Considering your use of improper grammar, erp, I won't take offense to the tone of your response, however for shits and giggles I have provided the dictionary definition of disordered for you. "disrupt the healthy or normal functioning of." And thanks, I do know and have read the DSM V (not 5). Please don't respond, erp, as your poorly written statements are an embarrassment.

Does your surgeon understand Water weight/retention and the changes a woman goes through monthly? I cannot imagine a doctor recommending that.

You shouldn't be weighing yourself everyday, that is extremely unhealthy. Try once a week at the same time to truly track your progress, or go by how your clothes fit.

Hi all- I was sleeved on 8/1 and while perusing the forums I noticed a lot of people who live by the numbers on the scale, getting weighed everyday, etc. Weighing yourself everyday is terrible and should be stopped immediately. I don't even have a scale because how my clothes fit is more important than those numbers, in addition to the fact that muscle weighs more than fat. I am extremely concerned for people who live by the scale, it is a disordered behavior, and can set you up for more serious problems. Please, I know there is a goal to be reached, but please, everyone, try to only weigh yourselves once per week at the same time of day. Focus on getting healthy and the weight WILL fall off, I promise. Also, if you just had surgery, please don't even step on a scale until your post-op follow up appt.

Surgery date: August 1, 2016! Anyone else?!

I finally feel a bit normal today aside from the constipation :-(. I am even a bit hungry and able to drink more than an oz of liquid every 20-30 mins. Still recovering and incisions itch but getting there. Total difference from how I felt yesterday- all of the gas from surgery left my system finally and became accustomed to a routine. Haven't taken anything for pain since Tues. Morning, it has mostly been discomfort, not pain. Hope everyone is doing well! -

I used to live in Tampa, so I understand the nuisance of driving, however Southwest does do cheap flights from TPA to FTL if that is an option you'd consider. Best of luck! -
I started with 31.3 BMI and sleeved on 8/1. I don't check my weight due to PST issues, I will have it monitored by my Dr or therapist. I'm more concerned about fitting into smaller pants than a smaller number on the scale IMO.

I was sleeved 8/1, which also coincided with the onset of my period (yuck, haven't had one in a while but had to stop BC prior to surgery). I had terrible cramps and gas pain in the hospital, slept 80% of the time, but reasoned it was what my body needed. Going to the bathroom (after catheter -another yuck- was removed) took all my energy. First day home was super uncomfortable and even with walking still hurt. Today I woke up and am able to finally drink a bit more normally (up to 32 oz already) and am actually a bit hungry since I haven't really eaten since Sunday night. The one thing that would make my life supreme right now is being able to go to the bathroom, but hopefully the miralax and the fact I'm finally actually ingesting something with nutritional content will move things along. It dies get better!

Hey all, just sleeved 8/1 and I was wondering how many oz. Of liquid do sugar free popsicles count as? My sugar free pops have an approximate weight of 1.65 oz so I figure best to round down to one oz? Or should I count it for less than that? Thanks in advance for the responses.

Hey- congrats on getting off DC- I used to drink 70 oz a day at least! I started by just stopping on the weekends when I didn't have to work. Then I stopped completely on a Monday and just drank a lot of water. I miss it, still crave it sometimes, but it is better for you in the long run. Best of luck! -

Dr. Shillingford performed my surgery 8/1/16. I am quite grumpy from some of the pain (mostly because of my period), but everything else going as good as expected. Can't wait to shower and go home! -

Advice from ex smokers?
ami23 replied to cassandramarie93's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went to an acupuncturist, don't know if it really helped but also used cut up straws and gum and a few times an e CIG but soo not the same IMO. I haven't had a cig since, was a 2 pack/ day smoker for 10+ years. Good luck -
I'm starting in a few mins... Freaked. No one knows I'm having this done. Hope everything goes well, starting w low bmi as well. Hope I'll be able to drink water normally instead of all the issues I keep reading about :-)

Best Tasting Protein Shake
ami23 replied to charley27's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't know if this was already mentioned or if available in everyone's area, but I personally enjoy CVS brand chocolate 'nutritional shakes' it has a good bit of Vitamins and isn't too sweet and I like the carb/protein/fat ratios w/o whey and lactose. I also add beef Protein collagen powder (zero taste in a shake) to it sometimes, or some Fiber powder/(I am still pre-surgery but thinking ahead).
