Hey everyone. I'm not much of a poster, but definitely a long time lurker. At this point I'm at a loss, though and looking for some advise. Here's the short scoop: Started high weight 230 (12/15) Surgery date 216 (03/16) Stand today at 150. I have about 20lbs left to go to be a 'normal' bmi. I know that I'm a slow loser due to my low start weight (in comparison to most). My body seems happy at the 150-160 range, but I'm not happy here. I've been stagnant for about 6 months now. Any advise for the last few pounds?? Thanks in advance!

I exercise 6/7 days. Mostly cardio. I'll try to increase calories but like...nutritionist typically likes mostly vegetarian/vegan diet. Absolutely no cheese. So may throw a protein shake or 2 in.

Thanks y'all. I have been tracking. I eat about 1000-1100 calories a day & track my food. Might just put myself in more of a deficit for a while & see if that works.

Hello, My surgeon and his team basically have prescribed a vegan based diet following bariatric surgery. I was sleeved on 03/01/16 and have been following this diet as much as I can. I am struggling somewhat but wanted to know how others have done on this type of diet. I have been vegetarian before -throughout my teenage years, but as of late I find myself wanting to be completely raw. Not sure if that's due to it already reaching 100 degrees in Texas or if it's me being lazy. Any one else in the same boat? Thank you. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Hello all, I was wondering how all of you keep motivated with exercising? I love how working out makes me feel but I don't like the idea of doing it beforehand. I know so many people that say that it's normal but I go through slumps where the idea of working out makes me tired and no amount of reminding myself how I will feel after will convince me enough to just go do it. I have a Fitbit and I compete with people at work during the week for steps, but they aren't very competitive and I can win the challenges by just doing 5k steps a day. Which doesn't seem near enough to qualify as exercise. What are your thoughts? What keeps you going? Thanks for reading Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Beans are my main source plus the Protein drinks they like us to have. It's been made very clear to me that if you're eating right - there's no way you can be protein deficient. Just like anything else, though... There is a balance. It took me a while to figure it out, but it's a good thing Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I had my surgery 03/01/16 by dr. Primomo. Best doctor ever. Couldn't speak more highly of the team there. You're in good hands at that clinic Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Hey guys, I've been stuck at the same weight for almost 2 months now. This is extra frustrating because I'm almost 4 months out. My doctor has me on a plant based dietary plan and I've tried upping my caloric intake & lowering it. Nothing seems to change. I do hot yoga 6 days a week for an hour and a half. Any tips? Maybe I will start tracking just to see exactly where I am on macros. I've downloaded myfitnesspal to see if it'll help. Thank you for that suggestion. I was vegetarian for some time when I was younger but I wasn't preop. My surgeon basically prescribed a vegetarian/vegan diet due to the studies that have been done. He's part of Garth Davis' clinic here in Houston. I'll throw my stats out there since I was a low bmi to qualify. preop: 230 surgery:217 current: 170. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

My doctor doesn't want me to really track my food since it's a lifestyle change and not a diet. A lot of my Protein comes from raw nuts/seeds and lentils. I'm always sure to get at least 70oz of Water in a day. Some days it feels like there's not enough time in the day to get all my meals in since you have to wait 30 mins before & after eating before you can drink and water is priority in this Texas heat Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I had really bad GERD after surgery. To the point I was in tears because I thought it was a myth before surgery (silly me). However, I'm just over 3 months out and I don't take any PPIs anymore. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I tend to get a lot of Fluid around my knees so constant pressure on them isn't a good thing. I've found hot yoga to be my best option at this time. All you do is sweat and stretch along with building balance and strength through mind and body. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Hello, I'm not typically one to reach out to the Internet to find a glimpse of something, but here I am. I was sleeves on 03/01/16 and I'm starting to be discouraged. I'm on track as my doctor sees it, but I'm not on track with where I want to be. I'm looking for someone to bounce ideas off of and to chat on the good and bad days with the sleeve. A little background: My husband was sleeved a year ago but my situation is a lot different than his. Although we can relate on some level- he will never understand 100% as I'm a lady and he is not. I am 26 (almost 27, ack!) and I'm just trying to navigate through this newly sleeved life. I was sleeved on 03/01/16 with a high weight of 219 and a current weight of 175. (I'm 5'2 if reference is needed). As my lady issues go, I struggle with endometriosis and pcos. I'm hoping I can find someone I can relate to and they can possibly mentor or we can support each other through this journey. Thank you for taking the time to read this... It's ok. Just hard sometimes for me when my GERD tries to act up. However, it's hard to find a community outside my surgeons office that follows the same thing. Across Instagram (where I follow a lot of people for inspiration) people are worried about Protein goals and calories. My surgeon said I can eat as much as I want and as often as I want as long as it's fruits & vegetables. There's no way you can be protein deficient. I'm trying to stay within those rules but sometimes a girl just wants a grimy pizza or milk chocolate. Not that I've given in yet, but my mind still plays tricks. How amazing! Congrats! I love taking walks around memorial park and down in Galveston next to the sea wall. It's amazing to think about what I've been missing for so many years. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I'm looking to see how you and others like you have navigated and found the balance between the vegan diet/lifestyle and how it's affected your endo & pcos Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Are there other vegetarian/vegan sleevers?

I had surgery with a member of Garth Davis' team here in Houston, TX And they promote a vegan diet. I'm glad I've found others out there! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Thank you Christinamo7. I know I'm trying. But am I doing enough? Thank you Inner Surfer Girl. My main issue is my doctors unorthodox diet post op. I had my surgery with a wonderful surgeon and team, it's just hard to find groups that support the diet and decision they wish for me to follow. The diet I am supposed to follow is basically a vegan diet with no dairy, meat, or animal bi-products. I've been doing decently well, but I've found there's not many people that share this same ideal. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
