    Life with CPAP

@@Ignatius my CPAP machine has a function that starts the flow slow at first and then slowly increases the pressure over 15 minutes. Check to see if you have this option. I too have the full mask and prefer it. I think it helps me keep my mouth shut (my husband would laugh out loud). Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Any Nausea Remedies?

My surgeon strongly suggests peppermint as well. It is safe to put peppermint oil on skin as well. It may be a good idea to apply to skin as prevention in the beginning of recovery. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Insurance Approval Jitters

They told me I should know if I need another dietitian appointment by the 11th of July. It is progress and my surgeon is incredibly supportive. It is going to happen in the "right" time. As a junior high school teacher, it would be great if surgery happens in July but I'll take what I can get. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    July Surgery

One of the things I've seen here in the forums that will help me during preop is that being busy and distracting from the waiting process helps. Planning ahead for each "meal" of the day and prearranging exercise for each day is for the best. My very healthy daughter says to exercise outside because the heat helps keep you from feeling hungry afterward. In addition, everyone here is sooooo supportive. The process would be much more difficult without y'all. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    JULY surgery dates!

I attended that class a month ago and my loving husband did the research and ended up purchasing all of it for me. It is sitting in a box waiting for the word to break it open. The pins and needles are poking my a$$ waiting for the insurance company to make this happen!!

    Insomnia pre op

I use the purest essential oil I can get my hands on from doTerra. You can find it on amazon. Even my husband is using it on his feet to help him sleep better (I snore like a grizzly due to apnea). I would not get the oil in the health food section of the grocery store as it is not as pure and is famous for being watered down by other oils. Some people benefit from spraying some on their pillow or having a vaporizer in their bedroom that they set up before bedtime. We have tried all of these and the feet seem to be the key for us.

    Insomnia pre op

@@applejenn Insomnia is worse for me as I eat less. Lavender on the bottom of my feet before sleeping helps some - but exercising until I cannot think straight helps more. Today, I walked and walked more than I have ever been able to walk before and I am still up (yup, preop). I used to solve this dilemma with a carb feast and the pattern is ending now. My alarm is set for 7:00 AM and I start by walking the dogs. When I stick to this then sleep around 10:00 PM is easier. Good luck - if you find something non-medicinal that works let us know!

    Water

I happily use Stevia NOT truvia or nuvia but real Stevia in the package called "Sweet Leaf." My nutritionist even said that some have trouble with real stevia. Sorry sweetie. I will know more when I get through my process. I LOVE tea too and will struggle without it if stevia does not work. We can try it without sugar. :?

    How about some NSVs!?!?

@@2twinkle That is my plan as well. Most of my dresses and skirts will make it through 50-80 lbs using the safety-pin, elastic technique. I will use those 80's dress clips for dresses and purchase leggings to go under sweaters that will be over-sized fast. There are a number of stores that offer consignment as well so I figure once my clothes are unwearable then I can work within the consignment system to save the budget. What fun things to look forward to!

    Bariatric pal app

I cannot log into the AP either. I am currently using safari on my phone to message because the AP does not recognize my username. It would be great if the AP had a Facebook login option like the website. It would solve all problems.
