I appreciate the honesty In my case, the mistake I did that leading to pbing (my family actually was fearful I was having a heart attach- that's how awful it is for me) took small sips at the begining out of BAD habit and of course without thinking. It was so bad... that I don't even allow myself to have a glass/cup at the table during meal time. When out with friends at a public venue... I have the wait staff completely remove my glass when my meal arrives. You should see how crazy they look at me.

use a butter cream lotion... I use the basin products- it takes the itchy away and has a soft scent.

I believe that is a case by case situation. Like I said for me, it will lead to vomiting and that is completely dangerous. There are others that it is just counter productive. Since the doctors recommend waiting 45-90 mins before drinking... I say... wait. In my case I have to wait 90 mins.

Click this link and you will read all about it http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f78/i-am-new-what-productive-burp-ing-44609/ As for the foods, I could barely get down all my Protein shakes. I only had protein shakes for the first 2-3 weeks -

pushes food through the upper pound that a lapband creates. In my case, if I drink with meals it leading to pbing and actual vomiting. It is the worst experince for me. Not a thing I do.

Have your thryoid hormone level checked. I get very dry alligator skin from an underperforming thryoid. I didn't know I had this problem until after loosing 30 pounds with my band. So ladies... get it checked.

Just a question or two here: 1) Could it be all the food commercials making you want to eat? Late night tv is full of junk/fast food commercials. 2) Do you feel the need to chew or keep your hands busy?

caryn, don't feel bad... this is an issue that most of us women have. I was very bad this weekend and had chocolate. Now I paided the pb'ing price for it... so I am sure I will be scared of it for awhile. However, I found that in my case, if I feel guilty about a poor choice- then i just snowball from it. So put your chin up high... and buckle down. The rest are right... you are in the healing hell phase. I remember fighting my craving so bad that I was shaking. My husband would tell me I was on junk withdrawals. In hind sight, I see he was right. Make sure you get your protein and water! If I fail at that, then that is when I make bad choices. I too just happened upon this feature. Like you, my weight is an ongoing fight I am curious how this feature with work and run. I wish I could have no grocies in my home, but that is impossible with a 2 year old and 6 year old. My lapband has been working and I hope I have truly changed my ways. I know it is a choice for me. This month has been a frustrating one for myself with other medical situations. I have not been able to loose more weight and I am okay with where I am - I just can't put on any. I feel that is the part that scares me the most. I don't want to put any on. I am hoping (like MoOrLEss stated) "journaling will help to keep me accountabe" for my choices. I look forward to getting to know some of you all and being true to myself. -

tenacious tens-what are your intolerable foods so far
amamastime replied to bandster_1007's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You aren't alone. Family gatherings are awful becuase of all the sabatage that happens. My family knows my weakness and will provide plenty of it. It is hard to remain strong... Perhaps, maybe you should take to your husband to find out why he feels he needs to bring home all your weaknesses. Just and idea. -

There are good and bad experience since the outcome of the surgeries and the effect of the lab band vary from person to person. From reading the post, it sounds like skinnyplease is warning against the use of belite services. I can't respond to that, since they are a middle man service that I don't have experience with. This is why it is critical that you do your research take in the good and the bad- then make your own decision. Both my husband and myself were very please with Dr. Rod's services. We both didn't have any complications either. But that is our story.... Oh yeah, one more thing you want to do is use a "rolling suitcase" as your luggage and clean out your purse. You will be at a lifting restriction of nothing over 5 pounds. I got the airport guys to help me. I checked my luggage and one of the kind information people helped to get my bag off the luggage claim belt. -
I have an amy brown pixie on my upper back about 4x6 in size. As I stated before I am working on my right arm sleeve, which is a series of wild flowers. I go in for the background on the 12th. I do understand about people wanting to get tattoo only in spots they can hide. However, I have found that the old sterotypes of a tatted person are changing. It is becoming as common as jeans and sneakers.

I would have to say my altime favorite meal since receiving the band has been: Flower drop soup 1/4 cup chicken broth (I use veggie) warmed then mix in 2 well beaten eggs stirring constantly to give the right texture. Enjoy! It has been my favorite meal when I am tight. -

Congrates and best wishes to you. What I would differently... Bring a sports bra! My rep forgot to mention this... and of course I had other things on my mind. Don't forget your chapstick and slippers. I was up and walking shortly after. When I woke up, I actually had to check that I did have the procedure done (it was of course). When you first get up... slow and steady... hubby got up too fast and was spinning.... slow and easy to incline and loads of walking. -
I am not a nov babie either... but oh do I love tattoos. I have one on my back... and Amy Brown style tattoo Fairy Tattoos: Amy Brown Fantasy and Faery Art: The Official Online Gallery (for those who love fairies and all things fairy orientated). I am finishing up and arm sleeve with plans to contine and finish my back. I do not regret my tats. I waited until I had my kids (31) before I got my first one. It was a big one 4x6 area. If you do go get one... Please share the pic of it.

Dr. Rod from Acuna Mexico. His full name is Dr. Jose Rodriguez. He and his assistant are working from the new facility too. For myself, going to mexico was the right decision. Dr. Rod saved my life! This is honestly how I feel. -

I too was banded by Dr Rod in May 2007. I had an absolutely wonderful experience. Dr. Rod does give you all the medical documents, band information, and so forth that you may need at a later date. Since I live in a the southwest, I haven't had a problem with finding local care. It isn't too expensive for me to return to Dr. Rod if further care is needed. I adored the staff, facilities, and locals there. My experience was so positive that my hubby was banded in July 2007. I wish you much luck and good health on your adventure. No matter where you choice to go, be smart and get all your research done. Feel free to PM if you have any specific questions luckylinds. Much respect from AZ.
