Any help would be amazing. I got sick with gastro the other week and was vomiting quite a bit and ever since then I really haven't been able to keep food down and today when I was sick after only a few tiny spoons, it felt very different than normal. It was harder to bring anything up, more painful and it felt like there was a something in the way stopping it coming up but I haven't eaten for anything to be there and as I sit here now my stomach hurts. I know I need to speak to my surgeon but it is a public holiday tomorrow and I wont be able to speak to him till Wednesday so I thought I would see if anyone else has felt like this or gone through this. Thanks for reading

Any Tasmanian/ Aussie LAP banders?
Chez2812 replied to BandedBecks's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi I'm in Hobart also glad to finally find some Hobart people on here. I also had no pre-op diet. How are you both going? -
you really need to be careful the doctors give you the rules of the weekly diets after the operation so that you don't hurt yourself. it could cause a band slip or rip the stiches. lots of reason to follow their rules 100%. I know its hard and a struggle to only eat what they say but they say it for a reason. please don't do it again you could cause yourself harm

yep I said if for the till I started seeing the results but some days I still say it, it is a massively big learning experience

How are you eating at 7 months out ?
Chez2812 replied to biglady904's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I have the LB and I still struggle with meat so I tend not to eat it much as its not worth the pain but besides that I can pretty much eat what I want if I wanted to. on saying that my diet consists mainly of salads. if I was to want a taco I would use turkey mince instead of beef and just try to have the healthiest version of it possible. normally for days after my fills i kinda revert back to the mushie foods i had to have at the start but then back to normal after that. -
Who will you tell that you are having WLS?
Chez2812 replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I only told my husband and kids before the operation and waited 3 days after to tell my mother as I was scared she would be disappointed with me for having as some see it the "easy way out" I soon realised I was being stupid and should of told her before. In day to day life now if somebody asks what I'm doing or if the subject comes up I am now more than happy to tell them as I did it to get my life back for me and my family and I'm proud -
How Often Do You Weigh Yourself?
Chez2812 replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I try to only weigh myself once a week but I really go by the surgeons scales as they where what I was weighed on before I was wheeled in to be operated on and I trust they are accurate. so I only record my weight loss after I have seen the surgeon then it is official -
Hi I was just wondering what everyone's average weight loss in first 6 months was like. I am 5 1/2 months post op and after getting weighed today I am 15 kilos or 36 pounds down. I am so happy with that and so is my surgeon but was wondering about others as I have read posts about people losing that much in the first month or so, and what tips you have to help me along thanks

on day 14 post op and weighed myself properly for the first time and im down 7 pounds so happy

Hi I have a question about how you know if your In The green zone. I was banded 14/6 and have had 2 fills so still quite new to all this. After my last fill I haven't really been hungry at all but my stomach rumbles when it's empty but I still don't really feel hungry but I have to eat or it starts hurting. Not sure what I have lost since last fill as I weigh myself only at the doctors (I go back in 10 days) but was wondering if this is the green zone??? And does everyone feel like this? Thanks
-
Congrats for deciding this path. I'm still new to this my op was only 2 1/2 months ago but my advice is follow the doctors advise in regards to after op foods, you will get pretty hungry when in the liquid diet but just remember why you are doing it and think of the big picture. For me it was a mental thing and once I got my head around the fact I couldn't eat it wasn't thy hard. Good luck with everything

so i was banded on the 14June and have had my first fill of 6ml 3 weeks ago and i go back in 3 days for second fill but i have only lost about 7 pounds(when I weighed myself 13 july) and so far dont feel like a lot has changed since before i was banded. i am eating smaller portions than before but i am feeling hungry more often than before. Before i was banded i pretty much only ate 1 or 2 times a day now i eat more times but less food if that makes sense. well i expected to see more a difference than 7 pound by now nearly7 weeks post op. I understand that it is a slow journey and everyone looses at a different rate but I'm scared to get on the scales when I get filled next and I feel depressed all the time and cant stop thinking have I done the right thing or not. thanks for letting me rant if anyone else has felt like this I would appreciate some advise on how to get through this rough patch as I don't want to slip into depression again.

i was on mush foods last week and one of the ones i loved was mashed avacado mixed with a squirt of mayo, garlic salt and a tin of tuna. scrambled eggs. mashed veggies. porridge. I found that when I started the mush/soft food week that it got easier and I stopped thinking about food so much as I wasn't restricted as much as I was on liquid week. good luck you are doing good and I'm here if you need any help just ask I'm only a little bit infront of you operation wise but it might help talking to someone that has just been there

Good luck ????
