Yes still does fills. She is based in snowflake and come to Mesa once a month. However... she is in the midst of changing Mesa offices. So after today it maybe a month or two before she is in the Mesa area. Her number is : 928-409-0039  Wendy is a good caring soul.

Thanks for the idea... I haven't tried it. I will keep an eye out for it. I love popcorn. Not an item I want all the time thought.. one of those weird 3 month cravings that hit.

My advice/personal experience- you have to be very careful with popcorn. It does go down easy when your stoma is open... but on hormonal days, or tight days stay away from it. I too didn't think much of eating a small handful of popcorn 10-15 pop clusters at the movies with the kiddos. Well, hubby stayed in the movie with the kiddos while I paid $8.00 to stay in the bathroom with a massive sliming experience. I ended up on liquids for 3 days to recover from it. Now I stay away from popcorn. It isn't the pop part that creates the problem... it is those nasty kernal skins.

How to shrink a streched pouch?!?!?!?
amamastime replied to phlyinphebee's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thank you for posting the link again about the 5 day test. I haven't been on for a bit.. .got really sick from stress... went right back to liquid phase diet- becuase I am scarred to death of vomiting and stretching. Anyhoo, the out come of liquid shakes and large amounts of water was a tight pouch. Dr said all is well and I haven't streched (thank goodness). Now that stress has gone down... I am starting back on semi-solids. Again, thanks for posting the link. -
how have people handled the negativity from others towards the lap band?
amamastime replied to marineliebe's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
If just not a good idea to smart of to those who are suppose to take care of you through any type of surgical procedure. Nor does it give them cart blanc to say what ever they want. Like the old saying- two wrongs don't make a right (just my view). -
Uncrushable Pills...What do you do ?
amamastime replied to ramone's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
This thread isn't unless. I have two very tiny time release that don't give me any problems. However, the big ones are a different story. That is why you have to work it out with the doctors and pharamists. I use Walgreens and they are like Target- they really keep good track and are willing to help you out. The pharamist have my filed marked for no huge pills. So if a prescribe is given to me that is a big pill... the pharamists kindly calls my doctor and they work it out. I is critical to just talk to those that handle the medicines and not take it into your own hands. By the way, very useful thread for those getting banded, doing research about banding, and creating new medications. -
how have people handled the negativity from others towards the lap band?

shortgal and skinnyjill, You two are funny! I will admit that it felt good to piss him off... but not smart when facing a minor surgical procedure. I am sure I will hear from my doctor at the follow up. I am also sure that my doctor will have no isse after i explain it. Like I said, I really should of handled it better. You all know how us women can get... Moody and hormonal- not a good mix for a bad off the cuff comment. I am sure that after talking with my doctor- all will be cleared up and the nurse will be put in his place. My doctor has a financial interest in the clinic... so he won't let it good easily. But thanks for letting me vent! You know at one point or another- we all hit a wall and hit it hard. -
how have people handled the negativity from others towards the lap band?
amamastime replied to marineliebe's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I will admit my worst negative lapband experience happened last week. I know I could of handled it better- but I was going in for an outpatient surgery and wasn't exactly in a good frame of mind when it happened. I had a male nurse tell me flat out after reading my chart "what you can't go pound the pavement?" (with plenty of negative tone to his voice). My reply (classic bitch mode) "well duh! it wasn't working... what you couldn't simply go to medical school to be doctor?". Like I said, I could of handled it better. It just rubbed me wrong. Needless to say, he wasn't my nurse anymore and I ended up with a lovely lady who had under gone a gastric bypass. Sorry, I just had to share and get it off my chest. -
Uncrushable Pills...What do you do ?
amamastime replied to ramone's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You have to talk to your doctor and pharm person. At time you can use a pill chopper and cut them really small. Other times, there is an alternative for the big pills... but know in advance they never taste good. You have to work it out with the doctors and pharm personal. -
I take in about 60-65 a day. It is a struggle on some days... but others very easy. Just depends on my hormones and emotions.

I get so cold I feel like an iceberg. Get your blood work checked out. For myself, I had a double whammy- low iron and under/not working thryoid. Now I take iron supplements (more then most) and thryoid medication- it has helped.

I love coffee! I drink 2-3 cups a day. Caf before 3pm and de-caf after 3pm. Coffee has been a life saver for me. I add my protein powder to my coffee instead of creamer.
