    Help in a Stall

It is very important to get your Protein in so your body will release the fat. Otherwise it just thinks it needs to keep storing it in case you need it. I would stop eating the bread because it is high carbs and takes up precious room in your sleeve. And, drink, drink, drink. liquids will carry all the fat and toxins out. So instead of a sandwich, make turkey or ham rollups with cheese, avocado, or something else flavorful. You can season and dice up chicken into lettuce leaves. Make chicken and tuna salad and keep eggs handy to have anytime. At 5 mths out, I still have a Protein shake for Breakfast. It fills me up and starts the day off right.

    "The Stall" has lifted!

Just remember this feeling when the next stall happens! For most of us, it isn't one and done.
  3. My pre op diet was 10 days on The South Beach diet which is low carb.
  4. Probably a spasm. They should subside once your stomach figures out it is ok.

    Yummy snack

Central Market makes parmesan crisps daily and they can be found in the cheese area. Very good and not salty. I keep telling myself I will make my own but haven't yet.
  6. Get a list of approved foods from your surgeon. I wasn't on puree until week 3 and mashed potatos were on the following stage for soft foods.

    Satisfying drinks?

I use a lot of water flavoring drops. There are many brands and many flavors. My favorite is half iced tea half lemonade.
  8. You just have to keep at it. Try smaller sips and different temperatures. The swelling will begin to subside and it gets better.

Sample Daily Menu for Soft Foods?

I mashed a soft avocado with a fork and it was ok to consume. Are you required to take those vitamins? I take Nature's Way Alive for women gummies. They are approved by my surgeon and taste good.

Sample Daily Menu for Soft Foods?

At 5 mths out, I still supplement with a protein shake for breakfast. I also don't do formal menus because eating so little doesn't take much planning.
  11. You only have a little room in your stomach. Eat turkey first and you won't be able to indulge in all the temptations around you. My soft food diet allowed mashed potatos as soft veggies so maybe a tiny taste of those things if they are on your plan. If someone gives you a hard time for eating so little, just tell them this is your new life and your choice. It doesn't help to try to reason with others about our choice to be sleeved. If you take ownership, the naysayers will leave you alone after a while because they don't get a reaction. Enjoy your thanksgiving. . It is much more about what we are thankful for than the food!
  12. Your results are fantastic! I am doing well. Feel great. Get to continue to shop for smaller clothes in my closet. I still feel plenty of restriction. Some days I can eat more than others but has been consistent for several months. I am a very happy sleever!
  13. I take Nature's Way Alive for women gummies. They are approved by my surgeon and taste good.

    Need motivation!

Losing 53 lbs in 2.5 mths is fantastic. Adding in exercise may help you lose more, but mostly it will help build muscle. I am not consistent with exercise but as I am losing I am finding it gets easier. My knees are my biggest issue.

    Doed it really hurt?

Everyone has a different experience. I did not experience any pain or nausea. All was controlled by meds. When I woke up, I was just a little disoriented but soon was awake and watching tv. Went off pain meds at home after 2 days and only experienced soreness from biggest incision area. For me, it was worth the risk of pain. The most important part is working to get in fluids and Protein the first week. Following doctors orders is key.
  16. All stages were easy for me. Don't compare your journey to anyone else as our bodies are all different. The transition to soft foods was exciting for me. Scrambled egg, mashed potatos, chicken salad, tuna salad, meatball, soft veggie. Just go slow and take tiny bites. Try one new food at a time. Many report eggs don't agree with them early out but I have not had any issues.
  17. Not sure what your definition of "as soon as I heal" is, but you can prepare appropriately. I think meeting your liquid goals will be the most challenging because drinking so much doesn't bode well with a road trip because of frequent bathroom stops. I eat out a lot and have done so since week 2. Restaurants usually have soup on the menu and they have blended them for me. When on mushies you can get creative with menu choices. I eat the insides of enchiladas and tacos, meatballs, chicken salad, tuna salad, refried beams, soft veggies, etc. And, once on solids, you have more choices. Just take everything new slowly. Victoria is one of the most beautiful places I have been. Enjoy!
  18. There is a section on the forum for band to sleeve conversions that may help you. As for Q2 your surgeon determines your stages of reintroducing food and should provide you a plan. If not, call and ask them. Q3 there is no way to tell what will happen but what could happen is you get sick, you rupture your staple line, get a leak, get an infection. This is why it is not good to advance the stages.
  19. Yes. The person on the inside with the qualities I value are the most important. Before getting to know someone, it is impossible to know what their desires in life are. Being overweight doesn't mean they would be a bad influence on me, and I might just be a good influence on them.
  20. There are tons of topics on this. Search for stalls, not losing and you will get lots of information.
  21. You can pour protein shake into ice trays or popsicle molds and have a frozen treat.

Vitamin K not in Opurity multi?

I take Nature's Way Alive for women gummy vitamins and the label doesn't show vitamin k. These are approved by my surgeon.
  23. Advantages of sleeve over lapband: no need for fills, no chance of slippage or erosion and no trying to find perfect restriction. Many doctors dont even do bands anymore because sleeve has proven to be very effective. Your doctor could tell you best about when you can ride again.
  24. Protein will help keep you full and keep cravings rom taking over. Time to up it.
