  1. @Alex My insurance does not have requirements on what Dr. I can use. They only have the 3 months of supervised weight loss. My deductible and out of pocket expenses have been met and I can choose whomever I would like in or out of network. True Results has their own rules as to how they run and when you get to meet the surgeon. They require you to be medically cleared and approaching your last weight loss visit before getting the EGD at which time, I will meet the surgeon. I have my appointment next week where I am being scheduled for the EGD so I think I will wait and see what happens
  2. They assign a patient advocate. They kind of ask what surgery you want. I advised them that I was interested in the sleeve and they just ask if I have any questions. They gave me a booklet that gives information about the sleeve and that is it. So each time I go in for the weight loss visit I see the patient advocate who is assigned to me. She weighs me in and ask if I have any questions. If no questions, I am in and out in less than 10 minutes. I called them again about meeting the surgeon and now they tell me that I have to redo my ekg because I have to have medical clearance before scheduling my EDG and at that time I will meet the surgeon. I can only get scheduled for the EDG one week before my last weight loss visit on August 1st. So at the end of the day, I still can only see my surgeon when I am at the end of my weight loss visits. It sucks but I have a consultation with another center who says I will meet with the surgeon at the consultation and every time I come afterward. They also said that they can transfer my information so I would not have to restart the process. I hope all goes well.
  3. Thats exactly how I feel. There are no informational sessions. They have 1 group meeting a month and its mainly for post-op. There is one other Dr that they work with who has informational sessions and does it at the TOPS surgical center/hospital. I called that dr.'s office and they said they can not meet with me if I have started with True Results and that TR would have to call them and work something in where I can have a consult with him. I am towards the end and do not want to have to start all over again...This is really not sitting well with me.
  4. Hi all, I have Cigna and it requires me to have 3 weight loss visits, a psych visit, and a sleep study. July 1st is my 3rd visit and I have my last office visit the beginning of August. I have done my psych visit and sleep study. I am going through True Results. Last week I called and inquired about when I will meet my surgeon and was told that I would not meet him until after my insurance came back approved for the surgery. Well according to them, once my paperwork is submitted to my insurance I have to go with whatever surgeon they put on the paperwork or wait an additional 30 days to change and submit again. I am worried about only being able to meet my surgeon 2 weeks before the surgery. What if I do not like the surgeon? I have been told his name but their are few reviews on him. The office would like to schedule my surgery for a surgi-center and not a hospital and I am told I will go home the same day. Is this typical? What was your experience in regards to meeting the surgeon and hospital/outpatient stay?
  5. Hi all, My name is Michelle and I am in Houston, Tx. I recently started the process of getting approved through my insurance company and they required 4 visits and a few other things. I have completed all but my last two appointments..one in July and the last one on the 6th of August. As the days pass I am starting to wonder if this is something I am sure I want to do and I start to have a million and one questions. One of the biggest unanswered questions I have is if I have chosen the right place to get my surgery done. I chose True Results the location off of 1960 and everyone in the office is nice but they told me that my surgery would be done at Physicians Surgi-Center of Houston and not at a hospital. From my understanding this location is on one of the floors in a big office or medical building. I would have hoped to have my surgery at a hospital. Also, they said that I would go home the same day...is that normal? Anyone go through True Results?????
