What's In Your Lunch Box
Erika Denise replied to ChelleBelle35's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I try to start mt day with a protien shake. For lunch, I usually eat a packet of low sodium tuna. I pack a little bit of mayo and relish with a sprinkle of seasoning in it to go along with that. I love plums, and muscadines when in season. I also pack pickle spears, lightly salted cashews, and a cheese stick (or some variation) just about everyday. I keep jerky handy too! What Was Your Final "straw That Broke The Camels Back"
Erika Denise replied to bigjoe102's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Achilles pain causing a penguin walk, pre diabetes diagnosis (mom was diagnosed at 40), and that twinkle of motivation being completely burned out by thoughts and memories of bouts of successful weight loss followed by regaining plus more. Oh and unauthorized facebook picture tags lol Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App -
I'm 2 months post op. I've had locs for 1.5 yrs now. I'm nervous about this too. Like could I lose a whole loc? Or are we talking about thinning edges? I know it's temporary but yikes! Patiently waiting and watching. Trying to get all my Vitamins in. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App

Anyone starting to think this isn't the "right" answer/tool?
Erika Denise replied to Kelleylu's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I briefly shared this thought, but I had a second thought that isn't it kind of strange to worry about missing a stomach nearly the size of a football? Especially when I rarely get the urge to stuff it with green veggies, but always have cravings for the endless variety of not so good things? Idk, you can look at that both ways. Anyone else having surgery June 11 at Tijuana bariatrics?
Erika Denise replied to Indianasleeve616's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Everything actually went great. I had watched so many YT vids it felt like I had been there before lol. The only thing I found different was that there was much more of a language barrier in the hospital than I'd expected. A couple of the nurses spoke no English. It wasn't a problem just made me feel very alone ( my mom flew into San Diego, but I crossed the border alone ) Everyone was very nice and accommodating from the hospital, to the hotel, down to the drivers. It was well organized and definitely changed my whole perception of Tijuana. As for healing I am feeling somewhere between 85%-90%. Im in almost no pain. Yesterday made a week so I'm happy with that! The all liquids post op, had me really weak at first. Today was the first day I've left the house for errands and such. Luckily I'm a teacher so I have a little extra time to get back to normal. I'm going to a wedding tomorrow, but Sunday I WILL revisit the gym. Hw was 265 sw was 255 today a week later I'm 245! ... lol I hope I answered something. I feel this was all over the place. I took many pics and vids, I will try to have them on yt soon. I'll keep you posted. Let me know if there is anything else you'd like to know. In House Financing?
Erika Denise replied to canadian_girl's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I applied with Citerra Finance for surgery at Tijuana Bariatrics with Dr. Garcia. I was approved for a partial amount (leaving me with a $1500 balance) due to my debt to income ratio (student loans). However, the rates on this loan were terrible. It was 22+% interest and also an additional $800 fee included in the loan. I am currently working on my credit and have reached the average/good range, so I have no idea how my score effected the rates. I decided I would give my credit union a try. I was approved for a credit card that has 1.9% interest for the first 12 months, and 9.99% after that. I intend to use that to pay for surgery instead. I didn't mean to ramble, but I hope this gives you some insight. I wish you the best! -
Post Op Care in Atlanta after surgery in Mexico.
Erika Denise posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi, I am getting ready to schedule Gastric Sleeve surgery in Tijuana, Mexico with Dr. Garcia. I wanted to know if anyone is located in the Atlanta, GA area who has had surgery in Mexico and received follow up care in Atlanta. Where is a good place to go... or just have contact info on hand in case of any trouble? I would imagine doctors in the US frown upon this. It would be great to know of one in my area who does not.
