Found out my paperwork was not submitted
Shrinkinqtpi replied to gettingsleeved1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Found out my paperwork was not submitted
Shrinkinqtpi replied to gettingsleeved1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My insurance coordinator was on vacation when I had my last appointment. If I hadn't called a week after my last appointment she wouldn't have know that my paperwork needed to be submitted. The insurance company doesn't care about the back story and only monitors when they receive everything. I've waited 2 complete weeks and the insurance company says it could be 2.5 more. Call. You deserve it. When you talk to the office manager, tell them you need the paperwork escalated. The doctor's office is often the only one who can do so. .... You HAVE to listen to your nutritionist... But mine said unsweetened soymilk is a good choice. I haven't had milk in years and it would make me sick to drink it. Listen to your body as you follow instructions and call her fast if you get sick. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Anyone from Houston, TX?
Shrinkinqtpi replied to Elyse519's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you @@goblue9280 It is good to have another friendly face here. I have already joined Dr. Garth's FB page. About a year ago, I realized that I really could live as a vegetarian. It was a surprising revelation. As surgery gets closer and the importance of nutritional diversity more apparent, I would like to try it again. As I have Primomo, the FB resource and my nutritionist will be important to stay the path. Feeling blessed to be surrounded by y'all and such a kind group of people. My kiddo is coming back into town. Sent him to family so I could have surgery while he is away.... still waiting on insurance company to approve. Looks like all hands will be on deck during recovery. Hurry up and wait some more.

@D'Sleeved I had to schedule a reassessment with the surgeon for the paperwork to get sent to the insurance company after the last dietitian appointment. I'm in Texas and each state, let alone insurance company and surgeon's office, functions differently. I'd call the office receptionist/office manager and ask what their policy is once you feel as if you've fulfilled all requirements. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Insurance Approval Jitters

@@tlyons72 I have met my deductible this year (this week in fact!) so I will only have to pay around $300 to the surgeon as long as surgery is approved by AETNA. I will make sure they approve it by doing anything they request as I've done so far. I'm blessed. Many have to take out loans to pay. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

@@Kindle Thank you Kindle for speaking up. I have believed for a long time that if you have to have something sweet, it needs to be the real thing. If not for becoming sick repeatedly over the past couple of years, I could do it on my own. But when allergies put me in bed for 16-18 hours a day weight loss is halted and survival is the goal. Artificial sweeteners made things worse by inspiring migraines. If I have to have something sweet, then it is most likely going to be a piece of fruit or Sweet Leaf sweetened tea. I cannot say enough about Sweet Leaf. it is amazing.

Remember there are only a few true stevia products out there. Sweet leaf is an example. Trivia and nuvia are chemically altered and have other things added.
