Im around 1000 calories at 6 weeks out. I'm losing and feeling really pretty good! I feel a lot better now that I'm eating more. If I were really low on calories, I'd add in some cashews or something like that. High in calories, low in volume. My new tummy is not picky at all which is why is so easy to get in around 1000. I'm 4 days post op on clear liquids+Protein shakes. I can drink a whole premiere protein in about 30 minutes, but I can't drink 8oz Water in the same time. Why is this? Is this typical? Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App

I've tried to search, but can't find my answer. For those who were not required to follow a preop diet before the sleeve surgery, did your doctor explain why? I'm just curious and forgot to ask my dr why they don't require any preop diet for their patients. Anybody know why some doctors feel it's not necessary? I doubt it, even though I'd like to. I have a 2 and 3 year old and not much in the way of childcare help during the day. Wish they had an evening group! Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App

Glad to hear positives about Dr Houseworth! I'm getting sleeved by him next week, Nov. 3. I was a little nervous that he didn't require preop diet, but sounds like everyone has done just fine! Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App I was wondering about a preop diet too. How quickly after your approval were you scheduled for surgery? I have to wait until he's back next week before I get my date. Good luck to you!!! Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App I was approved on Oct.10th, their earliest date was Oct. 25th, but I couldn't do that so I took Nov.3. I know the waiting is hard! Why no preop diet?
teacherjen replied to teacherjen's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@teacherjen my doc told me i don't have to do a pre-op diet when i asked him why, he merely said "he didn't believe in them" ?? i was also concerned. - only read that OP have pre-op diet i was surprised when i periodically read from OP didn't have pre-op diet good to know that i wasn't alone i've always regretted that i didn't put myself on some pre-op diet ie doing liquids on my own - oh well, hindsight good luck kathy Why do you wish you had put yourself on your own preop? Thanks, that's what I was looking for. My surgeon is a member of that, so it must be why he follows that guideline. Thanks! Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App -
Eleven months down today... never thought it possible

I hear you! I've been above 275 for almost 20 years. Currently 340. There is that part of me that thinks I'll fail at this just like I have for so long. Surgery is in October, I hope, like you, I can look back and say that I did it. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App -
I have heard a lot of people that have no problems with carbonation and some that do. If you don't hurt after having a sip or two, it's probably fine. I tend to go with all things in moderation as long as there are no ill effects. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App

Wow! You give me hope! My high weight was 359, currently 340, hope to get to 320 by surgery in October. I can't even IMAGINE being under 200. How tall are you? Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App -

Now I see that he was cheating on you. He obviously needs help. You should see a counselor. This is just too much stress. I'm so sorry, you must be heartbroken and angry. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App

I didn't read all the other comments, but it sounds like he could have depression. Yes, they're could be other reasons too, but some of the things you said made me think depression. Especially if he's recently been acting more withholding, withdrawn, anxious, stressed. Then running away. I'm wondering if he needs to be on an anti anxiety/anti depressant. Men's depression looks different than women's and often men aren't even aware. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App

Hey Jen, would love to have you join us. My insurance did not require nutrition visits. When you consult at Dr Srikanth's office, their care coordinator will confirm your insurance requirements and then provide you with referral options. Thanks, they referred me to ATI physical therapy and nutrition but thought maybe someone has someone they really like. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
