.

Friction with my best friend
suzzzzz replied to gonefromhere's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Wow. Sounds like she is only focused on herself. For me, a best friend would support me and not make everything about her. Have you shared your concerns? I would have a non accusatory, non judgemental discussion about your feelings and then let her respond. -
Has anyone gone away on a vacation 3 months after surgery?
suzzzzz replied to Lilikchen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
But you aren't going on vacation now. You will be able to eat more at 3 mths and there will be temptations so keep that front and center. If you search this forum for cruise or vacation, you will find many threads about it. Enjoy! -
That could be your signal to stop eating or you may be trapping air. Try taking one bite less and see if that helps.

Final pre-op appointment question
suzzzzz replied to musicmovesme's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I thought it was routine also because my surgeon mentioned it as part of the surgical process when explained it all to me. He did say that sometimes if they can't get it all out, it can cause some pain. -
Final pre-op appointment question
suzzzzz replied to musicmovesme's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Definitely ask about getting the gas out before you are closed up. My surgeon did that and I had zero gas pain. Make sur you have post op instructions and keep them handy during recovery. I'm sure all will go well. -
It is really hard to tell fullness at that stage. My suggestion is to stop when you first question it. Then you can always have more if the feeling goes away. There is a little liberty with post op diet until you get on solid foods. I doubt you can eat enough to not lose weight. I wasn't given any quantities to measure and it worked fine.

On this site, search for puree and you will find recipes and ideas. Also, Google eggface recipes on the net.

After how much time ....
suzzzzz replied to Angelica Marti's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I never felt like a sick person in bed. In fact, it is important to move around as soon as you can. I remember taking a lot of naps the first few day and walking in between. By day 4 I began a kitchen remodel which wasn't fun but the timing wasn't something I could easily change. I made it thru by leaving home in the morning and going somewhere, picking up Soup for lunch and having it in bedroom before a nap.my time being out increased each day. Hope all goes well for you! -
Extend post op liquid diet
suzzzzz replied to Lise2021's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, but I want to take advantage of the first few months esp. The 1st month.Sent from my SM-G925T using the BariatricPal App You can do what you want to do but you may not get the results you want. I didn't have a liquid pre op dit either. That did not hinder me losing after the sleeve. Mostly what I am trying to say is your body needs really good nutrition now, much more so than pre surgery. Best way to get that is thru dense Protein which will also make you feel better. Hope everything goes well for you. -
Everyone recovers differently. Are you still on pain meds? If so, they may actually delayig recovery. The more you make yourself move and the more fluids you get in the better you will feel. I didn't have to change bandages. They should be scabbing over by now.

Daily. Keeps me accountable and I don't get upset if it doesn't go down.

Call your surgeon to let them know. Hopefully you didn't do any internal damage, but they can best guide you.

Extend post op liquid diet
suzzzzz replied to Lise2021's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Why do you want to delay? If you are tolerating the current stage, then I would keep moving forward. You will get better nutrition and will move towards dense Proteins which will help you feel restriction and will keep you full longer. If you want to stay on liquids because you think you will lose more weight, I don't recommend it. Your body isn't the same as before surgery. It is healing and adjusting and the weight will come off if you stick to your plan and give it the nourishment it needs to heal. -
When does your plan say you can have raw veggies? It takes a lot more work for the stomach to digest salad, therefore the delay. Once you do get to have it, there much room if any, after you eat your protein . I only have salad now if it is a meal like taco salad or chef salad, but dont actually eat much of the salad.

Early on it was 5 or 6 small meals. Now it is 3 meals with a snack in the afternoon.

Has the Mrs. returned yet? Was the wine drank from a solo cup? Lol Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-T337A using the [url=https://siteowners.tapatalk.com/byo/displayAndDownloadByoApp?rid=87332]BariatricPal Haha, I'm not that far gone. I was using a small coffee cup. She's not due back for a little while. It's kind of boring around here without her. And what's wrong with a red solo cup? They are a staple here in TX. I've had my fair share of alcohol from them over the years, but wine deserves a glass!

Getting water in should be your number one priority. Good you are in puree but doesn't matter if you get dehydrated. Keep drinking all day long. Even at 6.5 mths out, I always have water handy. The more water, the more weightloss too. It helps carry the toxins and fat out of your body.

At soft foods I ate chicken salad, tuna salad, scrambled egg with cheese, ground beef (use different seasonings to change it up), soft shredded chicken ( inside of a chicken enchilada), toppings off nachos with refried beans, ground beef and cheese. There is a lot of variety and you are at the gateway to solid foods. At 6.5 mths out, I have not had any food that hasn't agreed with me. Go slow with tiny bites.

Airport Security Curiosity
suzzzzz replied to DeletedMember's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have flown a lot since surgery and have had no issues. Even with tsa precheck, you still have to go thru metal detector or the scanner in some airports. -
Some women won't care if are wearing a ring, just sayin'. Sounds like that must have been very painful when you did that to your finger. Ouch.

If those foods are on your approved list for this time frame, then try them one at a time. The only one I was allowed was a very soft avocado. And, yes, you will learn to juggle the eating no drinking rule over time.

Do you need to be obsessed to be successful?
suzzzzz replied to Little Green's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
This is truly a lifestyle change and not a diet. The adjustments required become 2nd nature. I choose to live a full life and always have. The only time I was obsessive after surgery was about following my post op plan. However, I still enjoyed my life by going out with friends and had a kitchen remodel start on day 4 after surgery. Being sleeved is forever just as how each one of us decides our compliance. -
Quenching thirst/drinking fast
suzzzzz replied to lacylou's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was able to drink normally after a week and have been chugging for several months. Everyone will have their own experience.
